Heavy metal poisoning, specifically mercury poisoning is a hell of a thing. Look up the symptoms, it makes the ending of this season make a lot more sense. The writers did their research very well.
I never thought to actually look it up but yeah. Knowing really makes this hit so much harder
I honestly can’t think of a season finale of an animated tv show that left me as exhausted as this. And to end with Korra dealing with recovering from both physical and psychological trauma. God there are so many live action shows I’ve seen I wish had the balls to go the extra mile with their characters like this show did.
And I know that pain that Korra is feeling at the end all too well. My mom fought breast cancer for 3 years straight, then she broke her ankle and after 4 surgeries it just wouldn’t heal, because her white blood cell count was so low from the chemotherapy and radiotherapy the doctors said her ankle would never heal. So she was given a choice of more surgery or an amputation below the knee. We fought so hard but we had to choose the amputation, and after that we knew the fight ahead for recovery and a prosthetic leg was going to be hell. So I know what Korra is feeling. Sad, helpless and afraid that you might never come back.
Korra's battle with depression and mental illness is one of the most REAL performances I've ever seen from any character. It hits so hard and real..
I like the irony that Zaheer was dragged down by his one last earthly attachment, his desire to kill Korra.
I always tear up at that ending. Jinora looks like Aang 😢
The fight between Korra and Zaheer is awesome
I love how you are finally noticing Korra growth. She is amazing and very human. The way she learns and how imperfect she is... That's what we love about her.
This episode is so insane, especially for a "kid's show"; the pain and the trauma are so unexpected...
And yeah, that fall- it did a number on her, as did the poison (i.e., mercury essentially)
Jinora looked strangely just like our boy Aang. It's like as the show runners had Aang comeback one more time to say hi when Jinora pulled back her hood.
the female avatar shaved all her head ( the tattoo is on the entire skull ) but then she let hair regrow on most of her head and just let the space to proudly show off her arrow .
The poison and the fight broke her body. But her mind is far more broken. She is mentally defeated, Zaheer did win in a way... heck, all the villains did, you see it when she starts hallucinating, her past rivals/villains have mentally scarred her. She has massive PTSD.
When you finally finish S4, you’re going to notice just how important S2 was for the story. A lot of the major events for S3 & S4 are tied to events from S2. It really built the frame work for S3 & S4. That’s why I feel S2 is under appreciated.
Wanna hear something crazy? Less than a year has passed since Korra first came to Republic City. Since that time, our poor girl has gotten the crap beaten out of her multiple times. And as much as Avatar State Korra going full Beast Mode is terrifying, she's seriously hurt now. She has a *lot* of psychological trauma to unpack, and the physical injuries on top of that would be too much for most folks. She'll get through it, but it will be a long process.
Each season korra loses a part of herself, season 1 she lost the 4 elements (when her entire personality was based on being the avatar) granted she got it back for the show to continue, season 2 lost the connection (basically lost everything she thought she was meant to be and her) and season 3 she lost her physicality which is the thing she always had and relied on.
You just have to love how they thought killing Korra in the Avatar State would be easy even bound. That's peak Avatar. Korra won't make it that easy for then.
If this were the series finale, I'd be happy with it but that we get more after this, is a blessing. In some ways, book 4 feels like a whole epilogue to the series even though it doesn't pop off as much as this season did. But it didn't need to.
They didnt need to the poison was going to kill her and it also keeps her in the avatar state so even if she did escape she would die from the poison
For me the best episode in Korra. It was just amazing! Fight choreography between Korra and Zaheer was sensational. Shame you skipped the flying part because that was the best. Also Bolin and Mako fighting Ghazan and Ming-Hua was great too
This episode was so good but so scary at the same time cuz we didn't If Cora was going to survive
Who's Cora?
@@user-yf6zz3cl8i Cora the Explorer
Wow, I didn't expect that ending
This show is just so good, and love your reactions to it!! I hope you enjoy season 4.
12:23 - 12:33 I lost it when Bolin put his sock in Zaheer's mouth 🤣🤣🤣 I mean, he did "put a sock in it". Literally.
Notice the only time Korra smiled after the final battle was with the Airbender kids?
What a finale!🔥🔥
13:00 “If you ever want to talk, or . . . . Anything.” KISS ALREADY!
What do you mean you don't know where he learned to fly? He's been following the teachings of guru Laghima probably his whole life and only his GF was holding him to the ground.
15:20 Because this time they actually knew they were getting another season, so didn't have to rush everything into a happy ending no matter if it made sense.
Hi Melon you look pretty
Great reaction to session 3 of legend of Korra
Man this finally was intense
Korra suffering from the metal poison in her body was the most tragic thing i have ever seen in a show
But the final fight between Korra and Zaheer was assume
And you got to see just how much closer Korra and Asami have gotten
Line tilling Korra hang in there kid was super sweet
Just so many great character moments and development
What an ending
This is a one side battle as she's out of control and using the avatar state while having that metal poison is going to kill her
I know Jinora is Aang´s granddaughter but she looks just like when he was a kid, when she is bald.
Korra was already disliked by the public
now imagine you subconsciously think some people around you lowkey think your death would be the best for the world accelerating the circle
After this episode, watching it will make you exhausted
Never before has Korra been so soundly defeated. Not even once she gets "free" and fights Zaheer, she never really was on top or defeating him.. it's pretty sad and ends on a super somber note :(
Zaheer never fights Korra fairly tho. She got taken out with the shirshu dart so didn't fight. Last episode she was chained so had to bend by bunny hopping. This episode she had the poison in her and Zaheer was just running away. Zaheer knew he couldn't beat her 1 on 1 so did everything to prevent that situation.
@@y.ajmal1304 Oh right, I never said he did. But I was more saying, there's a reason for how she feels afterwards. Beyond the poison.
Yeee thank you 😊❤
Time for the NPC to shine
Kuvira 👀
Yeah, *THAT* fall, and the poison did a real number on Korra
Nice that you mention Toph could encourage her.
This is due to the metal poison, manufesting illusions to force her into the Avatar state
Ok i think now i like Zaheer he got what Phoenix king Ozai had.. presentation
Remember the fight between Aang and Ozzie and how we thought it was the most epic thing ever? And then Korra said, “Hold my beer,” and did it even bigger?
This season was just plain awesome.
Amazing, despite being poisoned, korra manage to bring down the criminal
Okay, Season One Finale, THIS is Korra’s lowest point.
The poison. The poison for Korra. The poison chosen specifically to kill Korra. Korra's poison.
That poison?
@@jonmercano1138Yes! THAT poison!
Beware to NOT watch the last 3 minutes of the episode Korra Alone with subtitles. The subtitles spoil something that you might want to figure out on your own.
Great reactions and can’t wait for the next one.
Zuko is old man❤😊
I like Legend of Korra show!❤😊
😢
Hi!❤😊
There’s a new episode of Yugioh the abridged series for the love of god please react to it asap 😤
Don't freak out over little interactions and conversations. This is something that occurs in all high-stakes plots and media. The clock is ticking, but you can't think of it in real time. When an animation focuses on a frame or an interaction between two people, sometimes it seems like time is standing still or dragging out, and no one's moving in the background, but it's just a device. They're focusing on one thing at a time due to the limits of the medium. Think of the infamous Dragonball Z Namek fight. An extreme example, but people see an urgent deadline and then they suddenly think we have no time for any conversations or scenes at all.
I’m surprised you didn’t notice a resemblance to Aang 15:10
I mean both were kids which tend to have less facial features and it's animated pictures which tend to reduce facial features even further.
Taking away the hair makes them very similar.
DBZ is a good example.
@@noztk Good point Every super saiyans look alike

Got so many conflicting ideas XD, not feelings tho I think this was a great season.
So... I agree season 2 was weaker. I don't think it was bad, and I think it builds things up. I do think that, as Melon said, season 3 changed a lot in Korra, completely rebuilt but it makes sense. She got humbled so much. She tried to sacrifice herself to save people, and then got slapped in the face and stabbed in the back basically by the Red Lotus. Btw, I can't believe they locked Zaheer again, you'd think they'd figure out it's not a good idea to keep that guy around and he's not going to talk. Killing him it's not even a punishment, it's a matter of safety.
Tldr great season, waiting for next one. I'm honestly not sure what was Korra's public reception now. I think I heard people complain but I see nothing wrong not even season 2, unless S4 is so awful it destroys everything that's been built so far.
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Season 3 was what LoK could have and should have been all the way through. Such a compelling and poetic story. The writing was great, the fights were dynamic, and they weren’t afraid to shake the status quo - new air benders, new bending styles. The whole package just hits beautifully.
What your name?❤😊
Jinora was supposed to look like aang that’s why korra cried
What? No..
She cried because she is stuck in a wheelchair, the avatar, her whole existence has been broken into pieces. And she probably thinks that some people want her dead to at least make sure a new avatar can pick up the mantle faster than waiting for her to die of old age
@@noztk jinora was meant to parallel aang here, to show korra who she’s expected to be, this made korra realize just how tragic her situation was, it’s symbolism.
Season 4 will have you on the edge of your seat more so than this one. Korra has a long road. Psychological trauma, and having to watch tenzin and jenora do her job makes her feel like a failure, unneeded in this new world. Season 4 goes where very few shows would even date to go. I can't wait to see you start it
Korra does not look good
