- WATCH PART ONE HERE: • Pan Am Inspired Destin...
Join us for Part Two of our Pan Am Inspired Destination Wedding Invitation Suite video. This destination wedding stationery suite is our most involved project to date. We’ll be using screen printing, letterpress printing, and die cutting to create the entire collection from beginning to end. The design is a faithful recreation and homage to the historic Pan American Airlines. Watch along as we take you through the making of each piece of printed matter. We’ll be printing a Flight Ticket inspired Wedding Invitation with a unique tear-away RSVP card, custom luggage hang tags, a baggage check form, an enclosing folder, and custom zipper tab envelope to bring it all together. We’ll be mixing and matching color, trying out metallic inks, pushing the depth of letterpress impression, and shaping and folding paper stock. Get a true behind the scenes look at how this boutique wedding stationery suite is made from scratch. We use a variety of paper stocks from cotton paper, to coated paper, to uncoated paper to build a wedding invitation set that recalls an era of mid-century inspired design.
The classic look and feel of the Pan Am logo and typefaces work perfectly for a Hawaiian destination wedding. When all the pieces of this suite come together it makes for an incredible package. The variety and assortment of cool print pieces feels exciting and impactful to all those invited. A true keepsake for an event that will remain in people’s memories forever.

Today I learned where the saying "first impression" comes from!
CZcams algorithm brought me here, definitely not disappointed.
CZcams exployees don't even know how the algorithm works. No computer will understand it, because youtube created their own language, that only the algorithm knows...
@@YmXJjPFMkgRUWNyLq I recently got recommendations from videos posted 10 years ago lol
same happened to me, very nice to get here!
This video is too short! I need more! :)
Part three will be coming soon!
@@JukeboxPrintLive I really like your videos :)) and I'm still waiting for part 3
It makes me sad to point this out after seeing how much work has gone into this beautiful invite but I noticed during the close up at 28:09 that it says “desitnation” instead of destination! Minor detail that can hopefully just pass without many people noticing haha. Anyway, it was a gem to see this randomly on my recommended and keep up the good work! It was so fascinating and amazing to see the whole process!
I doubt it will be presented to the customer like this. This is an expensive job no doubt and needs to be flawless as many will keep the invite as a keepsake.
Thankfully the error was on one of the simpler processes, but having to remake the plate will be an upset.
The one in the thumbnail has correct “destination”
theacanuto these prints are likely just for their marketing to show what they can do and not for an actual wedding. I would be very concerned if they just exposed the names of many many people in this wedding as well as the time place and date of someone’s wedding. It does suck that they have a typo but again I doubt this is for a real wedding. However if anyone is in Maui on august 16th 2022 you should totally go to the address and see what’s up lol.
The RSVP was 8th March 2020, so the job would have been sent out last year, unless the date was a typo as well?
Its a bit of an unfortunate mistake and even if it was for marketing, it would have to be reprinted.
Shame as the job was completed to a good standard.
pamandajwedding.com doesn't lead to anything, so I guess it's a demo/fake card :)
A very nice easter egg you slipped in there, thank you! I am going to make use of that!
i hope somewhere there was a Danger Zone reference because Pam and Archer from Archer, you know one of the best shows there is
Old school creativity, I love it!
A tip from an old timer....if you’re going to dubbed bump save your arm and just run the job then just run thru again... we always did this when running gold heildelbergs hold great register ... just an tip but to each their own
Hello! I think he is doing the "skip feed" to eliminate the chances of miss the registration on the second pass. Those perfectionist millennials... :D At least i hope he gets paid well xD
katkou I know what he is doing but register is register it’s no problem just easier in my years as a pressman I’ve run 10’s of thousands of dibble impression sheets our company ran a lot of gold ink on labels just easier that’s all... but as I said to each their own... pressman for 55 years
Out of curiosity. Is it more efficient to send it through twice rather than do the double tap?
@@johndrzal4087 I find this all depends on the color of ink being printed. Sometimes a second pass can throw a color off while a skip feed won't. Our light blue would likely have gone too dark whereas a gold ink or black ink may end up looking better. Every job is different and we use whichever technique provides the best result. I certainly wouldn't skip feed any run larger than 500...
Jukebox Print I agree if you were using an transparent white but you were using an opaque white since the ink was not transparent wouldn’t have changed color just make it more interested..... only works with opaque colors ... try it once you’ll be surprised
This guy here has amazing pride in his work! I am blown away by seeing how much fine detailing and craftmanship that goes in to making these invitations!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed watching the video! We'll be making a lot more stuff in the future!
I do not want to know how much this couple paid. Gorgeous work as always!
This is amazing. It’s interesting to see how little ink is needed on the roller. When you put on those little blobs and spread it I thought that was barely enough!
For someone who worked in the Print industry from the ages of 16-35, it is great to see all these old school techniques being used. From 1996-98 I saw the desktop computer revolutionise the industry... strippers were no longer a position, whole darkrooms were dismantled in thrown in the dumpster and in my opinion the whole prepress process ceased to be a trade. Sure we had old windmills running still but, room sized die cutters were becoming the norm. No more cutting sheets, right from press to die cutter with even sheet weeding being completely automated. The Industry as a whole has changed more than mose in under 20 years. For a while now we've had digital variable data presses that can do a lot of this personalized work. Its good to see someone becoming a master of their craft and all of the old tricks being used on equipment that ten years ago was being left to rot or be cannibalized out back by the dumpster.
I agree! Worked in the trade 1980-2017. A WHOLE LOT has changed : (

2 years in advance? damn! that's impressive.
2 and a half years for the RSVP!
Wow. I love this. Reminds me of my student life when I worked on the letterpress ❤️❤️❤️. The real art of printing.
This Letterpress Printing video, really fascinating and enjoyable to watch!!
Thank you!
Such a creative and inspired piece of stationery; it is beautiful.
Thank you so much!
A nice throwback to the days of letterpressed airplane tickets. Back when barcodes and dot-matrix text were pressed firmly into cotton paper on the old Heidelberg!
Wow.. Thank you so much for showing us this amazing process!!
i was shocked that this was a long video but it was really calm to watch. I never knew they make it like this.
Thank you! We try to make the videos shorter sometimes but there so many steps involved we decided to show it all.
@@JukeboxPrintLive Love it!
I'm co confused; how did I get here, and how did I end up liking this video so much? I need answers, but randomly showed on my wall, I watched, I liked.
Your "Sprit Guides" knew you needed a little ASMR
You needed to Relax and Enjoy...
Man.. i really love your artworks. Thanks for sharing this.
Its crazy how a thin paper or a tape can change how it print or cut 👍
It is! We have mic'd tapes in .005, .003 and .001 thicknesses to manage even the most subtle adjustments.
Well I hope they had a lovely wedding yesterday ;-)
I do not why Heidelberg stopped producing these machines but this is art-quite soothing-has a way of teaching one to be patient for good results. Will gladly watch the third part.
I believe the last one came off the assembly line in '85. Heidelberg left the diecutting and stamping world to Saroglia and Bobst after that but I really wish they had kept up the production and refurbishing like Brandtjen & Kluge.
@@JukeboxPrintLive Bobst and Saroglia are good if not best but not hobbyist friendly.I agree they should
You guys do amazing work. The tolerances on these presses blows me away each time. What wonderful machines.
Thank you so much. It really is a dream when the press registers perfectly with every pass. Thanks for watching!
German engineering. Nuff said.
The best half hour I spent on youtube in the last 4 months. Thank you
Thank you Dali! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
This is an invitation I would frame!
This video would make Frank Abagnale proud!
You guys are amazing, excellent work. Thanks
Thank you Kenneth!
Imagine being so dedicated you creat imaginary people with imaginary addresses and extra work all around on top of the already insanely intricate process of making the actual ones for a client.
IMPRESSIVE.
CZcams RECOMMENDED: RECOMMEND THIS CHANNEL MORE. UNDER 100K with this level of amazing craftsmanship?! Not allowed!!
You should send your paper scraps, if you dont already have an ingenious use for them, you should send them to some resin/woodworking and other craft youtubers to use. Im sure it would not only help get your name out there but likely, though I doubt you need it with this level of quality and intricacy, more business.
Stunningly beautiful work by Jukebox, as always :) Also I have to add the attention to detail is staggering, and is actually very creative.
Thanks for that!
The Heidelberg Platen (Windmill) is perhaps the most satisfying press to operate, ever designed, Other presses may be faster, bigger, or make more precise prints (like the Heidelberg Cylinders), but the "Windmill" is just a joy to watch, use, and run. I operated one for 5 years in a small print shop in WV, and I miss it tremendously. I wish I had the money and space to own one of my own, just as a "hobby press"...
Good lord that's a lot of futura. Not that I'm complaining.
I didn't really think I had any interest in printing, but I found this quite fascinating. This is a very cool process to see and I love all the equipment.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful work. Congratulations.
this has to be the best print job i have ever seen! great job guys!
Thank you!
Прикольная калибровка сведения и цветности, все ручками и мозгами... Хочу такой себе, сводит с ума, вдавливание и высокая печать!
I didn't think I could love your videos any more than I already do...until I found out you were local to Vancouver. 😍
*waves from Tri-Cities*
Thank you!
That's some great craftsmanship right there, if I ever marry, I'll let you print my invitations!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 wow!! Absolutely loved watching this magical processs!!!! Thank u so much for this video!! 🤗💛🙏
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Sooo COOL!.....Doing it the old fashioned way!
thanks to CZcams, but nice printing machines you got there :P Saw the sign for the Westgermany and Heidelberg Schnellpresse :D Today we know them as Heidelberger Druckschmaschinen :P
Such an amazing video. We make apparel trims (Woven Labels, Printed Labels), due to market demand we’re venturing into Hangtags as well and we’d be very happy to pick Jukebox’s brain on certain processes since we’re new to this field. 🤓
Glad you enjoyed the video! We'll be making a hang tag in part three so stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
1. Congratulations to the happy couple and oh my God you guys have amazing taste and wedding invitations.2nd This is all so fascinating and I love the process of printing .
Thank you so much!!
So satisfying!
Glad you think so!
Definitely crashing this wedding. the happy couple has awesome taste
Such a beautiful art that we're losing as a society.
I totally agree :(
It is impressive but have you seen the modern letterpress machines? The methods are the same and the artwork you can create with it is the same. We are not losing it as a society.
The modern way is better. Don't compare your home printer to a commercial printing operation.
@@robertomartin8731 That is not the point of my comment. The end result isn't what I'm talking about at all.
@@trotskiftw That is not the point of my comment. The end result isn't what I'm talking about at all.
this reminds me of my grandfathers press, those were bigger machine capable of printing huge orders of books.
Great job man. At a point you feel offset is dying but watching this makes me feel I am awake. Kudos from Ghana.
Print will never die!
Absolutely beautiful work!
What prevents the ink from bleeding onto the sheet above it?
Amazing job!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the ring catch of the die cut sheet at 18:20 by the machine handle.
Lucky shot!
Splendid.
This is so satisfying to see! 😭
The design, colors, and especially the work involved are so fantastic. Great video, never skipped. The narration was good. Congratulations and good work.

Whow!!! You are absolutely NUTT!!! ☺☺☺
Perfect Print.

Dude, nice check mark @12:53
Thank you. It took a few takes to get that shot just right.
I have no idea why CZcams thought that i should watch this. But I actually did.
Now i need a big printer like that in my small room
Some people have them in their living room. With the right motor, they just plug into the wall.
Jukebox Print yes it‘s also nice decoration
Terrific job 👍🏻💪🏼😊😊
Thank you very much!
That's actually the newer fancier automatic model.
In my shop we use the manual heidelberg press without the windmill.
That press is only about 70yrs old.
educational video. Thanks. But one question, how do you emboss those copper plates that go into the windmill?
lol, someone registered the domain thinking this is a legit wedding invitation ^^ Hope they didn't pay much!
It redirects to a weddingplanning service. Which was probably done after the Buyer found out, that this was not real. Nice gesture.
AMAZING :O
Excelente trabajo.
WOW!!!!
Excelente!
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot for such a great video. I'd like to ask about the paper you are using for this demo? Isn't it a problem, that it is, I'd say, squeezed(crumpled)?
28:02 on the RSVP it says "Kindly reply by march 8th 2020" and directly below it's 03 / 08 / 2022
Wow, good thing this entire wedding invitation suite is a fake design. Close call. Thanks for pointing that out!
Maybe they really needed to know early 😂
I was wondering the same thing
Hi! this proyect is soo good, wish I had a press like that on my power, it works incredibly. I have a question, what double adhesive film do you use? Haven't been able to find on that format, the smaller ones are too hard to remove before using them. Greetings!
Random question: When running different jobs on these presses, do you generally have one press setup for doing the printing, one setup for die-cutting and one setup with the heated foil transfer plate etc... or do you tend to use a single machine per run and swap out the various attachments and plates you need at the time?
We have a different machine set up for each process! It's better this way as you don't want paper bits from die cutting getting near the foil pull or the ink duct.
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
wow! nice....very nice
Such a fascinating process! Beautiful design also
Thank you so much!
Its in 1 day, we can still attend!
Muito bom. !!!!!
TROPPA PRESSIONE!!!
Yes!
This has me so eager to get back into printing!!! 😭 I miss the smell of ink and paper. Rando question, what cleaning solutions do you use? We used to use just plain mineral spirits at one uni but when I transferred, my new uni used something oil based and more environmentally friendly.
We use a water miscible press wash called Varn V-150. It's safe and works great.
It is easy to create a mock-up with letter pressed texts in PS.. but man... In reality, it is more technical than car engine lol... 🔥🔥
Simple mistake can cause huge loss. Lesson learned.
Thanks for beautiful video.. awsome work..!
We see a lot of "letterpress" effect mock ups in design and it can often look really cool. However, nothing beats the real thing.. The same goes for a gold shine. Digital mock ups can look cool but a real gold shimmer catching the light is the best.
@@JukeboxPrintLive yes. That invitation is dope.. 🔥 love to see more kind of process videos.
Just a quick question.. With what do you wash off the ink after a run? Somekind of rubbing alcohol? And where does all that leftover ink and cleaning liquid go? Into somekind of recepient, or does it all evaporate? Thanks for these videos. I'm about the graduate as a graphic designer and have seen some machines like this a couple times, but seeing them in use is just magnificent!
Maybe you guys could do some videos at the places they make your dies and your plates.
Just enjoy watching some one else doing the work. Love the attention to details. Can you not add another in roller for double inking? On top of the 2 rolling arm ones?
Yes, we could do that. We call that a "rider roller" and it helps with "ghosting" in the print more than anything. Those rider rollers are a little tricky sometimes so we usually choose not to use them.
for something like a wedding invitation, where each invite is the same except for different names, how would you do all the different names? would you use movable type, or would you make a plate in the style of the ones you used in the video, or something else?
The actual way to do this kind of printing would be on a digital press with dynamic, or variable data printing. That way, each print that comes out would have a unique name to that print.
