This my personal favorite from the franchise. Yes, it's cheesy, had some bad acting (y'all already know); but it had some tense creepy moments, great kills, and the guy who played Jason was AMAZING! RIP Richard Brooker!
FUN FACT: This film had an alternate ending that was filmed but recut. The Original film had Jason actually win in the scene where he jumps from the rope, he actually decapitates Kris. But for some reason either due to the test screening getting negative reaction from critics even though critics hated these movies anyway they changed the ending to keep Kris alive which is why we got the really bad cheap jumpscare with Zombie Mrs. Voorhees, FYI I love this movie the most apart from 1, and 6 but hated the ending.
Yes, Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter is like the best sequel. And then Friday The 13th part V: A New Beginning functions more like a Scream installment, in which a new copycat Goalie face follows in Jason's footsteps and it's about finding out who the new killer is.
Love part 4. Perfect standalone. A prologue to catch a viewer up, and a definitive ending. That, and Jason is brutal in that one. The 2009 is good too. Combines elements from parts 1-4.
Seeing this movie in 3D, with a good crowd, is an experience. I saw it about 3 years ago, on an original 3D film print.. it looked amazing.. its not the cheap read and blue 3D, it was the highter quality polarized lens 3D. Also it's a movie that's built for a rowdy crowd, yelling at the screen. If you get the chance to see it in a theater, do it.
2 Years ago, I was attacked at the lake. YESTERDAY, a bunch of people were found dead and one girl survived. It was all over the news. I decided TODAY was a great day to go back to where I was attacked AND people were just killed and the killer is on the loose. They all deserved to die if you ask me LOL
Chris and her friends had no idea what just happened the day before they got to Higgin's Haven. They were not from the area and obviously smart phones were decades away.
Best part of this movie was the cat and mouse game between Chris (final girl) and Jason. While she made a few errors, for the most part, she had good ideas on how to combat Jason. Sadly, he is unstoppable, but in a normal situation, she would have easily beaten him with the rope around his neck and pushing him out the barn.
I'm so happy that Dallas caught the reference when Jason stabbed the pregnant girl through the chest from underneath the hammock. It's a classic Friday the 13th move but the mother did it better in the first film.
What do you mean? This movie was the one that introduced the weekend vacation formula from part 4 and part 7. Those two were only different because they had either Tommy or the Carrie surrogate in them. Part 9 is pretty different though.
Well, this is the first one not at a summer camp/counselor training camp. This is also where Jason gets hockey mask/iconic look. This is also the one where nobody has any idea who Jason is.
1. Up. I'm a sheep not a goat. 2. Walk to Canada. All that stuff in the water. I'm not swimming nowhere. 3. Ride a T-Rex. That's a long way down if anything goes wrong. 4. Snowed in. I love the snow and that Damien Thorn movie, turned me off of elevators. 5. Skiing- I'm not hitting the beach....ever.

What's great about this one is that not only the introduction of the hockey mask, but no one actually say Jason's name in this. Also in a early script, Ginny from the second one was gonna be come back with Jason tracking her down in a hospital & killing most of the staff to get to her, but it was too similar to Halloween 2.

Part 3 is one of my favorites. It was good for its time, I think. I mean I seen it as a kid in the 90s😂 but I’m a horror freak so I don’t have the highest expectations because I just wanted to watch the slashers so bad back then.

This sequel is not everyone’s favorite of this franchise but it’s definitely not the worst. It’s pretty much mid honestly. I think during a marathon of the films, it just gets too repetitive by this point even though this is when he gets his LEGENDARY MASK!! It really does have some good moments but over all it’s just like…okay…what else lol BUT THANK GOD FOR PART 4!!!!! Fan favorite and honestly in my Top 2 of Friday films. My fav Jason part 3 and 4, this movie was suppose to follow Ginnie to the Hospital at the end of 2. We got Scooby Doo meets Jason lol . Actually I like this one.
This is how the rest go random people go to Crystal Lake and get killed. But what do you expect the first Friday The 13th movie was written and made as a standalone movie only. Jason Voorhees died in 1957 as a child drowning in Crystal Lake. Wich causes his mother Mrs Voorhees to go insane into start killing people. Then she gets killed end of story. Because Jason Voorhees died as a child in 1957 then Mrs Voorhes gets killed at the end of the movie. So thare was no possible way for a sequel because Jason was written as a dead character from the start. To serve as Mrs Voorhees motivation only he was never alive to begin with. The movie studio retconed Jason's death from the first movie. To make a copycat like Michael Myers killer to cast in slasher movie craze. That Halloween started with Michael Myers. Heres the absolute solid evidence that backs it up for anyone but doesn't believe me. There has been an ongoing lawsuit for the rights to Friday the 13th movie rights for several years. Last year I believe in December it was finally settled the judge gave original screenwriter the rights to the original movie. So he got the rights to everything in that movie movie the title Friday the 13th , the name Jason Voorhees everything that is said or mentioned in the first movie he owns. All the movie studio got was the rights to the image of a guy in a hockey mask. Because that was added after the first movie by them. But he no longer has the name Jason Voorhees because the judge ruled that the movie studio did not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees. Past the first movie so that proves Jason was never a killer in part 2 an going forward. Like I an others have been saying for years including the ones that made the first movie. That the movie studio retconed Jason's death from the first movie. In part 2 because as stated in the first movie Jason drowned to death in 1957. The Court ruling states this as fact everything in the first movie is Canon. Which means the statement Jason drowned in 1957 in Crystal Lake to death. That is cannon an fact backup by the Court ruling that the movie studio. Did not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. So thats why the movie studio lost the rights to the name. But not the rights to the image of a guy in a hockey mask. So going forward they have to get permission and work out a deal with the guy who owns the rights to Friday the 13th and the name Jason Voorhees. To still use the image of a guy in a hockey mask an keep this backstory and the name Jason Voorhees attached to it. Because if they don't the movie studio has to come up with a whole new name and a whole new backstory for him. Basically like what happened with the Child's Play reboot. Because a similar lawsuit happened the movie studio lost the court case. The original writer for the screenplay for Child's Play got the rights back. So the movie studio lost the whole backstory for Chucky. Thats why the reboot has it as a electronic toy gone wrong. Because they lost the rights to the backstory to Charles Lee Ray. So they turned it into a electronic toy that goes wrong. But in this case the movie studio lost the rights to everything in the first movie. Including the movie name Friday the 13th but. In a way you reap what you sow because they took the original screenwriter through legal hell for years. So it's only fitting that they lose everything except for the image of a guy in a hockey mask to him. Because they were ones that drew it out with a bunch of legal nonsense. So now they ars reliant on his permission to make any movies or merchandising. With the image of a guy in a hockey mask an have it be named Jason Voorhees. This is way I say the facts of the movies matter. Everything stated as fact in the movie is important. This is the prime example of that the first movie clearly stated. That Jason Voorhees drown to death in Crystal Lake in 1957. The movie studio chose to ignore that fact in part 2. So now the movie studio lost the rights to their killers name and backstory. From part 2 an an after going forward unless they get permission from the original screenwriter. From the first movie because they use the name that they did not come up with along with his backstory. So the movie studio got stock with a image of a killer with no name or backstory. All because they ignored the facts of the original movie. The movie studio could of came up with a whole new killer named Bob in part 2. But they chose not to come up with a whole new killer so now the movie studio is paying the price.
3 didn't bring anything new it got really different from 4 and onwards but this movie is the introduction to the infamous hockey mask Jason is iconic for.
Appreciated this one more back in the day. Still love it, but damn did they drag shit out. Final act was nice though. My big complaint about parts 2-4 is that they all supposed to take place within days of each other.

Did a water damage job at the home of the guy who plays shelly like 20 years ago, he had all these Fthe13th shit hanging, and I'm a huge Halloween fan, not big on this series so I asked if he was in these films he said no lol, he probably thought I was a nut jason fan who would have robbed him or something.
Now see this would be a good lead in to the Toho Showa Universe after seeing a picture of Godzilla from this movie' don't know if you heard yet or not but they got a new Monsterverse tv series coming out on apple+ tv (no date has been set yet) along with new movies I believe coming in 2024.
Not all of these take place in a camp. 4,5,6 are some of the better ones imo. I would recommend watching them all in order before going on to the remake or Freddy vs Jason.

This is how the rest go random people go to Crystal Lake and get killed. But what do you expect the first Friday The 13th movie was written and made as a standalone movie only. Jason Voorhees died in 1957 as a child drowning in Crystal Lake. Wich causes his mother Mrs Voorhees to go insane into start killing people. Then she gets killed end of story. Because Jason Voorhees died as a child in 1957 then Mrs Voorhes gets killed at the end of the movie. So thare was no possible way for a sequel because Jason was written as a dead character from the start. To serve as Mrs Voorhees motivation only he was never alive to begin with. The movie studio retconed Jason's death from the first movie. To make a copycat like Michael Myers killer to cast in slasher movie craze. That Halloween started with Michael Myers.
Heres the absolute solid evidence that backs it up for anyone but doesn't believe me. There has been an ongoing lawsuit for the rights to Friday the 13th movie rights for several years. Last year I believe in December it was finally settled the judge gave original screenwriter the rights to the original movie. So he got the rights to everything in that movie movie the title Friday the 13th , the name Jason Voorhees everything that is said or mentioned in the first movie he owns. All the movie studio got was the rights to the image of a guy in a hockey mask. Because that was added after the first movie by them. But he no longer has the name Jason Voorhees because the judge ruled that the movie studio did not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees. Past the first movie so that proves Jason was never a killer in part 2 an going forward. Like I an others have been saying for years including the ones that made the first movie.

The Court ruling states this as fact everything in the first movie is Canon. Which means the statement Jason drowned in 1957 in Crystal Lake to death. That is cannon an fact backup by the Court ruling that the movie studio. Did not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. So thats why the movie studio lost the rights to the name. But not the rights to the image of a guy in a hockey mask.
So going forward they have to get permission and work out a deal with the guy who owns the rights to Friday the 13th and the name Jason Voorhees. To still use the image of a guy in a hockey mask an keep this backstory and the name Jason Voorhees attached to it. Because if they don't the movie studio has to come up with a whole new name and a whole new backstory for him.
Basically like what happened with the Child's Play reboot. Because a similar lawsuit happened the movie studio lost the court case. The original writer for the screenplay for Child's Play got the rights back. So the movie studio lost the whole backstory for Chucky. Thats why the reboot has it as a electronic toy gone wrong. Because they lost the rights to the backstory to Charles Lee Ray. So they turned it into a electronic toy that goes wrong.
But in this case the movie studio lost the rights to everything in the first movie. Including the movie name Friday the 13th but. In a way you reap what you sow because they took the original screenwriter through legal hell for years. So it's only fitting that they lose everything except for the image of a guy in a hockey mask to him. Because they were ones that drew it out with a bunch of legal nonsense. So now they ars reliant on his permission to make any movies or merchandising. With the image of a guy in a hockey mask an have it be named Jason Voorhees.
This is way I say the facts of the movies matter. Everything stated as fact in the movie is important. This is the prime example of that the first movie clearly stated. That Jason Voorhees drown to death in Crystal Lake in 1957. The movie studio chose to ignore that fact in part 2. So now the movie studio lost the rights to their killers name and backstory. From part 2 an an after going forward unless they get permission from the original screenwriter. From the first movie because they use the name that they did not come up with along with his backstory. So the movie studio got stock with a image of a killer with no name or backstory. All because they ignored the facts of the original movie. The movie studio could of came up with a whole new killer named Bob in part 2. But they chose not to come up with a whole new killer so now the movie studio is paying the price.

3 didn't bring anything new it got really different from 4 and onwards but this movie is the introduction to the infamous hockey mask Jason is iconic for.

Appreciated this one more back in the day. Still love it, but damn did they drag shit out. Final act was nice though. My big complaint about parts 2-4 is that they all supposed to take place within days of each other.
But that makes sense because if they were years apart then why would people keep coming back to this haunted place
@@SomethingCinema That part make sense, but it's crazy that all that could happen in less than a week...like within in a day the ENTIRE area should have been buzzing. Plus what up with Jason's size discrepancies...mf grew at least 6 inches taller and put on 50lbs of muscle in days.

Did a water damage job at the home of the guy who plays shelly like 20 years ago, he had all these Fthe13th shit hanging, and I'm a huge Halloween fan, not big on this series so I asked if he was in these films he said no lol, he probably thought I was a nut jason fan who would have robbed him or something.
