no but for some reason, no matter how terrible and horrible second fls are, for some reason they are more relatable than first fls. I've never been a second lead in my life (cz I never had any serious crush my whole life 😅) so I don't know how it feels, but whenever I watch any drama, I end up feeling bad for sfls where I should be hating them. Unlike male fls, they actually are humane with feelings. Just imagine , you like this person your whole life, give so much effort and time and at the end he jus leaves you like nothing. You would be angry and do anything you to get them back. You just can't give them up for their happiness (even tho that is more healthier than clinging on them) but that's just how us humans are. Imperfect and with flaws. So they make sense a lot of times and no matter how much I try, I just couldn't bring myself to hate them all the time

Second fl is just like norm human being, a girl/woman fall in love with her imperfect persona, the fact that they are brave to love men without recieving back so much love and instead of being respected she got villainized and hated by the whole world like it's default, makes me can't really hate them

The problem lies with the writer not the audience because they're literally presented as such. It's almost as if the writers are sending us a message that only childish and submissive women are attractive, while in real life a woman like that doesn't even exist, literally every other women is so complex, these are unrealistic standards which needs to be addressed. No one is pitting anyone with someone else, just speaking facts. Nothing wrong with pointing out obvious discrepancies, take 2ml and ml for eg, these two characters are always more complex and fleshed out, but for women characters we hardly get 1 good character who also feels like a real human.

i do get your pt, however there are a lot of fls that may seem submissive and with no complexity, but audience have to actually understand their story to further emphatize. take for example eun taehee, joy was hated for how she brought up that character, nonetheless if you actually study what she really is, you'd understand how strong and realistic she is, and how toxic the trio are. but majority didnt like her because she was a character who's no reac and bland at most. the og comment is indeed piting women against women, rather than giving an actual explanation as to why is it better to have female leads with better substances (like u did), they seemed to just throw whatever hate adjectives there is without any elaborations, hence my first comment.
