You could not survive there without Amaury. What a hard worker! And with serious man-skills.
I agree. He is phenomenal
He's the Lalande version of the Eveready Bunny...
He IS amazing, but friendly response that Stephanie lived and survived there quite a long time before Aumaury moved in! 🤷🏻♀️
Without Amaury little of what is happening now would be possible. I’m looking forward to seeing the renovation of the property.
Christmas decorations?!
I reckon Amaury is the most methodical hard working man around!
You should only use a metal container for your ashes, many a housefire has started because of ashes in a bag, all it takes is a little ash that hasnt gone out completely
I agree - this morning I switched to a metal box, as the ash seemed worryingly warm
That is how a hotel in Scotland burnt with tragic loss of life . Thank you for raising the matter.
Just what I was going to say. Have a friend who burned his house down by putting his "spent"woodstove ashes in a wooden box and not carrying them outside quickly enough.🙀
Just what I was thinking too. I remember the Cameron House hotel fire because of the hot ashes and the fatalities. Please be careful ❤
My husband….at the time….sucked the ashes out of our fireplace…with our central built in vacuum… they were 2 day old ashes. It started the holding canister in the garage on fire. We got everything put out. Watching you put the ashes in a plastic bag was a trigger… lol… I see others agree.
It’s nice to see you doing heating duty… and enjoying it. :)
Fingers crossed for the lake. Improving is always the best route
Phillip I love sherry but with ice ! You must have a shops worth of porcelain
Amaury is ABSOLUTELY worth his weight in gold 💫
Love Natis silence sass over Philips collection. Her “wow” says it all!!!
i suppose she is thinking where will they store it all. they have a large place but really i think their rooms they use are small. and as she has always stressed it lacks storage areas....
She has a point. This is borderline hoarding.
I just love Nati's quiet way of getting her opinion across 😁
Amaury is a neat freak, it is glorious to see. What would you do with out him?.
Meticulous and methodical. Always a pleasure to watch.
Is it me, or has Stephanie become so much more organised since her cousin Amuary started living at the chateau? I think he is a great motivator. Good on you Amuary.
Philip is a great help as well!
Its you.
@@stefanieweseau9712 😆 😆 🤣
It’s not you. She is. Philip also seems a good organiser and is methodical.
Phillip also has much to do with it too!
“Bar Keepers Friend” might be your best friend when removing stains from your fabulous porcelain! Also, all those wonderful covered platters would be a lovely way to serve breakfast in bed and keep things warm! Little platters for singles, larger platters for couples... so many possibilities! Love the Waterford stemware! It will always make a gorgeous table! Acquiring an amazing butler’s pantry filled with beautiful porcelain, crystal, cutlery and all the bits and bobs needed to create fabulous tablescapes is a dream come true! While establishing a new storage system it might be a good time to set up a spreadsheet with all the pertinent pieces, color schemes, etc. for ease in creating future tablescapes for every conceivable occasion! Have glorious fun! 🥰🥰🥰
The feast by Dana looks amazing. All the extra soups chefs were a great help I’m sure! So much is happening at the chateau in preparation for another busy B&B season🥰👏🏻🥳
Haha, SOUPS chefs, love it! The sous chefs were great too! 😉😉
Amaury and Philip are great, you are a lucky woman to have such lovely friends and family who care so much for you and your beautiful chateau!
Just so you know, as bed and breakfast guests, we do feel exactly how you described, like we were friends coming for a weekend, the most glorious weekend ever! Can't wait to eat off all that new porcelain in the future.
Exciting news about the lake and thrilled you'll have heating soon. All our love xoxo
That was the best news! The lake is coming back. Imagine what you might find along that old wall as the work is done. I am excited for this. Its a win-win for nature and you. 🧡
i wonder what the stages are for redo. is it that stream first and then the lake bed. does all the clay have to come out or repatch where the plants grew. I am curious about how one seals with clay. should be interesting to learn and see.
Can Aumary use the stables as his work area? He really is such a rare treasure and deserves a great work space!
Philip's antique tableware is absolutely lovely! Excellent find and price!
Amaury is hard at work in the old stables, as always with the best attitude in the world, completing every project! Kudos to Amaury!
Stephanie, excellent news, you can build the lake!
What a great surprise to see Andrew and Riccardo,. I love their vlogs! Danna and Dan! How lovely, the more the merrier!
Stephanie well done using some of Dan’s fantastic music choices from his channel! It always boosts my mood when I hear it. 😊
I put it in as a little treat for everyone who watches Dan’s vlog - it makes me smile whenever I hear it 😊
Love this one 🥰
Dan has great taste in music
@@TheChateauDiaries Yes give some Supremes vibes - very nice. Aldenmark Niklasson Baby you are really hurting me
Oh yeah! It’s Dan’s! Where can I get that fantastic music?!
You might want to consider keeping the cracked and broken pieces to make future mosaics. Could be mosaic table tops or garden paths or mosaic vases (too many ideas to mention here) if you end up with a collection of broken, chipped, cracked porcelain. ♥
ahh i said that too. you first though. yeah. great suggestion. though probably long gone by now. I would say bird feeders but their trees have been thined of lower branches. Perhaps even for butterfly drinking.
The ghost of the Marquis says get rid of the lamp table
I have my great-grandmother's antique dishes and when researching replacements found that antique porcelain and cream ware can give lead poisoning. I'm going to get them tested since we've been using them for daily use and not just special occasions. There are kits at the hardware store. Just mentioning because there are many collectors and porcelain enthusiasts that watch the show. Also mentioning in case you didn't know there might be a risk with frequent use. What stunning sets you have! I love seeing a beautifully set table and dislike modern, white plain plates. As always, the transformation of the Chateau and cheerful presentation is very entertaining. Much thanks!
Goodness! Stephanie and Philip- you are pathological hoarders 😅 You clear out with your right hand, and wave in with your left hand!
Good to see the beauty of the stable resurface from under the clutter. As you say, it makes you feel ‘ lighter’ as you clear out and create space.
You will need the china pantry sooner rather than later 🤦🏽♀
At this rate they’ll need to add a pantry wing!
I think you should make sure that the shelf’s are strong enough to support the china weight. Extra support. To be safe !!
my gosh Amery is the hardest worker i have ever seen he is like 3 people in one wow wow
He is such a glorious human being, gentle and softly spoken but loving and caring and with a work ethic entire companies couldn't compete with!!! And watching the time lapse of his removal of that ceiling, no wonder he has those huge shoulders!!!! That was a mammoth task!
I like the warm deep tone of his voice. His carpentry work is thorough & carefully done.
So is Phillip. He is so loyal.
Today, I finally realized that you were doing all of this work on the château, not just for yourself and family, but for a bed-and-breakfast. Now it makes sense to me. Why so many people are always there.
The 15 glasses would be perfect for serving a 'trou normand' (norman hole) : in the middle of a big lunch you can serve a ball of sorbet (sherbet) with alcohol, and it helps you digest the first half of the lunch before you serve the other half :-D It can be a 'colonel' (lemon sorbet and vodka) or apple sorbet with calvados, or anything you fancy!
It could also be used for fruits in alcohol, like cherries in syrup, served at the very end of the lunch.
I love these glasses, they are beautiful!
Ooh la la!….so very fancy….and nice!
Oh my goodness my heart leapt when you put ashes in a bag like that! Is it really ok? I have heard of SO many household fires started just like that where entire buildings were lost. Please put ashes in a metal ash can 🙏!
Also Amaury is the MOST amazingly talented, organized, and creative person. What a gem he is!! When Philip touched those crystal glasses together my heart sang!!! I am RIGHT THERE with him on dish sets and crystal-WHAT an incredible purchase All of what you BOTH found is!!!’
I love that we all get to join in on the adventures of restoring the chateau. The glamorous and not so glamorous alike. Cheers!
hhmmmm don't I remember you clearing that space once before? 🤣
Stephanie, watching your videos on china-ware, fabrics and art work, has given me a completely fresh appreciation for these things, not just as useful things, but as intensely gorgeous products of other people's minds - such beauty, formed into something useful, AND something for the heart: to lighten the spirit, and bring our humdrum lives into the realms of light and beauty, even fluidity and open-mindedness. Your, and Philip's sheer delight in this world of beauty, has kindled in me such an appreciation and new respect for the importance of beauty to keep the soul healthy.
Wow, heating started, epic porcelain haul and a fabulous feast - happy days!
The tureen that has no lid can be used for flowers.I’ve seen this done and it’s quite beautiful
Haha “As you can see, there’s enough of us to found a new local choir.” 🤣
It will be so exciting to see the lake and natural swimming pond. 👏
I’m so thrilled that the first on-site lake meeting went to swimmingly well (you’re welcome, Phillip). And to finish the day with one of Dana’s delicious looking meals - what a treat! ❤️🇨🇦
Oh as soon as I heard the music I thought of Dear Dan who has been working very hard.
They have Dan over to dinner a lot when he flys his drone or works there.
I agree Phillip... Sherry must return!!!
I love this pattern I have a few pieces myself .Good Eye! The cracked dishes can be repaired with white glue and used for display. Here is a hint from a professional antique seller.. me. To remove stains from any porcelain china purchase volume 40 hair toner. Annalis (sp? sorry ) can help you purchase it in quantity. I purchase it by the gallon at the beauty supply. Put the piece to be cleaned in a non reactive pan like plastic dish basin. pour the toner over covering the piece. Let it sit days if necessary. It will pull the discoloration out of the china. Harder stains may need a reapply. I have been doing this for 25 years and it works. So never pass up a discolored piece of china. I love your find and so jealous!!! Love from Florida US xo
Same, Sharron, I made a very jealous sound seeing the huge amount of beautiful blue decorated porcelain. I have it too
Love Amaury's encouraging talks to get rid of stuff🤣🤣🤣
That was EPIC! So much "prettiness" to behold! Also, the Chateau is moving forward in leaps and bounds...you must be so excited! Love the flow of energy between you all and I'm so looking forward to the lake project! Bisous 🥰🤗😘
Dear me, you could feed half of France on that service.
I grew up with the Waterford Lismore crystal. We used the Port glasses for cordials. Always a pretty holiday displayed with twinkle lights.
Amaury did an amazing job readying for the heating . Philip got a wonderful deal on his China . But what really got me exited is the heat is going in. I’m glad you guys won’t be so cold and I love the log burners . The lake well Estatic doesn’t cover it. I was so personally upset about the lake I became a Patreon so even if it’s a little ,the Lake and Chapel can be restored .
I hope soon you can get the permission you need for the apartments to be finished and now they will be fitted with heat too. You are doing a magnificent job !
Did the Chapel survey get finished?
Nathan is so looking forward to the job. He loves working on the Chateau!!! 💙
Glad to see Natti back! And for heat!
This is exciting to see you’re getting a good heating system. It was fun to see all the blue and white ceramics. I no longer use bleach to whiten discolored pottery. I’ve found that 40 volume hydrogen peroxide in an enamel broiler on low heat helps the discoloration to come out much better. Sometimes bleach will cause the glaze to flake in time and cause pits in the pottery. Congratulations on the lake progress and the food looks sooo delishious!
Great to know! Thank you for sharing that!
Amaury is a Superman!!!
Do NOT let the loyds loom wicker chair get rained on Stephanie.💙
Okay seriously? Best video ever: 1) Reality of waking up in the freezing cold, log burners & tea
2) uninstalling recent installation to upgrade the heating
3) a mountain of matching porcelain & enough glassware to rival Downton
4) maps /schematics for a pond big enough for a regatta. What a lot of considerations involved.
What must it feel like to see all this coming closer to fruition after living there 15 (or how many ?!) years?? My hat is off to you all!!!
Music is leaving a hint of Dan the Man in the air at LeLand!!!
I’m so glad you are finally getting central heating in the Chateau. I remember when you kept warm with two hot water bottles!
Another busy and industrious episode. Thrilled that the plans for the lake will happen! Brilliant new heating system happening! Fab porcelain and glass buys. A really good sherry is a wonderful after dinner drink. So warming and comforting….and I noticed those sage chairs in the Marqui’s sitting room. A much better fit than in the blue Wedgewood room. They’ll also look glorious in the new grand salon. What an epic clean out by Amaury and Philip. The food look delish! Love to you all. ❤ and thank you for always bringing joy!
I agree completely about the chairs.😊
It is SO NICE to see people who love porcelain as much as I do!!
"Feels so good to clear things out"... brings in dozens of new glasses, etc. 🤣
Great work clearing out the stables, time lapse makes it all look so effortless! Love all your porcelain Philip and your crystal decanters too Stephanie. So pleased to hear the Lake update and now Dana’s channel is a must to see the food production - and/or might we see some on Andrew and Ricardo’s vlog too?🤔👏🥰
Omg that’s an aggressive amounts of plates lol
Such GOOD news about the lake. Glad the frogs will still have a home - we had them in America, and every Spring the chorus was deafening. All different tones vying for notice, as the 'Peepers', which the locals called them collectively, chirruped, peeped, and deeply oinked their way through the night. Love hearing your local army of disguised princes.
i wonder do they herd the frogs and toads like they do the sheep.....so they can work? or have to hire someone to take care of all the wild creatures there.
When you say "epic", you really mean it! That was a shed load of crockery. Phillip is absolutely right about sherry, it fortifies and relaxes. Can you see a massive crisis when you have a sherry in your hand? 🙂
Whose grandfather buys a boy a small tureen when he's 12? What a unique man and so full of vision - I want to adopt this grandfather! I can't see that MASSIVE collection of china exactly, I'm thinking it may not all be the same pattern, but it certainly look like it works together beautifully. I envision a large family get-together when the chateau is done, a sort of house-warming party, with tables set up outside and using all of this beautiful china, looking kind of like a Diner en Blanc gathering. Crystal stemware, silver candelabra, collect some old glass cloches and fill them with strings of battery-operated fairy lights. And then we will want to see video!!!
What a lot of lovely things happening at once to Dans delicious music
And I find I have a smile on my face as always after watching thank you much love to all ❤❤❤❤
I'm so happy the plans for the lake are moving forward. That dinner looks absolutely amazing! 💯 ❣️
watching your vlogs have become a tradition, I admit I've been missing the old intro and the music I always wonder why the edit of videos change, anyhow much love to you always x
Stephanie, just get a Dyson heater, or something similar, that has a remote control with it! Then you can turn it on a couple of hours before you both get up! Or even just buy an electric remote control, plug in outlet for the wall! Then plug the heater in the outlet! Anything to stay warm! Cheers! Thomas!
I have the same Dyson fan and i must advise you that downloading the Dyson App is a godsend. you can control the fan/heater from anywhere and even turn it on and off from bed and even control where its facing. you can also pre-heat/cool a room before you get there and put it on a schedule.
I was at Burleigh Pottery on Tuesday! It is very local to me, and I love this set!! It is in green, black and pink now, as well as the blue!! I love seeing your progress every video! Love to you and all la Landers!! ❤️
The cuisine looked so delicious it even took my mind off the magnificent china! I am thinking that soon you won't have enough space in the chateau for all the china. You will need an extension soon! Thank you for the video! Have a brilliant day!
The room next to the kitchen is going to become a China Room.
@@carolinegooder7091 Yes but at the rate they are buying China, soon it will not be big enough! 🤣
The lake project has been one dear to many of our hearts, but I'm glad you will finally be warm at
Lalande.
that china collection is truly epic and What A STEAL! you could have paid that for one tureen... those large "soup" bowls , I looked it up and it looked like their pasta bowls???
If you can manage to score the 2 slice toast holder with jam wells, that would be a really awesome addition to the impressive collection!
LOVE the Baccarat Harcourt decanters! That's one my of moms glassware collections...
I am so glad this channel popped into my feed.... The dishes caught my attention.... and I stayed to admire the handsome man who found them..... 😍
xoxo Randolph
I'm so excited for you to be getting closer to getting your beautiful lake back! It's going to be so nice! It's so nice to see all the activity. I wish you posted more a week, I get so spoiled during advent. 🦋
Dana's dinner was perfection!
Praying hard for a yes to the lake. This was an epic clear out and thanks for showing us all of the porcelain and crytal. That feast looked Devine.
So happy about the lake! Jayy!! ♥️🇿🇦
Great to see Nati back and also the lovely Dana (her cooking always looks so yummy)
Definitely overkill😄
Regarding the ice cold Chateau bedroom, though about to be dealt with by a new heating system, Stephanie and Philip should have an electric heater with remote control. They are certainly available and would make warming up the room an easy quick click on the remote from the comfort of one's bed.☺.
I sm a Nicaraguan married to a French. I found many french people do not sleep with heating at night!yikes!!!!😆😆😆
I can only think they do it out of culture!
I can't bring myself to that torture 😂😂.
Stephanie, your hair looks amazing! This color suits you a lot.
My word! So many good things all at once! How wonderful 🙂
The small glassware perfect for digestifs :) So happy about the lake and future wetland!
Ooohh Fun!
I’m with you Philip. Love a sherry
I'm continually amazed at the amount of work you all do. I wish I had half the energy you, Philip and Amaury and the gang have along with all the skills. I love everything about this video -- beautiful porcelain, sparkling crystal, a soon-to-be lake and heating! Speaking of crystal, I'm on Team Philip for the Sherry glasses. Every magnificent chateau MUST have it's Sherry and the proper glasses from which to imbibe.
Philip, have you considered adding a beautiful array of blue and white (plates, platters, lids from unusable casseroles) to those two lonely plates above the cookers? I thinking it would be stunning!
Love this song.
I'm loving Philips nails. Yes Philip, stand your ground. I agree you are a perfect fit.
Steph your so lucky to be surrounded by genuinely lovely people! Great news on the lake. It's nearly Spring and I'm looking forward to all the exiting projects. 😊🐸 🐛
I live in Canada and can’t imagine living with only a space heater. Excited for you to have radiators!!! I loved the dishes and glasses. I can imagine both cocktails in the 15 glasses as well as dessert. I have similar dishes and have made individual tiramisu and chocolate mousse. I laughed so hard at your back and forth as to who bought what. Been there with my husband- me china and crystal- he racing bikes and board games. So funny!!! I’m on Philips side. He has inspired me to wear some brooches I inherited and definitely for Sherry! Yum. Todays post was so much fun. Thank you!
Amaury can make big garden table tops with separate legs/bottoms that get covered by a cloth and you can have huge Versailles garden parties. Then the China set will come in handy
The crackle damaged could be used for flower arranging I am sure Marie would like to use it.
I hope those shelfs can carry all those plates 🍀🍀
Phillip. Use the broken or damaged tureens, tea pots etc as vessels for flowers! Marie would approve 🤷♂️❤️
They would look great with some spring bulbs in!
Years ago, there was a horrific fire near us where a beautiful family and gorgeous home burned to the ground. Ashes were put in a bucket and stored in an outdoor vestibule. Even if you think the ashes are out, put them in a metal bin (never plastic) preferably with a lid and take them out of the house right away.
What a dream! Thank you for bringing us along
Another lovely lifting of our spirits!
Gorgeous snow covered La Lande chateau, buildings and fields! Thank YOU!
whooo weee, what a haul of stuff you unloaded. Congratulations...that must really feel great. The new dishes and decanters, etc...are looking very grand and will be lovely for your big dinners with guests. It's really nice to see Kim and Sabina pop back in at LaLand in the last couple episodes! Kim is always lovely and I always liked Sabina! So happy for the good news about the lake (fingers crossed) and wetlands!
Does anyone know what happened to the Xmas light that Aumary put up in the courtyard? I don't think I saw them lit at Xmas.
Phillip and Amaury did a fantastic clean up job. So excited to hear the lake is coming back. Dana is amazing 😍😘
The decorations on the tree are lovely
I'm with Phillip regarding Sherry, there is nothing nicer on a freezing cold day late afternoon or in the evening than a glass of Sherry. Good luck with the lake project. Thank you all 💕🇦🇺
The smallest crystal stemware might be used for an after dinner digestif. I recently had one made with sweet vermouth, Calvados and Bénédictine @ a French bistro in SF.
That porceline is magnificent ! Perfect ! Lovely...I wish I had that soft blue pattern with footed terrines
Every week, you make my day! Thanks for sharing
