can we talk about how phil never expected them to still be there? he was expecting for them to have either been evicted,to run out of food or to simply die. he didn't recognise his sons and expected them to suddenly forgive him after leaving them for 17 years. to put this into perspective,an eight year old had to learn taxes,get a job,pay bills,give up school/education and had to essentially learn everything by himself. and ababy was left unattended to for hours,wasn't given anything remotely decent for an infant to have and was basically raised by two other children.
