I picked up my first bike, a 23 ninja 400 3 weeks ago, first weekend into learning how to ride went on a bunch of group rides, night ended when a 18 yr old kid on a drag modified zx-10r tried running from the police and robbed a car at 140 mph, his funeral was the next Saturday. Most sobering moment as a brand new rider. Be safe. Be smart. Know your limits. I knew the moment I say his crumpled up body on the road I would never take it that far.
I don’t do group rides for one reason. -I hated the one I did. I’m Autistic and barely enjoy the environment before we went, and on the road with that many people just had me wondering why I didn’t just do the route on my own. To many people to worry about, I couldn’t actually ride at my own pace because the people behind me were trying to go faster and the people ahead were wanting to take it slower, and I just got fed up with it and left. I find myself preferring small groups of just me and a couple others at most. Mostly ride with friends and family. I would consider doing the DGR one day though. Gotta get me a T120 someday anyhow. Lol
so understandable, group rides can be pretty overwhelming since there r a lot more factors to include when riding lol I don’t think I ever will do a huge group ride just because it can become more dangerous very quickly. Always remember though to go on at ur own pace and ride ur own ride:) that’s why I purposely stayed towards the back so I didn’t feel pressured
