Fly me to the Moon! Tintin inspired Accent Light

- The moon has been a source of inspiration and dreams for long enough to warrant trying to get there - with a wooden rocket, of course. And just in case it does not get there, it can double as a reading light.

I really enjoyed the humor in the narraration. Your daughter is as cute as a puppy. Thanks for sharing this video. I look forward to seeing more.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy my newer works!
Excellent build, fantastic segmented turning. Well done.
Ahhhhh Tintin, I use to read them as a kid... nicely done.
Thank goodness you went with hardwood - great build and fab to meet you at MC will enjoy catching up with your videos now Dominic 😍👏👏🌲🦊🌲
The feeling is mutual - regarding MC as well as the hardwood. So many worse choices. Thanks for watching!
super Idee und Umsetzung. Sieht sehr geil aus. Daumen hoch
Love that little switch, very cool build.
Dom, what a magnificent job! I should have known you were a fellow Tintinologist. very enjoyable vid with good music. thanks for sharing.
A very original project, well done - I really like your self-ironic commentary! Excellent Dominic!
Hey Major Tom 😎. Geile Idee und toll umgesetzt. 👍
That was fantastic! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome rocket and video. Thumbs up Dominic.
Very nice piece. Well done.
Thank you very much!
I did the thickness sander thing in my drill press with a drum sander last night lol. Great minds haha.... good work Dominic
Nice! 🙂
Thank you!
Beautiful rocket lamp! The segments came out really nice! Looks professional too.
That is so cool man. I really like it. Your end card blocks the final shot of the project. You may want to move it to the other side.
Excellent project Dominic. Being made out of...hardwood, it should last quite some time. Hopefully long enough for a 'return' journey, and a re-entry. Regards Mark in the UK
That was cool! I love Tintin!
I would have liked to see a few more shots of the finished piece. I understand it would kind of mess up the flow of your story narrative, but I still wanted to see more angles and views of it!
ps: I linked that to reddit /r/artisanvideos + /r/woodworking... hope you get lots of views!
That was a great video and project. love your sense of humor in your commentary.
I enjoyed this one, Dominic. Good job.
wow - just wow
Beautiful work Dominic! Really like the way the light gives the impression of a launch.
The best part is of course that there is not a single tea-light in the (vanishing) horizon. Not to mention the leaked footage of your prototype where you tried to flip a tea-light upside down for the downward flame and we saw the whole thing end up in a ball of fire.
I did not write that! My account is compromised!
Great job Dominic
Hey great built
Super cool!!
Cooles Projekt! Ich mag deinen Humor... viel Erfolg bei der Challenge.
Eine wirklich geile Idee für eine Nachttischlampe. Super gemacht. Daumen nach oben und Abo von mir.
Dom it looks amazing, well done!
Did you put a finish on it?
Ha ha! Marmalade chuck 😆
I consider it one of my more tasteful jokes. Thanks for watching!
Sehr coole Lampe Dominic!
Looked like a really cool project, shame we didnt see a finished result. Your other video previews completely blocked the little you showed of it.
You are right! I moved them around, I hope it works better now. And I admit I should have given the final piece more screen time. (And I thought I had already answered this but apparently, it did not go through). Thanks for watching!
@@BeInspiredwithDominic Its better now thanks. Why a heat sink for led strips? Or was it used to just help hold the strip and wires? Im glueing up some walnut now to try my own and looking at options for lighting.
The main purpose of the pipe was to hold the LEDs in place and allow me to work on them before putting them inside the rocket. Also, my apologies, I thought I had replied to this already but apparently I did not.
Very cool project and wonderful commentary :)
