When she walked out of the BAU after looking at the rest of her team, she 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸, she KNEW, that she wasn’t going to come back alive, but she did it anyway, to protect those she loved. I stand by the fact that Emily Prentiss is the most badass, brave, heroic, selfless, protective, caring, loving, and courageous agent in the history of the BAU. She is a legend that will go down in history.
Watching her in that episode broke me. I remember sitting there sobbing because she has always been the character that I loved the most. Her courage and strength is so awe inspiring. When she left the BAU she knew that she wouldn't come back alive but she wanted to protect her team.

Exactly if the team knew she was alive then so did doyle if she would have walked out of that hospital alive he would have tried to kill her but JJ and hotch faked her death to keep her safe.
