I have lived in Oregon all my life. It is beautiful. What is really cool about Oregon is you can start out in the morning on the Oregon coast. Drive over the Coast Range of mountains and be in the the Willamette Valley in a couple of hours. Then head over the Cascade Mountain Range. and be in the high desert within a couple more hours. We have everything here.

Looks like you had a terrific trip, Tom! You've shown us a few new spots in addition to many that we've visited ourselves. If your rig is capable, don't miss the opportunity to actually boondock *on* the dunes in Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. We were dune buggying across the dunes in a Toyota Tacoma! (And getting good and stuck once.)

When in Oregon take a drive up highway 101 Gold beach on up through Bandon and in between Bandon check out Sun Set bay state park. Coos bay\North Bend. The sand dunes which runs from the north jeti on up to Florence. And on up highway 101 through Newport and on up to Astoria and then over to Portland and back down interstate 5 through a bunch of towns to see and over to the Cascades mountains for volcanoes like Mount Hood and the Three Sisters and Mount Newberry and on down through Douglas county Roseburg Myrtle creek Canyanonville during the Douglas county fair in August down through Grants Pass then over to mount Mazuma/Crater lake and on through Klamath falls and on over to eastern Oregon for more places. Eastern Oregon and the Cascade mountains have a volcanic past that needs to be seen because there is a bunch of amazing things that people should see. After you see Oregon check out northern California like the redwoods and Mount Shasta and the only other inactive at the time Mount Larsen and on the way down through California check out Long Valley Caldera one of the Three what can be called a supper volcano in the United States of America. Long Valley caldera last big eruption was 750000 years ago but still has a volcanic eruption of different types and things since the last big eruption 750000 years ago. The West coast of the United States of America can be a good place to see

I lived in Oregon 25 years. Moved away in 1987 when the Californians started moving up for cheaper home prices. Now that they are all in Oregon, they have driven up house prices way up. I loved the camping in the old growth forests. I love Newport and camping at Cape Perpetua. Loved shooting the white water rapids after work or drive a little further to the McKenzie River. It is a beautiful state, but the politics are totally woke. There would be plenty of room and houses to buy in Portland. Many of the residents leaving because of the constant looting, crime. Business owners are closing down and moving away - due to the homeless and their leaving feces in the doorways of the small businesses. The mayor in Portland and the Governor of Oregon are way out there. If you are a liberal and love violent and crime - Portland is the city for you.

We just did that trip last year, and by far the most scenic beach was Crescent Beach in Ecola State Park. You can hike to it from Ecola Point, or from Chapman Beach and around Chapman Point. Other highlights include Cascade Head and the Redwoods National and State Parks. Fern Canyon was particularly impressive. We also did the long drive to Crater Lake. And to be honest, we found it to be a bit anticlimactic. We didn't realize it at the time, but we drove right by Oregon Caves NM and Toketee Falls. Looking back now, we wish we would have checked those places out as well because it would have made the long detour more worth while. Anyway, in case this interests you, we have a couple pics and a video clip of Crescent Beach in our trip highlight video. czcams.com/video/c4s1FQJnkEY/video.html
