Probably 90% of Christians in the USA don't know this, but Jesus was actually speaking Aramaic when he was walking on this Earth, as were all of the Jews for nearly a thousand years before that. Why? Probably 90% of Christians in the USA don't know this, but Jesus was actually speaking Aramaic when he was walking on this Earth, as were all of the Jews for nearly a thousand years before that. Why? It was forbidden for them to speak Hebrew... and that's why The Passion Translation Bible reads so beautifully! I don't believe that he means Yeshayahu but Daniel and the prophecy of 70 weeks of 7 shevuim (490 years) from the decree of Artaxerxes to rebuild Jerusalem until the Moshiach will be "cut off" and atone for the people. That's why so many people were looking for the Moshiach in the 1st century time period.
