  • Always wanted a organ with real stops, so I could pull out all the stops. I decided to make my own organ (never done anything like it). I'm familiar with electronics, but not with wood.
    Hope you enjoy the video.

    Beautiful job!
I got the pedalboard (25 keys) from an old hammond organ (also via marktplaats ;) ) and midified it using an arduino.
Btw. it was a fully mechanical pedal, so i had to cut screwterminals so that a hall effect sensor could be placed in it. It needed wires for the negative that jumped to every sensor, same for the positive, but it also needed datawires that jumped to the arduino (1 for every sensor). Not to forget the resistors that needed to connect the two outer pins. It was a lot of wire screwed in a small hole.
It took like one and a half day in total to do. Normally i had to go to school, but we had Covid in the family, so i couldn't go. I never got covid myself, but i got a lot of time to finish it.
I already had a yamaha keyboard, so i experimented with grandorgue (some free software like hauptwerk). I eventually bought another midi keyboard to add another manual. I was also thinking about those kind of pull stops, but eventually went with a cheap bulky touchscreen monitor i found on marktplaats. It didnt need to be a good quality monitor since it was just for stops. The only problem was that if i wanted to play, i needed to connect my laptop with every cable. It also took a lot of space on my laptop. Samplesets are not small.
Now i found a set with just the motherboard, i5 processor, graphics card and powersupply for a very good price. We build a case for it, and now its almost finished. Just the last touches like soldering an amplefier and making an external control hub for pc/volume/light controls and a headphone jack.
It has a bit of a modern look because of the style of the upper manual. But i love it!
It's not just about the product, but also about the proces. When you can tell people you build it yourself, it has so much more value that you can't express with money. (But making it yourself is also way cheaper ;) )

Could you possibly build me one of these, I want to put it in my bedroom to replace my desk I have in there. The Organ is going to be played during special events and HALLOWEEN. It would make me really happy, except I want it built like a Theatre Organ. A Wurlitzer to be specific😄

I'm sorry, but it took me a few months to build this one. Too much work to do for someone else.
