Now you should get a ratchet that's worthy of that nice wooden case. The one you have appears to be an off-brand one (probably made in China), and it's a copy of the classic S-K 40970, widely considered to be the best 1/4" drive ratchet ever made, and it's been in production since 1933 (still made in USA too). It, along with its 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" drive counterparts, was the original "roundhead ratchet" design that has been copied by countless companies over the decades. The 1/4" drive version is considered the best of the bunch though, as it has the highest tooth-count and very low back-drag. You can find vintage used ones for $15 or $20, or you can get them brand new for about $45 (US dollars; I don't know how many Canadian Tire dollars that would be).
I could understand using the drill bits to make holes for the sockets, but was it not possible for you use a router to make the openings for the ratchet and the extension? That would have made the bottom more uniform and saved you the time spent drilling a number of holes and then chiseling it all out. Regardless, you obviously are very skilled and you made a great-looking storage case. Nice job.

Nice work but wasted effort for the cheapo tools going in it. I'd get the S-K set that this one is a knockoff of, then your hard work would actually be worth it.
