    My husband and I had Peruvian Paso’s. They have a wonderful and beautiful gait-so very, very smooth-it also comes naturally and can’t be taught. Your Icelandic horse also has a wonderful gait so smooth and very beautiful. I wish I had a chance to ride. Keep them safe and always cherish them.

    I visited Iceland a few years back and got to meet Icelandic horses for the first time out in the wild. Their coats are thick and fuzzy and their manes are fluffy, much different than the slick, shiny horses we have in places like California. They have such a sweet, welcoming nature to them that makes them so pleasant to just be around ❤

    Same as the Dartmoor ponies. They have been on Dartmoor for 3500 years.
    Shetland ponies carried adult men used for rounding up sheep.

    • @ifjchsiwocjcjs4378
      @ifjchsiwocjcjs4378 Před rokem +4

      Exactly. Alot of Icelandic riders say they are strong enough to carry adults, but there is NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF to suggest they are stronger than other breeds

    • @georgia6947
      @georgia6947 Před rokem +2

      Especially if you are inexperienced. Someone who is learning to ride will be much heavier on a horse’s back than someone who knows exactly what they are doing. An inexperienced rider will land heavily on a horse’s back, throw themselves off balance, move counter to the horse, etc.

      @ifjchsiwocjcjs4378 Před rokem +1

      @@dagmarfrerking2235 is that lady a licensed veterinarian?? NO. Also bone structure does not play any role in a horses ability to carry a rider, of course it does to an extent but overall no. Its the back muscles and spine. Clearly these tiny ponies should ONLY carry children and small adults. Again there is NO EVIDENCE from any scientific study to say the specifically the icelandic breed can carry a higher body percentage.

    • @Sophie_yfp
      @Sophie_yfp Před 8 měsíci +1

      @ifjchsiwocjcjs4378. Icelandic’s have extremely dense bone structure for this purpose. They carried Vikings in Iceland for hundreds of years. If it was abuse why would people do it? Please educate urself before trying to teach others.

  • @randomcrap1234
