How to Install HT30 Handrails on Posts Step-by-Step Tutorial

In this video, I will guide you through the process of installing handrails on posts. We'll cover everything from marking the hole positions to drilling and securing the handrails with screws. Follow along to ensure your handrails are installed safely and correctly.

1️⃣Mark Hole Positions: Start by determining where you want the handrails to attach to the posts. Use a pencil or marker to precisely mark the hole positions on the posts. These marks should align with the mounting holes on your handrails.
2️⃣Drill Holes: Use a 5/32” drill bit to drill pilot holes at the marks you made on the posts. Be sure to drill straight and avoid angling the drill to maintain the structural integrity of the posts and ensure a secure fit for the screws.
3️⃣Create Threads in the Holes: After drilling the pilot holes, use an M5 drill tap to create threads inside these holes. This step is crucial as it allows the screws to securely fasten the handrail to the posts. Ensure you keep the tap straight and turn it slowly to produce clean threads.
4️⃣Secure with Screws: Finally, attach the handrails to the posts using M5 screws. Depending on the thickness of the handrail and the depth of the post, choose between M5x6, M5x7, or M5x8mm screws. Tighten the screws into the threaded holes until the handrail is securely fastened and doesn’t wobble.
