The night before his wedding, musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) and his fiancée are brutally murdered by members of a violent inner-city gang. On the anniversary of their death, Eric rises from the grave and assumes the gothic mantle of the Crow, a supernatural avenger. Tracking down the thugs responsible for the crimes and mercilessly murdering them, Eric eventually confronts head gangster Top Dollar (Michael Wincott) to complete his macabre mission.

Is a fact when Brandon Lee got shot in the making of this movie it was actually during the flashback scene where they first shoot Eric. One of the guns have malfunctioned and killed Brandon, that gun belonged to the actor who played fun boy, it's because of that that the actor stopped acting instantly after this film and even to the day of his death he never saw the crow because he lives with the guilt of what happened that day

I cant tell you how happy I am that the remake is getting youtubers to react to the original! This film is so amazing. It's got this revenge film with so much heart and a hero you cheer for the whole way.
i was gonna to say quite the same....i am a huge Bruce Lee fan since 1979, for his skills and movies but later also of his Philosophy. I was so damn sorry for his widow wife Linda and his daughter Shannon as Brandon got shot. And for Brandon´s fiancéé Eliza R.I.P. Bruce & Brandon (..i didn´t watched the sequels and don´t watch the Remake/Reboot/Revival, what it called....because I know that none of it can stand up to this movie and is more of a derogatory slap in the face....but thats just my personal opinion

For Brandon Lee. He had so much to live for as an actor had that untimely end not happened to him in 1993.
His role as Eric Draven in this movie is memorable and considered one of his last greatest roles that cemented his legacy.
Brandon Lee was shot during the filming of The Crow. They were almost done filming before he got shot and tragically killed. Both him and his father. Bruce Lee are buried in my home state in Seattle, Washington. I got the privilege to visit their graves and pay my respects a few years ago. I love The Crow such a good movie. No desire to see the new one, though.

The Crow is one of my most beloved films, so to to put in some facts:
The movie is based on the comics from James O'Barr who created it to cope with the death of his fiancee who got killed by a drunk driver. They got into a fight and later he called her and asked her to pick him up, and then she was killed on her way to him, he gave himself the fault for her death.
Brandon and James became great friends while filming the movie, so he was devastated after Brandons death, the woman Eliza, who was mentioned in the credits was Brandons fiancee, they would marry after filming, whom he was friend too.
Alex Proyas, the director, took some freedom from the comic books, but he kept the basic looks of the city, the grim noir looks and the character.
The city in which the film is taking place is Detroid.
Every thug died of what he liked the most: TinTin by his knifes, Funboy by drugs, T-Bird with explosives only Skank died the same way Eric did by falling out of a window.
Eric as the Crow has the ability of shadow melt, thats why he can dis- and reapear so suddenly like in the scene of the final gang shooting.
The character in the graphic novel is much more grim, insane and self destructiv in contrast to the movie.
His main ability is the immortality, but he can shift his powers. If you are watching closely, Erics outfit changes in the course of the film, he adds more and more tape strips, thats because he is cutting himself (in the comics), also he is loosing his healing powers if he uses his powers for other stuff, like driving out the morphine out of Darla. Wounds he receives without his powers remains, so he's taping them up. I'm glad they didn't portraied him as insane and twisted like in the comics.
The person who accidentally killed Brandon Lee is Funboy (Michael Massee), who was traumatised for live after the event and got therapy but never really recovered.
Lees stuntman, and the person who covered him up after his deplorable death, was Chad Stahelski, and yes thats the same guy who directed the John Wick movies. He was also the stuntman for Keanu Reeves in the Matrix movies. They become friends, and thats why Keanu stars in the John Wick movies. Every time we don't see Brandons face it's Chad (and a few move, they reconstructed Brandons face via CGI)
Also, the guy who played T-Bird is Charlie the "Cleaner" in the John Wick movies.

This was the first theatrical adaptation of the comic series of the same name. The actor playing the main police officer (Ernie Hudson) played Winston in the Ghostbusters films. After Brandon Lee was fatally wounded, his face was digitally placed on his stunt double

I'm 43 now, but this movie was ABSOLUTELY ICONIC for my slice of generation x 😎👍I was a teenager, listening to Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden then, and this movie really spoke to me and my peers 😎it really changed the flavor of the 90s 😂this was the first movie I ever saw on opening day, and then 3 more times in the theater ❤️ it's still one of my favorite movies, and thank you for watching it, and respecting the legacy of Bruce and Brandon Lee, two actors that were robbed from us at the brink of stardom 😢❤️
Listening to Nine Inch Nails "Dead Souls" during Lee's rooftop jump always gives me the feels! One of the best 90's soundtracks ever!

My fiances name is Brandon, his mom says she named him after Brandon Lee 🤭 I remember finding this movie on TV when I was a teen, and I didn't know it had such a cult following or was such a big movie, but I loved it so much. I was obsessed with Edgar allen poe at the time too so it was perfect lol
Loved this movie since I watched it the first time when it came out on VHS, when I was 15. The tragic production, the music, the fact that this was a pioneer of great adaptions of a dark graphic novel, perfect storm. In addition it's a great exsample of show don't tell. Well made visual story telling. The movie poster was on my door for several years, also perfect. I need to get a new one.
The son of a legend died same way as his father mysteriously but they we live on. The daughter is an amazing singer she done a cameo in remake of her father life she sings when the actors reveal the pregnancy of her

Brandon Lee died making this movie, the gun was loaded with real ammo, it happened near the end so the guy laying down dying at the end wasn't Brandon
The film is based on the comic book of the same name by James O’Barr. And yeah it’s crazy because Brandon Lee is the son of legendary martial artist Bruce Lee and Bruce Lee died young as well. And what’s even crazier is the creator of the Crow James O’ Barr created The Crow as a way to cope with the death of his girlfriend who died in a car accident. So yeah, it’s crazy. It’s basically tragedy after tragedy after tragedy and the Crow itself is about tragedy. It’s insane. And I saw an interview with James O’Barr talking about Brandon Lee’s death and has said that he regrets creating the Crow because of it. And the actor Michael Massee who shot Lee and has passed away in 2016 has said that he had PTSD because of the incident. But let me say that I’ve read The Crow and it is an amazing comic book. Highly recommend it. It’s the same story as the movie but somewhat different but either way I like them both. As for the new Crow movie coming out I really hope that it’s as good as the original film because there were some things I didn’t like watching the trailers for this and those are the look of the titular character. Seriously he has face tattoos and a mullet should’ve just kept the original look. And another thing is the soundtrack in the trailer we hear Post Malone playing and I like a little bit of Post Malone but it doesn’t go well with the action gothic supernatural tone of the movie. The soundtrack in the original film is definitely something to behold & a lot of people have considered the soundtrack to be more popular than the film itself. The soundtrack included bands like Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Pantera, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Henry Rollins , Violent Femmes & many more. The soundtrack is a masterpiece. And I feel that for this new one that’s coming up they should’ve gotten music from modern rock, metal, Emo, goth, punk bands. I hope that this new one lives up to the original and honors Brandon Lee. Oh and one last thing. Apparently there are 3 sequels to the original movie but are not as good as the original and there was a tv series which starred Mark Decascos and I’ve read that it was good. So yeah, that’s information I got about the Crow.

Such a great movie that I enjoy watching every Halloween. It’s unfortunate it’s overshadowed by all the other great movies that came out in 1994.

you probably meant that Sting was inspired by Brandon Lee. Sting's character was changed in 1996. At various events, he mysteriously appeared in the stands. His new appearance was obviously inspired by the movie The Crow and thus differed greatly from his old appearance as a surfer with colorful face paint. Sting was presented as a kind of silent avenger; he hardly spoke, wore a long black coat and corpse paint

I have low expectations for the remake it has one big bro and one big con. The pro is they went will Bill S, from it over Jason M., from Aquaman. Though the biggest con is this remake didn't need to be made, especially with how Hollywood is.
It’s not a remake it’s an adaptation of the original story. This one is much more faithful whether or not it’s gonna be good that remains to be seen, but I’m gonna give it the benefit of the doubt.
