Collaborations are IN this season! And possibly forever! Singing all the parts of arrangements is fun, but nothing beats the sound of four unique voices that are specialize in the range they’re singing in. And who else is more perfect for the job than my bandmates Andrew Kesler, Evan Sanders, and Simon Åkesson. We got our hands on this arrangement when we traveled to Texas earlier this year to celebrate the music of Gene Puerling in concert, where we were lucky enough to see Gene’s original scores and meet the remaining members of the Hi-Lo’s - dream come true! The collaborators in this video are not just singers, but a driving force to keep this niche genre of music alive. It’s an incredible joy for us to make this music and share it with you. We hope you enjoy it.

Another great performance! When you guys were in diapers, I saw an Off-Broadway performance of "Nite Club Confidential," a sort of stage musical meets film noir. It centered around a singer making his way up to the top by using a big-named songstress on her way down. He started in a group that sounded like the Hi-Lo's called the "High Hopes." This was one of the numbers they performed. I still have the vinyl record of the original cast. I've transferred it to my iPhone and listen to it regularly. You bring back some good memories.

Loved it, from beginning to end! I agree with what you say in your description, that nothing beats the sound of four unique voices. The different timbres really add that extra spark to the overall sound. Although, I've heard each of you in your own solo multitracks and you are all fabulous at that too lol! Thanks for keeping these oldies alive. Oh yeah, I also REALLY enjoyed the video editing. The microphone in the foreground and the classic B&W are great touches, and make for a very classy look. :D

been trying to figure out Andrew's part, but darn it it's so tight at parts (and maybe my ear is pretty out of practice after a few years off the track) that I just can't hear it! What a catchy tune, you guys sang it really well.

First year in highschool my music teacher introduced me to The Hi Lo's and made me a fan of vocal jazz for life. Do you know about their arrangements from the musical Gypsy? I am a big Sondheim fan, and in my opinion Danny Fong meets Stephen Sondheim could only be a good thing! Thank you for the music.
Did you give up on the multi-take combo videos? I miss your voice in all it's forms. You've got great range, use it!
Oh, I forgot to ask... who is doing the bass and drum? Did you snag JB? Or is it digital audio? It's really perfect, just enough in the background that you almost don't hear it, but necessary in that it adds that splash of rhythm, and allows Evan to shine in the quartet. (Poor guy is always stuck singing dm dm dm dm dm......) :D
