A quick note for people wanting to use fewer keybinds: if you bind a key to secondary weapon selection and another to fire secondary weapons, you can control all your suspended armament with the one key. For example, I use 2 to cycle through, and then the secondary weapon bind is Ctrl. Works for ATGMs, AAMs, and Rockets (and I use 3 to select ripple fire quantity for those)

This is good advice. I have almost all of the best helos in game and they're just not worth the pain, especially when grinding them means heli battles or using low tier helis in RB.
Even with the KA50, it will take months to go from 8.3 to 11.3 in Russian helos. If you want it with the US, it'll be even harder. The flip side is that you'll be an ace by the time you get to the top and grinding the AH-1 is actually not awful in RB.
@@CharliMorganMusic Yeah I'm going through the pain through multiple trees, the one bit of advice I'll give to players who want them anyway is spawn in a mostly empty heli ec map with a few friends (hopefully on the enemy team) border hump to a far back spawn and farm them. it's the only practical way to get them

I'm pretty certain the altitude meter tells u ur height above ground and not above sea level.

The altimeter he’s referring to with the IVSI instantaneous vertical speed indicator is AGL, above ground level. It doesn’t look like this UI has a true altitude indicating display which would probably be in the upper right corner.

Falling off the sky is the A-129's thing! 50% of my deaths is do to engine failure; when i try do defensive maneuvers, or when i try to land.

Shame that none of this matters since the grind for Heli's in ground RB is horrendous and Heli EC is unplayable for 8.0 choppers as it's filled with 11.0 choppers.
Ground assault arcade is a decent way to lvl them up, since kills don't matter that much, as long as your team wins.

Much appreciated mate. I've had the KA-50 for a while but have yet to figure out how to use it. This updated video will sure help.
His control recommendations aren't great. A helicopter needs to be able to move and shoot independent of eachother, so I recommend mapping everything that touches your weapon systems to the mouse and everything else to your keyboard.
Most of the time, you don't need this kind of reaction speed, but when a jet is charging you, you need to be able to identify, lock, start shooting, and get out of the way in less than two seconds bc that's the most you'll have.
This control scheme he suggested is great for camping, but it doesn't work when people are actually capable of killing you.
Why would you buy a vehicle you have no idea how to use?
I have KA50 i was cinfused at first bit then i realised gun is on right side so you have to expose it a bit and rockets only shoot when that big box covers the target.

Bind your target lock and unlock to scroll wheel. You can then scroll over things until they lock.

Sometimes I play custom battles and I see people flying helicopters and shooting missiles but when I take mine out it doesn't let me choose the suspended armament, never, but in normal random battles it does...
Also it's more fun shooting them down with a WWII fighter or a biplane

I learned to fly an Apache in DCS for 3 months and barely scratched the surface. Here you are, basically playing a point-and-click railshooter instead, making it look super easy.

what you realy want is the "switch sight mode in cockpit" if you set your cockpit sight to rockets you will get a simpel single point of impackt. it is realy easy to accurately use rockets with that sight. i use it to kill with Mi-24 rockets from about 3-4km away. the Mi-24a is shit though. because it hase such a large target overlay that you cant realy see anytheng else than the overlay :D

I usually main ground and have all my controls down for that, but I don’t really play air as much. Can you make an air tutorial for top tier planes? I see how some people can change what weapons there using and I’ve never really understood it. I’m close to getting the T-2 so it would be nice to know. Anyways, thanks for this tutorial as there still was a few things I didn’t understand about helis.

Is the sight stabilization keybind still able to lock targets with the new update? Ever since it came out when I press the Sight Stabilization key while hovering over a target it just disables it, even after resetting my controls and using the default keybind for it I'm just not able to get a lock.

when you lock on a target what does the circle mean , there aldready the lazer lock on ( square ) on the target and what does counter mesure do exactly and what are they the best suitable against
Chaff blocks Radar
Flares block IR guided missiles.
The circle allows you to make fine adjustments to the targeting system while still maintaining a track on the target.

Suffer, really no other way
Get premium time to increase rewards, focus on AI targets at heli ec. If you're getting spawncamped by a ka50, choose another spawn, they wont chase you. Loss of sight will make it so laser wont track you, ah1 is the best starter heli
There is not a game mode for tech tree helis exept Ground Battles, if you have 8.0br or plus play that

Please help…I play on my Xbox one. I just noticed that when you showed your American tech tree it has multiple premium helos including the ah-64 peten. I only have the yah-64. Why do I not have the other coppers?
The Peten is an Israeli helicopter in real life, when they added the Israeli tech tree, they removed it from the US tech tree. I still have it because I bought it before they removed it. The YAH-64 and the Peten are pretty much the same

Which view mode? Only helicopters armed with missiles have the gunner camera I think

My pitch only does from 0 to 47 to 100 what setting do I use to it can go to 50,55,90, & etc.
On the "edit axis" window, select "relative control" and assign the CTRL and SHIFT keys to increase and decrease value.

There's no need to bind a keybind for sight stabilization and disable sight stabilization, the sight stabilization is a toggle.
You also don't need to bind external view, the Shooter (ATGM) keybind is also a toggle

At about 3 minutes. You called that an altitude meter.....its a VSI. A vertical spees indicator.

The big problem is not have a game mode were we can play hellis on a just way and were we are just food for Ka...

@@rockxstarx4945 even if you play the ka50 with premium time, you do well and you win. you get a measly 7-9k rp average. Playing my huey and doing pretty damn well gave me like 4k. For half an hour of gameplay

You don't; helicopters use a constant RPM; instead, they vary the angle of the rotor blades
