  • In this video, you can learn how to create assemblies from components and perform virtual product inspections before release to the market.
You can construct complex assemblies comprising numerous components, which may be parts or subassemblies. In most operations, the behavior of components remains consistent regardless of type. Linking a component to an assembly establishes a connection where SOLIDWORKS retrieves the component file to display it within the assembly. Any modifications made to the component are automatically updated in the assembly.
Assembly files in SOLIDWORKS are denoted by the .sldasm extension.
There are two primary approaches to creating assemblies:
Top-down Assembly: This method involves creating the assembly by designing parts within the assembly environment.
Bottom-up Assembly: This approach involves assembling components into larger subassemblies and finally into the main assembly.
In this video, you will specifically learn about the bottom-up assembly approach and gain insights into using standard mates effectively.
