There was a time where a rocket from 300 meters away turned you to bits. That is still the case sometimes with the bots. You are running around and taking cover from devastators and then a red blurr passes and you see your team mate or you disintegrated. AND it is ALWAYS a headshot too. I think it’s so interesting how so much of the bots are modeled after 40k. Devastators and Rocket Devastators are Astartes, Heavy Devastators are Astartes in Terminators, Hulks are Dreadnoughts, and factory striders are quadrupedal titans.
striders are definitely from star wars. it is almost copywrite infringment how close the factory striders are to ATAT's from star wars, basically a cross between an ATAT and an AT-TE plus scout walkers in helldivers are pretty obviously clones of ATST's also from star wars.

Honestly, at low levels I thought the shield backpack was better for bots because of the gunfire, but now, as I go into higher difficulties, I find that the shield backpack is actually better for bugs because it stops the hunters from hitting you and slowing you down.

It’s not even the slow effect or their long jump that annoys me. It’s their AI. You see a group of hunters spawn in, and they will take full advantage of their movement speed to not just rush you, but to FAN OUT ACROSS HALF A FUCKING MILE AND ENCIRCLE YOU. They’ll spread out, 2 will go one way, 3 will go another, spreading out side to side and surround you. All the other bugs just steamroll towards you, and it’s a fun test of your firepower and ability to prioritize targets, where if you succeed, you win. Hunters throw that completely off kilter and spread themselves out so they’re always attacking from 3 different angles at all times at the very least.
People saying bugs are harder clearly dont use fire. Take a support weapon that can kill heavies, the incendiary breaker, fire nades, gas strike, napalm strike and a shield or strat for clearing heavies or bug holes. Bam enjoy getting 400+ kills a match.
Automatons on severin sector was a diversion, the major order was given because they did a horus heresy type of blitzkrieg taking cyberstan and nearing super earth in the first 5 hours
If we want to have it be ACCURATE, the bots are more like the scene from Transformers 2 in the kitchen with a toaster shooting bread at you and the fridge covering you in milk It’s a mild inconvenience The bugs are more like the ants in that Indiana Jones movie where they just go across you in a tidal wave
Im going to be honest i feel like bugs are harder than automatons. This could be due to the fact i almost always play against automatons but im just not used to pretty much every enemy trying to get as close to me as possible.
Fighting bugs is pest control on steroids. Fighting bots is like fighting an actual communist army that use human wave tactics over better equipment, then supplement it with a couple really powerful support vehicles, like red army with Mosins supported by IS-2s.
They should add the people liberation army of earth (tresonus seaf and helldivers) that can be interesting if your wonder how I got the name it’s from fucking China basicly it’s you and your team but an ai and you have to kill all 20 before. They kill you and they adapt to your. Playstile but should be rare like not a faction but showing up in random bot or terminid mission it would be interesting to see your team rush your team throwing eagles
Then may I present the illuminate. The Illuminate already were more advanced than super-earth by quite a bit but we beat them in the last galactic war through sheer attrition. But now they've had a hundred years to further advance making them even more advanced than they were when we fought them before and the difference now is that the military will probably be many times larger and more powerful and better equipped because they used to be a peaceful species but now they're going to come seeking revenge for what we did to them so potentially their entire society has been re-engineered for war and if that's the case it's going to be like the covenant when they were steamrolling the UNSC in Halo.

Illuminate were always the easiest faction for me personally I ran solo level 12 with punisher and autocannon with little to no difficulty

for me bugs areannoying because they silently sneak up on you. automatons sing while marching and i can always hear them long before they see me.
