    How far can you curl the bucket AND bend the arm? I've heard that one has to modify the Huinas so that the bucket can be brought almost up to the cab, just like the real thing. As stock they don't have enough movement.. However, the ones with the screw jacks for hydraulic rams (your 1594) do look rather fun to play with.

    Phil, when you were using the "Ball Hook" [ for lack of a better term, I think it's called a grappler ] to pick up the Austin Powers doll, was that chattering the sound of teeth skipping?
    That rig is obviously not of the same quality as the units used in RC Sparks' Gold Mining show (several thousand dollars, each) so it'd be unfair to compare. I imagine a beginner or newbie might like it, though, on the coffee table for, uh, stirring coffee? That rock-splitting attachment made me laugh, though!

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  Před 2 lety +5

      Yes, it’s was slipping, but not sure if it’s a fail safe to stop it getting damaged. Certainly not comparable to RCSparks stuff… but it’s $300 compared to $3000+. I may be getting the all singing and dancing hydraulic one to do a side by side comparison.. that would be good

  • @999benhonda
    @999benhonda Před 2 lety

    the controller arrangement looks improved, but the real problem these had were the gear systems...especially for the bucket and forward part of the boom. The gears are thin, so to keep you from stripping them, they have a slipper clutch system...that is the clicking you hear. But the springs on those slipper clutches let it slip before any really power is applied. The tread drive and main boom are both able to apply an impressive bit of force...but with the bucket and forward boom so weak, you can't really dig into anything but the very softest of sand...I mean like light, fluffy stuff that has already been dug up.
