That's wild. I think Bungie wants you to only report people you've actually matched, so maybe they assumed your friend was misusing reports to troll a streamer. I have seen people try to call out "wall hacks" when it's just Wish Ender or True Sight. Not saying your friend did this, but it's a fairly common mistake
The fact that bungie will ban you for unknowingly joining a fireteam with a cheater, but will allow afk/macro farmers to pad the games play time show they dont actually give two craps about "integrity"
In pretty sure thats how my old account got banned (maybe?) I played a lot of crucible and trials and I'm sure we both know there's alot cheaters in trials. Sometimes I'd get 1 on my team then I'd leave after Ive seen them cheat cuz I just wanna confirm.

Using cheats and using afk macros/macros in general are 2 different things.
Win trading? I remember seeing my boy on the opposite team. We proceeded to target each other. We have been friends for 5 years now. He won that battle but that war is not over.
A really weird way to get banned is if you bust out an old Xbox and play the desinty 2 beta you get banned for playing on unknown servers

I've seen a lot of cheating get resolved. I've came up against many of them in the past, and have gotten many thank you pop ups in orbit from Bungie. Maybe it's not cheating that you see, it could just be they're really good at a gun game full of weapons that essentially "cheat" in any other game.
Ngl some of these are very jerky of Bungie to impose. I personally find no problem with sharing personal info if people want to, and network issues are something that are hard to prove and can easily lead to false bans. Same with the cheat software thing. Now to be fair, it's not exactly Bungie's fault as the software is just doing it's thing, but investigations should be made to be sure that the software isn't used in Destiny - except maybe macros bc you can only use them in pve and there isn't anything that bungie is loosing if someone is farming xp. Just saying. The modified hardware though is utter bullsh**. I haven't seen anyone get banned personally bc of it, but for gosh sakes, as long as they aren't cheating or using it to get an unfair advantage, let then play the game on whatever they want.

Bungie doesnt want to add Linux support even though battleye supports Linux, they just think that it’ll lead to more cheaters. Circumventing Destiny’s OS detection will get you banned unfortunately.

@@AriFox83 Installing Windows on your Steam Deck and playing Destiny on that isn't a ban offense but causes serious lag and requires playing on really low graphics.

I got banned when I forgot to turn off the cheat engine while testing an indie game and went on a raid at the call of the clan. the program didn't do anything, it just hung in the tray.
Other online games do not allow themselves to start or give a warning window, although 90% of games are not affected because this program cannot do anything due to the fact that all the data is on the servers.
i always close down my cheat engine after im done with the flash game or what have you...

Bro I got banned the same way. Had a chest engine for elden ring installed that changes singular file #s and would be useless on D2. Had it running still and opened D2, was banned before I even got to character select. Like give a warning saying it’s open or like you said other games do,,, don’t let the game open with this running 🙏
The kick from the fire team at the end part happened to me once. We were doing kings fall, I carried my whole friend group, We beat the boss. THE FIRE TEAM LEADER KICKED THE WHOLE GROUP!

I had some guy sword attack me so I couldnt get a chest after a strike.
Luckly for me once I realized what he was trying to do I got around him.
I was still brand new which made it worse :/

I just love how internet is punished by the game. Just like, give forgiveness for if someone disconnects. Like it limits pvp and their servers are worse than the mcdonalds wifi some people use to play it.
I dont even have that bad of internet. But i rarely play pvp because I'll just randomly get disconnected. Even if i wasnt lagging
nobody’s getting banned for the occasional disconnect. if you have shitternet you shouldn’t be playing pvp.

Turns out I can get banned for living in a city without good internet providers. Great.
Just don't play competitive PvP modes, and realistically you shouldn't when you're banding around, getting kills, and the other team has to deal with your anomalous ass. My internet is currently trash, and I've just sucked it up and am waiting until we can actually get a better hookup and service.

It's frustrating they ban for quitting because I am single mom with a disabled kid and if my kid needs me mid match I have to dip. Thankfully I never had this happen but it's frustrating. It's why I stay away from all PVP which negates half the game for me. But oh well I don't want to get banned.
They absolutely do not. I’ll sparsely have to leave a strike or crucible match and they don’t even give you the pop-up saying “Don’t quit matches” anymore. You just load into orbit next time like nothing happened.
One of my friends quits like every other pvp match I've seen him play and he hasn't been banned so
@rubidium1948 I have heard people getting banned from friends. Maybe they just scared the crap out of me. 🙃 still because there is a good chance if I got into PVP I have to step away its probably better to not risk other people's experiences either. Maybe I am too nice for Destiny 🤣
@@IdontgiveaduckBungie doesn't say why you're banned, and I doubt people who are banned will admit what they did. So do you really think those people got banned for leaving games, or maybe they did something worse like cheating, and are too embarrassed to say?
i think its mostly for trials players who consistently leave match after match.

I've had a notification about connection issues and said if it continues my account might be restricted. but never got another notice afterwards so my guess it cleared up.

I can assure you if you are running cheat software that can be detected by battle eye you are screwed but if you are offline playing something silly like wemod, you aint gonna be banned.
i mean i use cheat engine for single player flash games, but that's about it.

i reported someone who stopped my team from progressing in a raid by sabotaging the puzzle. he got banned hard.
I was kicked after a trials game for getting multiple sniper kills at a time. They invited me back a sec after noticing I had on cloudstrike 😂
Me and my friend were running crucible last year and he pulled out ruinous effigy once we learned how fast dunking the orbs could kill. Well after a few matches of that he gets a 2 week suspension from all crucible activities. I was kinda confused and we still don’t know why he got suspended.
I got banned for cheating in Skyrim a few years back lmao
Thankfully, support reversed it, but that was one of the most terrifying things that ever happened to me in this game lol
The cruz incident. Cruz had artmoney running in the background for an old RTS. the problem with artmoney is it scans the memory of any game that is running so that you can alter values within the game. do you see wherein the problem lies. that scan set off battleeye twice. As from what i saw, is that you get a warning first and if you do not comply. you get banned. Now if he had made sure artmoney was completely off before booting up destiny then there would have been no problems
Still stupid it allows a game to start while clear attempts to edit the data. Like honestly it’s pretty dumb they let it startup with it running.

Fun fact about the steam deck, you CAN play it on the steam deck if you swap OS to Windows, the reason you can't play Destiny on the steam deck out of the box is because EAC isn't supported on native linux

about the 1st one, acount sharing, whats bad about it excatly? what does it matter that someone else farms loot for you, whether it's paid or free? or has it to do with the pvp lobbies where your account gets put in similar skill levels as the others?
I go on my bfs account and get him better loot and aspect because he doesnt have enough time to play the game so its a dumb rule

Most times if you’re account sharing with someone from a paid carry site, the person using your account is cheating and you’ll get banned for it
Note you can play destiny on steam deck without getting banned because the issue is that steam deck runs linux and not windows so if you install windows and play destiny that way, you're fine.
Back in trials of the nine. Denial of service was so bad that I was restricted from pvp for 2 weeks because my connection was bad. What really was happening was people were flooding my ip with packets and I'd get kicked out of matches

It sounds crazy to me if you were a dev and game builder you probably don’t want battle eye on your system. Like I mod msfs and xplane because that’s a huge point of owning a simulator. I have a ton of enhancements for shaders and payware for assetto corsa

“Bungie takes anything related to network manipulation very seriously” - Bungie proceeding to not ban hundreds of obvious cheaters and limiters that you can easily find on rr and other 3rd party sites 😑
Also to clarify if bungie would just talk to members of the community there are well known cheaters that have been getting away with limiting/cheating for years with almost no consequences.
I was warned for "frequent quitting". But I was constantly kicked out of the game and not deliberately quitting. Turned out keeping my nvidia driver updated prevented me from getting kicked.
I went fishing few days ago to get rid of the bait and get some final rewards i went fishing didn’t move a bit just none stop casting i was watching anime and just listening for the hook to real the fish in after like 20min no public events at all i has happy and kept fishing not MOVING JUST PRESSING BUTTONS and out of nowhere i was kicked for being inactive and since the fish dont go to the post master all my bait was nearly gone and all my catches lay dead floating in the river and me without my loot im forever glad fishing is gone now Fthem inactive sensors that bungie has i was actively playing that thing
There's a creator that sells emblems given to them by Bungie meant for giveaway type raffles. The fact that his store is still up is baffling.
As far as the quiting mid match goes, sometimes it literally can't be helped because a person could get bungied (kicked back into orbit)
I'm surprised at how fast they are to ban/'take action' against people that use network manipulation. i've seen a lot of super sus lagging guardians in pvp, so i report for them network severe, and usually the next day or day after i get the notif that action was taken.
About half of these fall under the umbrella of "don't be stupid stupid" lol, but really jokes aside this was an interesting video i didn't realize a lot of these

If players spent as much time playing as they do trying to find ways to cheat, cheats wouldn't be used. There are always going to be those who want all the rewards for just logging in.
i got banned because i was matchmade with a subtle cheater and me and the other innocent guy got banned. honestly bungie is extremely cringe with some of the ban policies.
Something I’d like to point out is that a lot of pvp content creators that steam often accuse people of cheating, or using “xims” and other game altering devices. A popular streamer that people enjoy watching has accused me of being an account recovery the 4 times we’ve matched in trials and the first match we played against each other he got chat to search me up and laughed calling me a xim after seeing my overall trials kd was X and my seasonal kd being like a .5 diff.
I have completed season passes on my brothers account. Interesting.
Nah that's wild they don't allow you to have programs that modify other games crazy that they can see whats installed isn't that a breach of privacy
A couple years ago I got banned twice for poor internet, once for 3 days then for 3 weeks. You get 3 chances with a poor connection before a permanent ban.

Honestly this is one of the best banning policy and is almost perfect, only issue being it shouldn't ban you from cheating at single player game or co-op game with friends and for macro because bungie is very very far from being good at game design let's be honest (looking at you exotic class item, like how can something that will literaly statisticly speaking might take hundred of hours to get good stuff on every character a good game design choice, most people literaly don't have enough free time to farm them and bots/macro would be a soltuion for them)
After a game (i forgot which one i think it was a control or competitive match) someone called me braindead because I was the last one left and i died which cost us the match
about the automated softwares like macros for the wishwall and stuff. They actually stated that using complex macros will get you banned...while the wishwall macro is a very complex script it doesn't count as complex macro for example....and using a macro for movement mechanics like well/shatter skating also is fine...but using macros to not get kicked or macros to afk farm will get banned...if they see pattern of inputs that doesn't change that goes for multiple hours actually will get you banned...a friend for example used a macro to spam the interact key to get a very high number on the goodboy protocol(patting the exo dawg) and got perma banned for it. He told bungie he only used the macro for this and bungie knew it was only for this but they still didn't want to unban him.
This video makes me realize why destiny 2 is so team based, everyone who hates other people are banned

I met a guy in crucible about 5d ago, a hunter and you cant tell me this guy wasnt using aimbot or something, 30 kill streak all headshots with handcannon or sniper never missing and its in rapid succession ive never seen that type of shit
I'm not too fond of the misinformation about Cruz. As someone with MANY cheats installed on my PC, there's no risk of being banned unless you're actively running them while playing the game (or, you know, cheating). If you're doing that, you obviously deserve a ban. Don't be careless, and don't cheat.

Back in 2020, my clan got our name banned after a 6v6 crucible game. The other clan, made up of nearly 100 people all mass reported us multiple times.
Our name got banned for being “sexual”. Our name was ErisMornsStinkyToes. Based on the fact she was barefoot. We were teens. Anyways, we now know Bungie thinks toes are sexual. So that’s gross.

A lot of solo players used boosting services for a long time. There are some good and some bad services out there. Some that’ll will respect code of conduct and are against third party cheating and others who say but are a scam. I used boosting services for years and been safe ever since. And others as well.
I know someone who got banned before creating their first account and character.

the cheats in question can pretty easily be altered to work for other games. and there is probably no way for an anti cheat to detect whether a cheat is for another game or not
Pretty sure you're allowed to play on the Steam Deck, as long as you do it running Windows. SteamOS (or any other Linux distro) is another matter though.

I got suspended from crucible once in witch queen for having some lag issues and i got suspended for like 2 weeks
So the thing about macros is that Bungie has kinda walked back on it a lot.
They are ok with macros being used for menial things (e.i wish wall or old school shard farming)
BUT they are not ok with something like using macros to circumvent gameplay or do things you cannot normally do without it.
So If your thinking on using say a Wellskating macro that’s more of a grey area for me..

I got kicked from the raid team after we downed the boss even tho I was helping out with teaching the raid… than they raid reported me and posted it in chats and shit even tho nobody cares about raid clears in the group I play with, we do the raids for fun. But some people like to ego me for some reason.

I hate “as designers intended” reasoning. No I don’t know wtf your intention is. Within a game world, If it’s possible, it should be permissible. If they choose to patch it out after that’s fine. But how is any person supposed to assume what’s intentional design and what isn’t. Just make the game better so it isn’t susceptible to being exploited lol
