the difference between these covers and Demi is that she has gone through everything she sings, I am not saying that the participants have not gone through something similar, the point is that nobody better than Demi to truly represent the lyrics of their songs.

@@jamalmorrow7058 what they actually meant was only the original singer could sing their songs the way theyre meant to be and only they could convey the true meaning of the song and their voice fits the most as well. Like, sober covers.. anybody could sing it, it's not that difficult vocally (neither is it meant to be), but not a single soul delivered the emotions. personally i cant even get through the og song without miserably breaking down but the covers dont even really bring that vibe.

Luis Fonsi was the only one who didn't turn around for the girl at 12:28 because he knows how a Demi Lovato song should sound. In the girl's defense, English is clearly not her first language.
There is no defense honestly cause it's belting notes not a whole new language 🤣 She shouldn't sing a song with such high notes and emotion if she's terrible at portraying that. That's the only one of these I didn't loke

What makes a majority of Demi's songs so exceptional is the meaning and personal pain behind them. It gives the songs depth and emotion. If this isnt experienced by some of these singers, sure, they may have great voices, but they will never reach that threshold of making the song hit people in the same melodically beautiful way. With that being said, I cant speak to these performer's life experiences, only my own and the significance of Demi's inspiration for songwriting.
I rarely hear Demi Lovato songs used in competitions. When I asked my singer friend to sing a demi lovato song for a school competition, she just said that she couldn't risk the high notes and afraid of butchering the song.

U can tell when people who sing sober have never had to battle an addiction. Demi is the most beautiful woman on earth for not hiding her true self from her fans. So yes shes the only one who can sing these song right because she lived/ wrote them.

Just me who gets annoyed when people sing sober while smiling, or not showing emotion? Also when they add complicated vocals, it’s a simple song for Demi to explain her feelings
Padfoot Lovato yeah but they gave to put complicated vocals. That’s how they impress the coaches. If they show emotions, they REALLY have to show their emotions to get them to turn their chairs.
Arnav Vaidyanathan if they really had a connection with the song they could easily sing it w/ out the complicated things. I just think it’s that type of song you don’t just sing for fun

They’re all amazing but no one sang it as good as she did. Big shoes beautiful voices no doubt. You can hit those notes even with your own spin BUT some songs it's deeper than that. Demi has managed to put every ounce of pain into a pitch perfect song but the conviction behind her performance is untouchable.. as always beautiful voices
