The multicolour bags are my first love.
I love Almas so much! I started with a BB in black epi, and then over time I noticed that every time I saw old pictures of Almas in LV books and such, I'd just gush over them. So now I have the PM in DE and PM in white multicolor. Debating whether to add a MM or maybe another color from the archives. Such a classic!
Question! So, when I got my multicolor I was stunned at how heavy the hardware was. When you got everything replaced, is the replacement hardware the same as the original?
Thank you. Yes, when hardwear is replaced it’s replaced from the archives with exactly the same pieces made in the same era.

I bought my bags when I was very young, and spent so much money when could not afford them... So now I'm very careful acquiring new LV bags... but they are and were my first love! Yep, the bubblegram is called blue glacier. I got it in the Over The Moon style with guitar strap. The Alma is definitely iconic. I feel like the Epi leather is synonymous with the Alma. Just love it with that leather. Your Epi colors are gorgeous. The Azur with white trim and braided handle, I die, it is that good.

Love your collection! I’m currently collecting Alma’s. I have 3 in my collection so far; 1 pm (epi) , 1 mm (vernis), 1 bb (vernis). They are just so beautiful, classy and classic!
GM’s I’ve been iffy about because I feel like they might be too big (I’m 5’4).
I’m 5’4 and I love my GM!
Almas are so beautiful, especially the Almas in vernier (if I could, I'd buy all the colors! TRR has a lot of them, although in very good but not pristine condition).
They are beautiful!
You have to baby the patent leather ones and in particular keep them out of the sun and heat.
They're definitely a seasonal winter bag.
The sun degrades the PVC coating and makes it sticky. Once it gets sticky there is no return.

I personally love the Alma’s but I’m sick hearing they are now dated 😥🤬 . I have 8 , 4 being the patent leather which I think get the roughest deal out of all the finishes . Thanks for sharing Meredith and good luck with your search for the silver , I’ll keep my eyes open xx

The pros are it’s beautiful. The only cons are it is more delicate then most other leathers, especially in a light colour.

Gorgeous collection Meredith, I’ve always wanted a monogram GM just couldn’t ever pull the trigger. I didn’t think I’d ever use it but I bought the Hermes Bolide 37 last year and have used it a few times this year so I believe I’ll go ahead and buy the GM now. I really want to add some more multi colour to my collection but have such a hard time finding them without chipping of screen print or the lining bleeding through in the US it’s difficult to find in good condition.

I must ask what your thoughts are on empreinte leather? It is my fave leather from LV (with some handbags) but I don’t have an Alma in empreinte yet; have been eyeing 👀- lol, anyway the fact that you don’t either, made me curious. Maybe I’ve missed something? 🤷🏼♀️

Thank you so much. I don’t actually have any Alma’s in the empreinte. The leather is beautiful but I fond Alma’s are so structured they need a more structured leather. For me the empreinte gives the bag a more pliable look, which is great if that’s what you want, but for me I like the structure.

Meredith, what do you think of the Alma BB in vernis leather as an everyday?
I think it’ll show a lot of finger prints and will scratch easily. Beautiful finish but not everyday friendly.

It changes bag to bag. LV will always do a quote for you and you can even ask prior to actually buying a bag second hand. Do a hypothetical quote so you know if you want to commit to it or not.

I’m also a sucker for the white multi colour, and hope to find one eventually. Growing up seeing the multi colour everywhere got me hooked. Fell in love with it. Yet to purchase one but it’s my all time fave.
I always shop at the main store on Collins Street when I go to Melbourne. The multicolour are definitely iconic!

I have one Alma pm in MC Black .. I have asked for a BB in the lagoon blue epi .. Do you wear the bags ? I’ve had the MC for many years and used it once but if I get the BB I plan to use her ❤. I actually have a lot of bags I just look at and don’t use 🤷♀️
I would wear them all, but that doesn’t mean I do. I wear them as I want.
