Very good informative video...The con really isn't a con to me. It's their way of making the agents have "skin in the game". 🤷🏾♀️ I've been looking for a host agent and most seem to be more focused on MLM and not travel. I want to know more about the contract now.

Great overview, but "silent partner" can also mean "no support." You get what you pay for. Pay more, get more support in terms of onboarding, ongoing training, marketing, leads, and ultimately growth of your business.
Absolutely true... The reality of this industry is that new business owners need business support that many host agencies will not invest alone. Business owners need to invest in themselves to fill the gaps they are missing. And sometimes that investment is in money and/or time.

That's decided by you and the supplier you use for a specific trip

Good morning... yes there alot of MLM hosts... The individual embarcid can not be purchased without being associated with a primary agency. Each agency has the right to define how it will approve associations under them.
So with them do the do the training like with cruise company or Disney to help you to be able to sell those vacations? Also do you know what their range of commissions are ?
Yes they provide access to supplier training. I believe they start at 80-20 split

Hi! No we're a fully independent agency. I do recommend a host agency when you're just starting out but check this video out to see if independence is right for you.

how do we get rates from vendors if we are working with a host agency? appreciate your reply because I am really confuse if the host agency already have the rates from vendor or we need to get it ourselves directly from the vendor

Has anyone heard of Gateway Travel? I’m deciding between these 2 hosts.
I would like to compare this one to Boardwalk Travel Agency they are only $99 to sign up and thats it. No monthly fees

how do I know if one of them is a scam?
Lets say I am on vacation for a few days.Does it have a consumer booking tool that clients can also book without direct contact with the agent while i am on my personal vacation(air,hotel,cruise etc)?
No Outside Agents does not have a consumer booking tool like that. There are many suppliers that will extend their sites to allow you to do this but it's on a 1 supplier at a time feature. My recommendation would be to create your own booking tool.

They do not require it but I recommend it unless you are not serious about making this a business.

Hi Anna! Depends on how you book...if you book without taking any Travel Agent discounts, normally yes.
So for my goal I don't really care to book trips for others, if I do great but it's majority for me
@@annap1050 I read on one of the reviews that you have to have to keep a 3:1 client travel to your travel ratio and that was from the owner himself to an agent... so idk if that will work but anything is worth a shot
Yeah they’ll terminate your account if you are only booking for yourself

No they do not as is the case with most host agencies
Do they allow use of their IATA NUMBER ?
You can use as it relates to signing up with Travel Suppliers that require it but you will need to earn your own IATA based on sales performance.
where can I find a list of their preferred suppliers? I don't think they post them individually on their site... I've looked..
They do not publish that publically. Once you sign up you get access to their supplier list.
@@OnlineTravelBoss I was afraid to hear that. I need find a video on youtube where they were showing agents how to work their system, and they pulled the list up, it looked very extensive. wording was blurred but I did see major cruise companies for sure...

Can you use outside agents and another host agency at the same time until you’re able to gain the clia and iatan from outside agency?
You can use 2 host agencies at a time as long as there is no legal contractual reason preventing you from doing so. However you want to ensure that if you are trying to get your CLIA or IATA that you hve to accummulate $5000 under one agency to qualify. Meaning... outside agents will approve your application once you hit $5000 in commissions .. but if you are booking under 2 agencies it will take you longer to accummulate under 1 agency. Does Outside Agents provide certification course for me to become a licensed travel agent?
No... there isn't a license really in this industry. CLia provides certifications in cruising. Suppliers provide certificates of completion of their training. If you sign up with a host agency... the host agency will allow you to use their credentials to book with suppliers like their CLIA, ARC numbers, etc. which gives you the ability to book and receive commission.
Can I use VAX, Go Funjet, and Espresso if I have Outside Agents as my host?
Yes all these are suppliers that you'll be able to register with under Outside Agents.

If you don’t mind me asking , how long does it take to get approved with suppliers after registering with them. I’m in the process of transferring from another Host Agency, but I’m also in the middle of working with several bookings. I really didn’t want to switch in the middle of the bookings but at the same time, I’m being charged very high fees, versus very little training, and definitely have not received any help from my “team lead”. So I’m looking to do the switch immediately!

I’m new to this but I see a lot of agents on social media setting up group trips. For example they will pick a destination and a date and try to gain customers for just that one trip. Is this something that came be done with this host agency?
Yes absolutely you can do this with a host agency. However unless you have a large following or list I would not recommend this strategy to start with for group trips.
I have a question for you. I’ve been looking into finding a host agency myself and was considering Outside Agents. Like you mentioned about the CLIA #, you have to earn $5000 in commission before you can apply for that. Do they allow you to use their CLIA # as a independent agent? I’ve read articles where agencies allow you to use theirs as it’s like an umbrella corporation that you are affiliated with/under. I know of some agencies that offer it to you up front but I don’t like other things about them. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Yes you're able to use their CLIA and the commissions you gain are counted towards the $5k commission to qualify to receive your CLIA card

@@bryceo6937 you want an independent travel agent card so you can get TA benefits and rates from suppliers... you use OA# to book client travel but can't use it for TA rates and discounts

In creating a personalized page with Outside Agents must we use the OutsideAgents handle on my email? I want my own company featured where OA is silent in the workings of the website that I create. Is this possible?
You'll have to check with there support center. But get your own domain and see if you can connect it.
How long is the contract with Outside Agents?
I believe its 1 year but you would need to contact them to be for sure.

Yes I believe so. They do require you to actively sell.

I’m currently a TA with inteletravel but it’s not going well for me the monthly fee too high and I been there for 4-5 month and I only made $7 and I didn’t never see that deposit on my account. Same I had to pay $200 to start up and $200 a month. I went practically broke trying to pay the monthly fee and I barely got clients. I had no help in marketing and I was paying for training classes myself.

They do. The others I know of that do are Avoya, Oasis Travel Network, and Travel Leaders Network. I've been doing some research myself. ;) Best of luck!

@@Lb2Shay I'm still working in a storefront travel agency. But I am pregnant and would really love to start from home soon. This should be a good push in the right direction! I'm not sure what I'm going to do still. I may apply to work from another agency's customer service agents department so I don't have to generate so many referrals or go with Avoya as a host as they offer referrals.

HI, I called OUTSIDE AGENTS however no one can tell me how much I would get paid. I know the spilt but how much will the company pay out to the vender.
Every supplier pays a different commission anywhere from 5 to 20%

No it is not. There is no recruiting at all.
If you can't get your CLA card until u reach $5000 in sales how do u sale?
you can get a CLIA membership check there site... your host agency may not approve your individual membership until you reach a certain commission amount. You can continue to sell using the host agency credentials.

They disclose after you sign up. That's pretty typical. My experience is that you'll have access to who you may need and if they don't have a relationship they'll work to get one.

Alot of suppliers... I would reach out to them via their site and inquire if you are looking for a particular supplier.

@@cyndisays ita not the host agency its the suppliers. You've got to work with the right suplliers that give you the flexibility to create your own plans or offer them.

I've been with them for 7 years and I don't like them. You are not allowed to get ID cards, or go on FAM TRIPS.. I Don't like them..
Looks like it maybe time for you to go independent or switch host agencies. Did you catch the latest training I did on how to become fully independent?
That's disconcerting!!! Seven years and not one FAM trip? I'm deciding now and my top two choices were KHM and TPI. I began looking at OA, but I do not want to wait more than a year to attend FAMs, inspections etc.

Without the CLIA do you still see lower rate? Is there a database or portal that being signed up with this actually gets you access to? I’m just trying to see if this is actually worth it for myself and also booking travel for my friends and family.
