Actually there is a working solution. The waiter agreed to bump one but refused deductions earlier. He could have agreed to the deduction to solve the problem.

In the first episode, Leonard stated that he and Sheldon have a combined IQ of 360; Leonard has an IQ of 187, and Sheldon has an IQ of 173
@@anuugoosheldons iq is 187 and if added as 280 then leonards iq is 93 , which is very under average ( average is anywhere between 100 to 105 ) and leonard also says in this video at 8:47 " you are not the only one in this room who is smarter than everyone else " so 280 is very very far off
