  • Temperatures getting cool for the mornings now with winter arriving. Headed down to the Logan River for an afternoon session and found a few fish. Enjoy!

Yeah it’s a system I’ve only fished 3 times and that’s over 3 years haha…a lot more exploring to do!

Love how gentle you were with the flatty.
I love this new way thinking when it comes to recreational fishermen. I used to get a bit sick in my gut when I used to see the way fish used to be thought of and handled. Like they have zero feelings and are solely there for our needs. It was common to see things like piles of dead catfish on the bank, because people didn't like catching them and had no personal use for them. I remember as a child we went to take the big boat out from its mooring at Redland bay and in the shallows was this huge stingray but some fucker had cut its back tail off and left it alive to suffer. I never forgot that.. One of my Fathers friends back then was a real keen fisherman but he thought nothing about finishing off his stubby of bear and then throwing the bottle over when finished. This was common place in my day.
Do that sort of shit with the fishermen of today and you will get kicked off the boat with your arse kicked.
Nowadays its all handle with absolute care and release what you don't need. You still get the odd dickhead or two but for the most part, true fishermen/women appreciate their prey and respect its environment. If you don't it will be back the way it used to be in the 80's where the bay was so abused and overfished (commercial especially) you were hard pressed finding anything to catch.
I have nothing but respect for the younger generation coming up. An educated understanding of the ecosystem and fish accordingly. You and your generation have taught me the right way and this time its the young teaching the old. Cheers.

Appreciate the kind words..believe it or not I sometimes feel guilty catching fish but it’s my passion..try to treat all fish with respect, well maybe except pike 😅…main reason I mostly use soft plastics is that single hooks do less damage than trebles and I don’t think I’ve ever had a fish swallow the lure so far down I couldn’t get it out without harm.

Thanks mate..Won’t lie it’s a pretty sketchy area..barely call it a ramp as bunch of rock in mud and few big ruts but ppl do launch small tinnies there..not much water a low tide either
