- LEGO train track setup with 350m tracks, big bridges as well as automated switches and an automated train station.
Installed rails:
376 straight rails (32 studs)
746 straight rails (16 studs)
350 curves R40
112 curves R56
192 curves R72
64 curves R88
32 curves R104
64 curves R120
64 curves R136
54 switches
47 x-train crossings (2 inputs + 2 outputs)
2 6-way crossings (3 inputs + 3 outputs)
1 20-way crossing (10 inputs + 10 outputs, see • Growing LEGO Train Cro... )
376 flexible rails
In total, more than 350 meters of rails for up
to 15 trains.
Additionally, about 28k LEGO pieces have been used for building the bridges, including
- 6.4k 2x4 bricks
- 5.5k 2x2 bricks
- 3.5k 2x2 round bricks
- 4k plates
21 of the switches are controlled automatically (3x51515) or powered up hubs (7xTechnic Hub, 2xCity Hub), i. e. trains are detected by infrared/ distance sensors, which causes the switch to change direction randomly. The EV3s change the direction just when detecting an incoming train (rising edge), all other robots wait until the train passed the sensor (and the switch) completely and changes the direction afterwards (falling edge). The powered up hubs are programmed using Pybricks (pybricks.com). See github.com/Tegowalik/LEGO-Swi... for more information.
3 Mindstorms 31313 are used to create an automated train station which detects incoming trains and leads those to the smallest free platform which is large enough for the train. A showcase video will be released soon. Note that the trains still need to be controlled (and stopped) manually. Only the switches are automated (so trains can't crash into each other).
Multiple trains are using 2 powered up motors (see • LEGO Powered Up Tutori... and github.com/Tegowalik/Pybricks... for more information).

This is what I call dedication
You mean "I don’t understand how people can do this, stunning, this is the quintessential London melody, I love the video! 10/10?" as I only understand english.
@@thenetheriteminecart384 Yes but it's not the London melody it's the London network, excuse bad English
@@Peca11 Okay I only understand English but I used AI to translate your comment.
I love the way that 60337 moves around the wider radius curves.
this is amazing - I especially love the center multiple-crossing 😅 great work 🤠
Really good thanks for this video
Awesome 👍🔥
Perfekt!!
Cool 😊, das ist mal ein ordentlicher Schienenverlauf 👍
Wow how many rails, great! I am also developing a large railway network in my city
Thanks a lot!@@aishatdjoubatirova3756
Lots of batteries here 🤣 Good job on automation, I know it's difficult ✌
Awesome!
Yes wenn man den Platz hat. 👍🏻
imagine if you had every lego motorized train running all at the same time
Just subscribed. What an incredible amount of complicated 3D printed track pieces
Who said they were 3D printed
@@Lockinhardenemyquite obvious they’re 3D printed, maybe not all but a good chunk are. I see trixbrix pieces quite often throughout the video and some of the bridges and lifts are too. Kinda pointless to type this comment, mine is too, but at least it’s defending someone. Get some context clues bud
It was so fast you are so cool
Wonderful video
sehr schön, LG Dietmar
I REALLY want to see how to set something like this up. I wouldn't make anything as massive as this, but having a train yard where any train could come and go at a time would be great
Really cool look at my lego tunnel
Amazing.
Greetings Inu
That red lego loc looks like a br189
Wow!!!
How much did this all cost? It looks so cool
Bro ,,where should i but all these big tracks,,trains,,stations,,all products...I need an information..can anyone help me giving information 😊❤
1 slight over the speed limit and it's over

Gomez Addams would like it so much! 😅

SSSSIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCKKKKKKK!
Are those tracks from Trixbrix?
Yes, at least some of them, e.g. the double straights (32std), R88, R104, R120, R136 curves and most of the crossings. R56 and R72 curves are from BlueBrixx as well as many 16std straights. All the other rails are made by LEGO
I have the eletric green train
Could you tell my, what's the point of this setup?
Is it a tech demo? Is it for fun?
This amount of tracks and sensors and motors is a fortune, I'm really curious why did you do this setup at all. :)
It is really just for fun. We are a couple of families who get together once a year to build such a huge setup for a few days. Everyone brings their own parts (tracks, trains, mindstorms, ...), so the "fortune" is divided between several people
@@Tegowalik okay, now I got it. For first as a layout, as acollection it didn't make sense for me at all, but now seeing that is property of different people and all this put together for a meetup now it is clear :)
I had the same question
I understand the appeal of this. But me for all modelling is about imitating reality.
Coll das du deutsch bist
What did your wife say when you put all the furniture in the garden to build this? :D
Nice flex😞i only got 2 broken one one green cargo one yellow passanger train theh are both destroyed 😞
