- Got it out of the weeds today . Then hopped on a Detroit powered Allis Chalmers dozer . FWD is the make of the truck . It has all axles powered . Here is a video of the antique trucks used to move the tractors ; • 1963 Peterbilt - Siemb...

Can you imagine a modern piece of equipment when it gets this old? All the electronics will be shot and the damn things won't run.
Yeah, but we had to go there and let the Japanese fuck with our stuff, the most screwed up part is that they don't even use all of those computers and crap they built for our vehicles, they manufacture their trucks as simple as that one.
in 1956 that engine design was already 30 years old
@@jomarz1828 if japan did it it would be high quality. Look again where 60_70 percent of "american vehicles" parts come from and built to sir topum hats high standards🤣🤣🤣
Diesels don't need electronics to run .
As a retired Naval EN , I learned to how to shoot and rebuild these with my eyes closed .
Nice! Pretty rare truck. It has the IH comfo-vision cab. That 6-71 sure sounds sweet!
Thanks for saving the old iron, brialliant.
Nice truck, nice video,👌
So well made!! What a nice truck!!! I need one!!!
Oh man, would I love that ol' girl!
A F.W.D.,6X6!
A Detroit!
Cabin on the back, here I come.
They did make good stuff -the good old days Detroit's Diesels 71and 92 series this engine's will run for ever Thanks for posting this video God bless You all
Looks to be lots of room for a 12V 71 in there. Love it when old iron is running again.
I like it! Gotta love old iron. Thanks for sharing.
Maaaan, a lot of great people have looked at and passed that truck in their lifetimes. What a time capsule.
These are the two fastest moving vehicles I have seen on youtube! :)
🙏😌😌😌
look at that frame.no rust what'so ever ,amazing.built to last
That old diesel sounds sooo good!
Nice find!!!! Old trucks never die they live forever
Imagine the trips it made..... Lovely video.....
Gotta love that sound!
And thats why Detroit Diesel 2 strokes are the best engines ever made !
FWD trucks were also built in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. We used to bike over and watch the trucks moving around the yard. Damn shopping mall where the plant was, rail spur is long gone.
Wayne Wilkie ... Hell I remember the plant over there on what's Fairway Road, we didn't bike over too far for us, we lived on Mary Street near the KW Hospital. Small world ain't it!
I had a 59 FWD and I moved houses with it good truck!!!!!!
perfect woods working machine
I like the "ROPS" supports on the AC dozer! Nice and flexible...
God I love Detroit diesel two strokes.. can't stand gas two strokes but diesels sound so cool. I'd love to get an 8V71 and throw it in a custom old Ford extended cab pickup and drive it around all the time. I figure they shouldn't be too bad on fuel in something really light, plus insurance would be easier to get and cheaper.
you had real fun today
That is a beautiful truck, love it.
Yes one of the best you can absolutely count on it
In their time they where a force to be dealt with the FWD. There were damned few airports in the north that didn't have an FWD in the shed, usually, cab overs with another Detroit diesel mounted on the front with a snow blower attached. Drove three of them at different times, all for snow removal. Geared for power, not speed for damned sure.

I saw a rear axle so is it a FWD or an all wheel?
@@scottgregory9672 Mike was confused regarding what he wrote. FWD is the brand of the truck and it's a 6x6. Back when that truck was built, the abbreviation for front-wheel drive hadn't become part of our vocabulary yet.
Never Drove a Dozer...but it looks like alot of fun.....
Big engine bay is sick!
Cool to see and the ride on the Allis was goid to
Nice Detroit Sound 🙂
Hell it's only 63 years old it should run, it's only the EPA that shut them down. The best engine built since WW2, Detroit engines have more heart than anything built since
And it didn't even smoke a bit ! How is that possible? What a truck !
Very nice , and a thumbs up liked.
Sounds amazing
that detroit sounds so sweet
Yes, For reliability they are hard to beat. Fuel economy..... not so much
Hope the two machines get restored some day.
This looks like some kind of tractor show , and it looks like california, I want to come !
If you ever drove a million miles you've dreamt of some cool old truck to drive for leisure. This could be one of them. The sound system requires no cb/stereo
Sweet Runnin Ol Grrrl!
This truck is a six wheel drive not a four wheel drive if it is driving the front wheels as well as both rear axles mate, nice to see its going to be saved so many great old vehicles just get burned or chopped up thanks for sharing don't be shy to talk and let us know what is going to happen to these things your effort is much appreciated.
Read the first comments.FWD was the name of the manufacturer, mate.
Back in the good old days when they made things out of cast iron...
I got my used 8v92 silver on klotz techniplate synthetic 2 stroke racing oil, 7 gallons of it. i want her to last and wont use anything else except silkolene pro 2 sx in her. expensive but its the best i have used so far. Shell rotella SAE40 dont compare.
Nice Detroit diesel 👍
Nice truck
Those two rear driveshafts are how tandem axle trucks got the nickname twin screws back in the days before differential mounted power dividers.
Is that Allis Chamers a 6-71 also? Kind of hard to tell with those twin air cleaners but it looks a little long for a 4 cylinder.
sounds good as new
Engine rebuilt 2 years ago
That thing sounds like it could pull-start a planet.
I would restore the old truck. It's pretty now it would be beautiful fixed up.
Sucata boa assim no Brasil não fica parado. Vide muriçocas!
Dat's a lotta Jimmy!
great truck ...
Beautiful!!
She's cool for sure
This old truck looks and sounds like my old lady when I wake her up in the morning. " Allot of noise and slow moving."
Oh that's so bad , love it
Que bueno ese camión a pesar de los años de estar abandonado sigue bueno.
I remember some great vids of that FWD pulling a trailer with a Dozer on board. What happened to them?
Now that was a truck. Bet that thing could move some heavy loads in bad conditions.
Beautiful
Allis Chalmers dozer 👍 👍
FWD Truck Corp of Clintonville, WI. I believe it was bought by Oshkosh Truck.
I just made my first video about the first start of a Nissan Figaro and it sounds so much different to this :)
Love the old equipment.
Good Condition
Very Cool!!!
But of course it does-its a FWD rig- i have a book with some of the first types attacking hills with FWD power- the designers wearing a suit wingtips and a homburg!
Bad ass 1918 shit- this made me pull the book out- im looking at one of the FWD truck prototypes from 1917-1918, its going upon a 45degree angle slope -MAN!that FWD ENGINEERs holding on!
one hand on wheel
other on to his derby hat- cigar in mouth bad ass style-holding on for dear life -lol
Top speed about 45?
Miles per gallon or gallons per mile? Ha ha, nice truck.
I bet that thing would climb a mountain.
Detroit Diesel = best diesels ever made
Indeed
I'd love to own such an odd ball truck. It'd be nice to see it with a quad front wheel drive assembly to make it an 8X8 and updated with a newer transmission, intake, and exhaust. Would rust convert and clear coat the paint.
Damn cool!!!
Shut IT resturation that Will make mi happy ☺
I just got fooled haha, i thought the truck was actually FWD
Ese tractor es calidad .
Is this the same FWD that was circulating on youtube a few years ago?
Old IRON hell yeah
check out that rubber block suspension that baby will loosen some fillings
very cool
Love it
Wasn't the Four-Wheel Drive Company the first to largely commercialise this type of vehicle?
awesome
Can't imagine how rough that truck rode on the highway with rear suspension like that. Cool old truck though!
Rear Suspension....whats that ??? LOL Thought that was an Optional Extra, back in the Day. Don't want to be spending good money on Suspension, just for the Drivers benefit. We had to run Soft Tyres, and a BIG cushion to sit on, for Suspension. Drivers today, they don't know how lucky they are.....PMSL !!
trplpwr that's because they were for work not driving around all day sitting on your ass.
Russians never fail to amaze me. I believe they can build anything even from garbage and it will kick ass.
Very cool rig. I want it! lol
Wellll it ran when we parked it !
Classic.
One thing you could pound on the throttle on them 671 it was hard to kill them
Sou fã de máquinas antiga
É dois!! Bate em qwalqwer caminhão novo!!
A/C looked like a 6-110.
Bet the spiders not happy.
Looks like an old Autocar. I think it is!! Love that 671 detroit!
It Is NOT an Autocar. It is a FWD. That's the name of the company.
FWD and AutoCar are Not the same company
Why let it sit?
Would you sell?
It is a Detroit . Made this video yesterday to show details including the engine ; czcams.com/video/SubCFh834WE/video.html
