After you put on the plastic snorkel tube, you must also extend the three valves they control pressure inside the front and rear axle transfer cases and inside the transmission. You must bring the breathing tubes for these three devices up or above water level before your job is done.
Water will get into the standard Jeep, or most other brands, but have the 3 gearbox breathing tubes, this extender job absolutely must be done to avoid the water contamination of these gearboxes which cause expensive repairs. This work on the tubes is not standard with Jeep and if you have snorkel installed, ask installer about doing the extending tubes also.
Guys...thank you for the vid...and all respect to Rugged Ridge for a great product. There is one thing I did differently on my install...I did not install the valve and tubing as I had a hard time finding a use for it. Instead I drilled two little holes s nit lower than in the vid. Also, left the four original holes unplugged. Works like a charm. When the engine sucks the air, the air takes the path of least resistance...which is the snorkle. What is sucked through the small holes is insignificant. However if water goes in the box, it drains right away. I thought I these details with you all and hope you find them useful.

This doesn't seem too difficult to install. Fairly easy. Can't wait to install one on my ecoDiesel.
Leave the valve open when normally driving, it’s to remove moisture from the air box so your air filter doesn’t degrade, and when you come across deep water that’s when you close it, leave it open normally

When driving in rain with the snorkel installed, how does the water drain so that it doesn’t reach the air filter?
This is a good question, why has it not been answered?
@@AFREaKaManyou can have the drain valve open if you know you would not be crossing any rivers. That way any water that may get in it will leak out. Also if you know you won’t be going in deep waters leave open one of the 4 hole that you need to plug on the bottom of the air box.
Changing a Jeep like that will that bring the value down?

i inatalled the cheaper one, works well but the seals suck so lots of black silicone rubber needed!
I just installed $111 one and it’s solid as fook. That $750 is definitely a big rip off
