I saw and listened to the BraneX at CES 2024 and it has really great bass!
Great bass, sure. Groundbreaking design as well, perhaps. But even from the in room mic audio vids of this Brane X it's clear they need serious tuning for the mids and highs.
Ya want only the thump? Sure. But I listen to music that hits much more of the sound spectrum.
I'll wait.
@@joesatchton212 I found the mids and highs to be good for a compact portable speaker. Vocals are clear and present.

B&O's Beolit series are amazing portable BT Speaker. Kinda Pricy but the Brane is not cheap aswell.

very very impressive sub bass for a speaker, let alone a portable one. but muddy mid bass is too much, highs roll off too soon as-well unfortunately, its begging to be eq'd
I can’t make it sound good, even with the 5 band EQ on the app. In reality, it hardly has any sub bass at all in comparison to the mid bass. And I agree, the treble is kinda terrible.
But how does it compare to the minirig 4 x2 with the sub 3?
@@zantesh we haven’t heard minirig yet to compare.
@ecoustics you should try two mini rigs with either one or two minirig subs. It's like a modular bluetooth speaker system. Even two minirigs alone is great but ofc adding a sub or two is even better. And still super portable.

@@chokechange Brane does have a down firing subwoofer. Unfortunately we did not test it hanging.
Devialet ! ….nah ..nah..nah man…they are in their own league…you cant compare them..they are so much full and have chest pumping bass way more than this !
I sent the devialet back because of its narrow soundstage. The bass is good, but decreased at higher volume. Actually sounds quite nice at lower & mid volume. Got the Branex when it released & it has completely different sound profile. Very wide soundstage due to mid driver opposing geometry & bass sounds better at higher volumes. Has adjustable bass for different genres of music. It's a game changer for portability inside a home. As always placement is key. But it does hit very low at higher volumes, where the devialet falls very short @Hellrazrx
BUT fucking 599$ come on, I can get whole studio with really good sub with that money

That's not sub-bass, it's simply bad sounding, boosted midbass!
Thanks for not jumping on this and telling it like it is. It should have been compared with the Bose S1Pro and the Everse 8. They are more in the same price range and are established pro speakers.
