One of the funkiest songs by the stones. You’d love “Monkey Man”

It took me a long time to `get`the Stones too. They're not too user friendly, imo. But when you get a sense of their whole body of work, you start to see how great they are. I'd recommend something like 'Mother's Little Helper' to start giving you a sense of their work.

I'd go deeper into their library. If you like this then check out 'Emotional Rescue' and if you like a more bluesy quality check out the entire 'Exile On Main Street' album, or just check out the songs 'Tumbling Dice' and/or 'Rocks Off' on that same album. They're prolific and hard to pigeon hole. Don't give up on them yet. They have a lot to offer.

If you want to go for their big hits, check out ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Street Fighting Man’, ‘Brown Sugar’, ‘Start Me Up’, ‘Sympathy for the Devil’, ‘Satisfaction’, ‘Paint it Black’, and ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’.

I'm not a huge Stones fan but I like a few of their songs, and this is one of them. I think this is 1978. Love the bassline.

My favorite song of this album. “Some Girls” is second. This was my first favorite rock n roll band.
“Some Girls is the 14th British and 16th American studio album by the Rolling Stones, released on 9 June 1978 on Rolling Stones Records”.

LOVE the Stones and this song❣🤩
Just Jammin definitely do yourself a favor and play more of their music. They have a long ole list of hits.
Miss you is from 1978. It has a disco beat, which is smart on their part bcz it fit right into the disco era, yet it was still rock.
Listen to "Sympathy for the Devil", it has cool percussion in it (conga drum and maraca/rumba shaker).

First time to your site, I'm glad you don't pause the song, unlike many others, If you really want to be Jammin', you need either some Grateful Dead or Bob Marley. I suspect your into Mr. Marley, so I'll suggest some Grateful Dead for you. Start with either Truckin', U.S. Blues, Deal or their version of disco, Shakedown Street. A large catalog to choose from. Much fun. Enjoy. The Stones are cool too, only saw them once, I saw the Dead about 50 times. Get Jammin'!

Stones were survivors. Disco took a bunch the 60s bands out. Killer tune.

'Miss You' is a great track but bear in mind The Stones were well past their peak by then. If you want to be convinced that they were great then I recommend the stuff from 1968-1972 which most consider to be their best period. I'm not a fan of the track 'Hot Stuff' that you listened to before and I am a huge Stones fan!

Jesus dude! If you can't do Stones, you can't do music! Without the Stones there wouldn't be so many artists today that do what they do. The Stones influenced everybody and they will tell you they did.

This is a great track but this version has been gutted and left on the remastering room floor. One of the most driving rhythm sections in music sounds like an afterthought played on a cheap keyboard.
I love the Stones but if I was introduced to them through these modern 'For Digital' mixes, it wouldn't blow my socks off either. to be honest.
The band are best listened to on a dancefloor in a dark, sweaty cellar club or live in as small a venue as possible.
The internet and most of the files available on Youturd don't do them and a lot of other vynyl period bands any justice at all at all.

  • @peedebarsinisterjr1453

I don't understand how you reactors listen to these initial songs first time, one time and determine whether it's good or bad in your opinion. Like having sex with some women. They may not be good the first time but once comfortable it's awesome. I enjoy listening to reactions but can't take them seriously. You haven't listened to the songs enough times to me.
