old egon makes me so sad, like he clearly has good intentions but he’s just one step behind because he has no knowledge of the time travel shenanigans. even though old ulrich freaked out i’m glad egon chose to tell him that mikkel exists in that time. also you’re right, young egon’s coworker is a kahnwald, he’s ines’ father.
Ines’ father! I’m glad I wasn’t crazy 😂 he makes me sad too man, the scene where he told Claudia about his cancer then was like “you’re probably too busy sorry to bother you” like cmonnn man that’s so sad
@@ItzWilson2 It's actually pretty smart clothing to wear. Priests in 2019 look pretty similar to priests in 1953. Their fashion doesn't change much. He can blend in with the same set of clothes across time, and he can always be "the new priest who just arrived."
Love how nuanced the characters are - you feel like your impression of a character is complete and then you get more insights still. Noah is a very interesting character. Same goes for Egon, and... basically everyone. All very well-rounded, with good and bad sides.
Couldn’t agree more like I said in the vid, because of this episode Egon definitely shot up to one of my favorite characters after being more towards the bottom. Every character is good
You’re right about not having all the information so it’s hard to theorise. This season will give you a lot of information. This show is seriously re watchable.
Some theory on Helge's mom and why she might be so distant and cold (Not a spoiler for the story). She once mentioned that she isn't sure if Helge is her husband's son and that he wasn't conceived out of love. She even mentioned she wished he'd be 'taken away'. So who could be the father ? Keep in mind the year - 1953. Helge's birth year is given as 1944, which would make him nine. However, he is smaller than the other kids which might imply that he is actually younger. So he may be born in 1945. Now - what happened in 1945s Germany ? If Greta Doppler lived in the eastern part of Germany at the end of WWII it might be that a soldier of the advancing Red Army is Helge's father. If that's the case Greta might still be traumatized and be distant to her son. The Dopplers pass off Helge as older to cover up this possibility.
After rewatching the series, I can state that a lot of things are obvious in hindsight, including the huge reveals in season two and three's finales. In fact... These were foreshadowed way back in season one.
27:34 Oh the "detective" (as a random German knowledge bit: since he is wearing no uniform we could assume he is part of the Kriminalpoliez while Egon is part of the Schutzpolizei) is credited as Daniel Kahnwald since Crossroads. Remember that Ines and Jana were only seen by Ulrich at Tannhaus' shop as Ines was picking up her father's watch. She then went on to talk about the boys that were found on the construction site. The implication here seems to be that Ines knew about these things as her father Daniel was called to the site.
IKR? Knowing what's ahead, it's killing me to watch them twist and turn, one of the best reactors of the show. The slow burn and complexity is so satisfying.
One of the (many) cool, subtle moments of this show is when young Claudia says the same words to Egon *after* old Claudia does so at the police station. It brings to mind the bootstrap paradox, because old Claudia literally said them to him earlier in 1953 than young Claudia, so Egon hears them for the first time from her future self in the past.
Bootstrap Paradox is a brilliant theoretical concept and is also a philosophical one as well, keep this in mind boys, it will blow your minds once it unfolds. No spoilers 😁
I don't know if it's obvious or if you have talked about it but helges mother was probably raped during the war. So she can't love this child that she mentiones is not made out of love. Like a lot of women in Europe at this time. All the war trauma still plays a role in a familys to this day here and even tho it's never mentioned specifically it's very obvious in this series how different generations have different coping mechanisms
Ohh I remember that line sticking out to me when I watched but but definitely didn’t take it that way, certainly a different perspective of her now, thanks!
Kahnwald is Ines' last name. You can see her nametag in 1x04 (or 1x03?). ETA: I've checked and it doesn't seem to be a popular last name. About 65 people in Germany have it. Not exactly a Müller or a Schmidt.
I’m not sure if this is what you guys were trying to say “what if Noah is Bartos” but I don’t think so. Coz Claudia’s daughter is Bartos’ mother, right? Claudia would be Bartos grandmother and if Bartos is Noah he killed his own grandmother but he would’ve known Who she is coz didn’t she intro herself to Bartos?

lets go guys. I wait the whole week
🎉
Same. These reactions are well worth the wait though.
Thanks for watching every week it means a lot to us!
I laughed out loud when you said “I wish I could put on a hat that cool”
😂 more fascinated by that then his time travel tbh

I use Egon being pummeled by falling birds as a metaphor for his life. The universe opens up and basically craps on him.
Rewatch is sooo worth it.
Rewatch is a must and id even watch your reactions to it!

Can’t wait to learn more info, I don’t rewatch shows but I might have to make an exception with this one
Claudia the 🐐

Another viewer pointed this out, honestly didn’t even consider it but makes complete sense and would definitely explain her behavior

I knew I wasn’t crazy ab that name haha cool thank you!
Man im so excited for your reactions, you have no idea whats coming
Thanks so much man happy you’re enjoying the chaos!

Great stuff…. The ending of the next episode (woah)! 💯
Thanks man! Can’t wait to see it

Just subbed and all caught up. Enjoying your reactions and discussions. I need my Dark fix.
Did you guys notice the psych ward nurse's nametag?
Nahh we didn’t notice it I don’t think, I’m gonna have to go back and check.
Nah damn I gotta look at everything! 😂 thanks so much for subbing and watching all the vids that’s unreal!

Yea right, she gives to to Mikkel who gives it to Jonas, need me a family tree! 😂

This show is so confusing lol. But sooo good
@@menonra30 they had went back to the first episode of this season and they think the guy who Noah killed with the pick axe was bartosz.
We've seen both teen Noah and teen Bartosz, and they're not the same person.
Yea my b I was gonna put a picture and forgot lmao but yea that guy 😂
We weren’t saying that haha so confusing but good you’re right 😂 appreciate you trying to clarify for us!
am i the only one attracted to helges mom 😂😂😂
There could be something there 😂
