I've been leasing a 2021 series 3 for almost 3 years now and I've had zero issues with it. Everything looks very good and I enjoy driving it. The trunk space is really good (i can fit my 5yo kid's bike easily) and room for other smaller bags. I think it's a great option for families of up to 4. I wish it had a bit more leg room in the back seats though. I may lease a new 2023 this year.

Yeah, this is very insightful. I just purchased a 2024 which was delivered about a month ago now. I did take a trip from Columbus Ohio down to Cincinnati. During the three day stay in Cincinnati I was able to drive around and electric because the hotel had free charging so when I got back home and filled up with gas I had only used about a quarter of a tank which cost me about $25 of premium gas fill.
Now, I am curious about the car turning off. Mine doesn’t do that. My slight annoyance is that it doesn’t turn off until I lock the doors.

One thing you mentioned was that this car does not have the “Doggy Mode” where if you leave the car you can leave your dog in an Air Conditioned vehicle for as long as you have battery power -so in the TSLA we are talking about a long time - perhaps 12 hours or more. We don’t want to leave our Yorkie in the car, but there are a few times where we can’t take her into an establishment. Does the car allow still shut off everything if you get out of the car? We live in Florida so shutting down the AC is not good.

We have a 2011 328i x-drive. For the first 8 years or so, it was mostly just regular maintenance. But for the last 3 years or so, it has been an endless parade to the dealer for repairs. And of course, they are all expensive repairs. It's a shame, because it has low mileage, and when healthy, the car still drives like new, has little or no rattle and creaks, and is very roomy for what is, by today's standards, a very compact sedan. But it's time to say goodbye to it, and we're debating whether to get the new 330i or the 330e. The fact we put very low mileage on our cars, and that in Canada a comparably equipped 330e x-drive costs significantly more than a 330i x-drive would tip us in favour of the 330i. It would take us forever to recoup the extra cost of the 330e.

I could have told you they are almost all a huge pain in the ass. I’m in the industry, the CPO marketing has become a joke inside of the industry. Mechanics quit and tell me they can’t sleep at night because of management telling them just slap a sticker on, make sure the vehicle is reasonably safe, and if it has problems the customer can bring it back later and we will drag it out, brush them off. This is at dealers across the country as trends spread quickly these days. I told my family and friends, buy new or don’t trust the CPO stickers. Dealers just charge more and follow the minimum local laws and push the customer away or tell the customer we fixed it when in fact the repair was equivalent to a Bandaid. I have had every car in 30 years of adulthood and now I drive Mazdas as my main reliable cars. I do have a Porsche 911t S and some other niche vehicles that have problems and I anticipate it. The Mazdas don’t break.

To keep the car on, you can either buckle the seat belt or put it in Xtraboost mode. The car will stay on even when you open the driver's side door.
Also if you try to park close to the curb, and slowly move the car with the driver's side door open, make sure to have the seat belt on, otherwise the car will automatically put the transmission in P. Definitely not good for your tranny while the car is still moving.

Coming from someone who also owns Audi Q5 and previous gen 540i with idrive 7. 330e in xboost mode from signal to signal has serious torque, you got to drive one to feel what it really means when both electric and inline outputs combined power. Top it with one of the best NVH , you need to look at the rear view mirror to see how fast the car is accelerating. This is my daily for pick up and drop kiddo from school . 20 miles back and forth , hook for regular outlet charging and fully charged and ready to go for evening. 86 mpg average , I force this car to battery hold to drain the gasoline after a while so I can refuel it.

Always wanted to know if there’s a bad glare with the instrument panel. Are you able to read your speed or anything on the screen when the sun is beaming on it?

We haven't had any problems with that so far. The screens are angled just right!

Paying for run flats is unnecessary. Get a good set of Michelin tires and get a better ride for less money.

Runflats are a complete rip off. Next time take a look at some Yokohama Apex V601. Sporty affordable tire. Would have saved you a some money and they look better. Perelli tires suck and they are expensive, if you’re dropping that much money you should have gotten some PS4S.

So after one year, the trunk makes an annoying sound as it's closing, the brakes are a little jerky, and sometimes it will respond when you don't want it to when saying BWW or Lexus. These "problems" are why I finally took a chance and bought a MINI. BMW has improved not only their reliability but also that of MINI. To the point Consumer Reports named MINI the #3 most reliable car brand of 2024. They are expensive to get serviced once the warranty has expired, but BMW seems to have actually listened to their customers complaints and are building cars that spend far more time on the road and less being serviced in the garage.

This isn't a car core performance car but it still has a very dynamic feel compared to most new cars. Steering is somewhat numb but sport mode adds in a pleasant heft
