I'm old enough, and American enough, to remember watching and loving both series beginning with their pilots. Thank you for this slow-motion 60 miles per hour run down memory lane.
Lindsey Wagner was definitely my first ever crush. Jamie Somers was cute, tough, vulnerable and kind. What a woman. Even had a poster of her on the door of my bedroom. Ahh, memories! Really glad you covered this Stam.
In 1971 I happened to meet Lindsay Wagner. She was sitting in back of me on the Shaker Rapid-Transit reading a movie script. It was for the movie Two People that she would be in with Peter Fonda. We chatted a bit and I said,"If your name's ever up in lights,I'll remember you."She chuckled and thanked me. Four years later she made it as the Bionic Woman(for which she won a well deserved Emmy in 1977).
@@craignotgreg547 Max...short for Maxamillian (it cost a million to repair him) I got to see the first "Max" on a Universal Studios tour back when BW moved from ABC to NBC. He was lying on the floor with bandages around his paws and Lindsay was walking around between takes I guess. But those scenes were never used in the premiere episode because Max never had bandages around his paws in the actual show. I also got to chat with Lindsay for about 2 minutes (I was 10 so I think she obliged me being a kid). I got her autograph on a BW jigsaw puzzle I bought
As a kid in the 80's, I adored this show. I pretended to be bionic all the damn time. my faves are DOOMSDAY IS TOMORROW, KILL OSCAR, The one with Jaimie in the mental ward, and FEMBOTS IN VEGAS!
I will always remember Carol Burnett calling her name. She won for either Deadly Ringer or Mirror Image...one of those two with Lindsay doing double duty as Lisa Galloway
She came in to where I work during the pandemic. She had sunglasses and a mask so when she told me her name I thought it was just a coincidence. I have the same name as someone famous so I told her that I understand her pain and she told me but I'm actually her. Then I may have fanboyed a little.
Listen, and understand! Jaime Sommers is out there! She can't be bargained with. She can't be reasoned with. She doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And she absolutely will not stop... well unless it gets a bit chilly then she will slow down a bit, maybe, but don't rely on that happening.
A walk down memory lane with my favorite TV show!! Not only was Lindsey Wagner beautiful but kick ass in the show. I loved watching this show & even had a metal lunch box of Bionic Woman.. Wish I would have kept it!!
I watched both shows ,but I ended up preferring and watching Longer The Bionic Woman. I remember the "headache" episodes . Lindsay's acting was very convincing. I remember feeling Devastated for her. 😱😭🤭☺
I loved this show. One of my earliest memories of childhood is being in the hospital for eye surgery and the nurse coming in right in the middle of The Bionic Woman and telling me to go to sleep before turning the TV off. Then after I did fall asleep she and a doctor came in and woke me up to take a look at my eye and draw some blood. I was so pissed I asked if they were gonna wake me up again later anyway why I couldn’t have stayed up and finished watching Bionic Woman. I was maybe 5 or 6 when this happened.
Recall the Fembot Saga. My mom and dad watched it with me. The cliffhanger where Jamie jumped out a window not sure her bionics could make the jump to the ground. I remember my mom gasping when Jamie's bionic legs exploded upon impact. I fanboy big time when the title card said to continue on the Six Million Dollar Man. I knew Steve was going to smash the Fembots for hurting Jamie. What? I was 8 years old at the time. 😂
In the mid 1990s, Lindsay Wagner was the spokesperson in BC Ford dealer tv ads. They were so well received that the campaign ran a lot longer than anybody had expected. I just loved to hear her say "Revelstoke!"
I wanted a Six Million Dollar Man toy so badly. I never got one, and hated all the kids at primary school who did have one. Oh well. I didn't even know there was a Bionic Woman toy. I would have been happy enough with that too.
The end of your video just reminded me of the fateful day when my sister decided to give her Bionic Woman action figure a haircut. The absolute state of Jaime Sommers afterwards.
Oh wow, my best friend got the Bionic Woman Beauty Salon, and it was the same set as my Six Million Dollar Man Control Center. That was a weird Christmas.
Thank you for posting this. I very much enjoyed The Bionic Woman, and Lindsay Wagner. The Fembots, and the Lisa Gallaway stories, including Max The Bionic Dog were favourites. Steve and Jaimie making it in the end and marrying was priceless. I had always rooted for them.
It was actually surprising for me to learn that the Bionic Woman was slightly cheaper than six million dollars. In Germany, the show was titled “The Seven Million Dollar Woman.” Inflation?
Ooh, your revisits are always worth a watch. Already there’s a lot of extra background detail 5 minutes in! (Unless I’m mixing this up with the section about it in the Six Million Dollar Man video! I know you kept up both versions of those reviews, but I also know you do normally remove the original one in other cases…)
This franchise (Bionic Woman/6 Million Dollar Man) was such a big part of my childhood; whatever merch was out there (very limited by modern standards but impressive to us) me and my pals tried to get our hands on, even the few comic issues. It led to one of the big debates of my generation: who's stronger Wonder Woman or Bionic Woman. The Bionic Woman jolds a special place with a handful of nearly forgotten superheroes of the 70s along with Web Woman, Isis, Super Stretch & Microwoman, Man from Atlantis, Electra Woman and more. I know it will never happen, since we fans are old and the actors are even older, if alive still, but man would it be cool to see (even in animation with hopefully the actors voicing) all of these do some big team up movie.
As a young boy, I loved this show. We only got NBC, so I didn’t really watch the Six Million Dollar Man, except at my friend’s house. So Bionic Woman was our show in that last season.
"Super Jaimie" (The Bionic Woman) a été une magnifique série des années 70. Lindsay Wagner y incarne à merveille cette femme bionique, tant par son talent que par sa beauté, elle est vraiment exceptionnelle 😍😍💕💕💕💕👍👍
The Lisa Galloway story was deep, especially when she got used to Jamie’s lifestyle…and liked it better than the criminal lifestyle she was accustomed to. Of course, Jamie in prison was upsetting. Especially when, IIRC, we find out that one e of the prison employees is working with the bad guys.
It's probably too much to ask for a video on the 3 reunion movies, but I would love to see one. I wouldn't mind a video on the Michelle Ryan Bioic Woman series either. I remembered it being really dark and good until network interference tried to turn it into the old school bionic woman show.
Lindsay Wagner said in an interview that Fred Silverman cancelled the show on ABC then when the show was moved to NBC the network hired Fred Silverman and he cancelled the show a second time due to his persistence that he only wanted shows that he had a hand in on airing. Ratings were good on both ABC and NBC but it was network boss Fred Silverman that cancelled the show.
i loved her all the putting up with men's bs as well as same stories as steve faces sometimes bionic cleaning seemed a bit hard last episode is dark as propo cyberpunk
I have vague memories of watching the old shows as a kid, but thought it was a shame the 2007 show with Michelle Ryan and Katee Sackhoff didn't last, I thought it had a somehat similar feel to Dark Angel the Jessica Alba vehicle.
It did. But. They were so focused on the action / cool effects. The humanity was missing. Lindsay was special. A great actress who was also natural, & imbued her with vulnerabilities, morality, & a clear point of view. Which led to the character questioning certain things / actions, ways of thinking. Making interesting complex choices. That made you care / kept you invested. The remake was empty by comparison. Writer's strike not withstanding.
Even as a high school kid, I wondered how many crippling spinal injuries and organ ruptures Steve and Jaime would have suffered every time they jumped out of a helicopter, picked up a car, or handled yet another ridiculously heavy object. You can read all about it in my upcoming monograph "Limbs of Titanium, Core of Jello."
I grew up watching the reruns in the 80's. I was too young in the 70's to appreciate them. Absolutely loved The Bionic Woman but never could really get into The Six Million Dollar Man. There was something about Jamie Sommers that was just so charming and lovable while Steve left me a little cold. I did love the crossover episodes though. They were great together and really complimented each other. Favorite episodes are Kill Oscar, Fembots in Las Vegas and Doomsday is Tomorrow Pt 1 and 2. It's such a shame that they ended the series too early. They could've had another two good seasons out of it.
Does anyone remember the toy bionic Steve Austin figure with the red uniform and the see through eye lens and the winder st the back that used to raise his arm ? Great time for me as a kid in the 70s watching all these programmes on tv and I wish I could of eventually fulfilled my ambition to live in the states and buy a house near the beach and live like a movie star - it was the American dream for me lol ❤
Agreed with your choice for series best episode. Saw that as a kid and it stayed with me. One bit that I didn't even "get" until watching as an adult, was Oscar's line "... get the flock out of here"
I'm old enough, and American enough, to remember watching and loving both series beginning with their pilots. Thank you for this slow-motion 60 miles per hour run down memory lane.
Now available on blu-ray and look great!
I'm from the UK we had it, even had the 6 million doller toy
I was born in 1964, and 1970s television shows were, like, the bomb, man! Seriously, it's an era that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
I was born in 1965 and l know what you mean.
Lindsey Wagner was definitely my first ever crush. Jamie Somers was cute, tough, vulnerable and kind. What a woman. Even had a poster of her on the door of my bedroom. Ahh, memories! Really glad you covered this Stam.
I felt the same way and had the same poster.
In the 80s, we watched the reruns daily. So nostalgic.
Lindsay Wagner was great as Jaime, very personable and charming.
That’s a heck of a story.
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
She definitely deserved the Emmy. I forgot about the bionic dog. Quite cheesy, What was the dogs name? Does anybody know?
I googled it. It was Maximillian---Max. Amazing what you can find out on Google.

Possibly my first crush... But it never would have worked out. I was 5.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nothing illustrates true 1970s terror more than someone singing "Feelings!"
Quite true.
I loved that episode.
OMG the way she ended that song going all over the place. I still laugh at that...she did great up to that point
I remember in school we were all doing the slow effect all the time 😂. And yes we all had major crushes on her.
So true!
I don’t blame you.
I preferred to be a dalek myself .
As a kid in the 80's, I adored this show. I pretended to be bionic all the damn time. my faves are DOOMSDAY IS TOMORROW, KILL OSCAR, The one with Jaimie in the mental ward, and FEMBOTS IN VEGAS!
All great episodes.
U gotta love her meeting Bigfoots after he took out Steve. "I'm gonna hoof it😂
Those were definitely the most iconic shows in the series...
I'm glad DC comics did a crossover series with the bionic woman and Wonder woman 77 together. It's too bad they never could have come together on TV.
I was this old when I found out 😅
Back then, a person jumping in slow motion was meant to be really, really, really fast. Appreciated, mate.
😂👍
Don't forget that bionic sound effect added to that slow mo.
These make me feel really old…I remember watching this first run. What great schlock!!
It's amazing how folks forget Wagner won an Emmy for this.
You are so right-l wasn’t even aware Wagner had won an Emmy.
I knew😊
No one even remembers who won at the Emmy's this year.
I will never forget her winnings at the Emmys. She also won many awards on many different things that she has done outside of the bionic woman.
I will always remember Carol Burnett calling her name. She won for either Deadly Ringer or Mirror Image...one of those two with Lindsay doing double duty as Lisa Galloway

Thank you for a wonderful trip down memory lane! 🤔😁❤️
One of the best tv theme songs ever!!
At this very second typing this I'm still in LOVE with Jaime Sommers. Sorry Steve 🤷🏽♂️
A walk down memory lane with my favorite TV show!! Not only was Lindsey Wagner beautiful but kick ass in the show. I loved watching this show & even had a metal lunch box of Bionic Woman.. Wish I would have kept it!!

you cannot beat the original and the best
I love when you cover 1970's Sci-fi!
thanks
The mountain bike tangent and the business card...OMG...this made me laugh non-stop for 10 minuets!
I loved this show. One of my earliest memories of childhood is being in the hospital for eye surgery and the nurse coming in right in the middle of The Bionic Woman and telling me to go to sleep before turning the TV off. I remember my sister cried when Jamie Summers died.
Lucky she was just cryogenically frozen
18:47 Bionic book shelving, this show had it all!
Loved Lindsay in the bionic woman still watch it today appreciate you putting this video on
I met Lindsay Wagner earlier this year, on her birthday no less.
That must have been amazing.
Happy birthday to you 😅
I knew she was down in Australia during her birthday. I met her back in 1979. Hope your meeting was as awesome as mine was
Loved the series and that iconic sound, saw it in the 80's, I was 12-13 and had a crush on miss Wagner.
What a time to be alive!! Even big foot had a perm!!😂
It's the " robot lady ".
I went through 2 or 3 bionic woman dolls before I was 10 yrs old 😅 my favourite childhood show.
Nitpick: She does not defeat the super computer. Best episode of the series
Recall the Fembot Saga. My mom and dad watched it with me. The cliffhanger where Jamie jumped out a window not sure her bionics could make the jump to the ground. Ah yes, the "One Tin Soldier" episode.
@@JonathanEzor Wont be too long before there's no one around like you or I to get that reference.
Lindsay Wagner was so pretty. My first crush at the tender age of 11.
My childhood heroine! "La Mujer Biónica"
Ooh! “Forever Knight” deserves the Stam Fine treatment!
Oh 1970s television, where everything is more brown and denim than all the cattle ranches in Texas lol
Very true.
I loved that show.
In the mid 1990s, Lindsay Wagner was the spokesperson in BC Ford dealer tv ads. They were so well received that the campaign ran a lot longer than anybody had expected. I just loved to hear her say "Revelstoke!"
Thanks for not trashing Jennifer Darling this time.👏
I always kind of enjoyed this more than the parent show...
I wanted a Six Million Dollar Man toy so badly. I never got one, and hated all the kids at primary school who did have one. Oh well. I didn't even know there was a Bionic Woman toy. I would have been happy enough with that too.
thanks! loved her character as a kid in 1970's! she really is beautiful and sweet!
The blu-ray releases of Bionic Woman and SMDM do look great. A couple minor audio issues exist, but nothing terrible. ❤
I loved the Bionic Woman way more than the Six Million Dollar Man.
She was pretty to look at👀
Excellent review.
I look forward to your videos every week. I don't always comment but I'm always watching 👍
I met the Bionic Dog (and his trainer) when I was a kid... could not get an autograph though. (What a jerk😁)

Great memories, I could totally rewatch both of the bionic shows. Thanks for the great reviews!
The business card was a nice touch… cheers!
They re-ran these on the sci-fi channel when I was a kid. Maximillion the Million Dollar Dog. Good shit.
It was actually surprising for me to learn that the Bionic Woman was slightly cheaper than six million dollars. In Germany, the show was titled “The Seven Million Dollar Woman.” Inflation?
Gonna have to watch The Bionic Woman now.
Obsessed ❤ between wonder woman and the angels, Jamie was my favorite
Fun fact: when the show aired in Japan, Wagner was dubbed by Reiko Tajima, the female lead from Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1974)
Interesting, you know of any other Godzilla cast members who did dubbing for foreign shows?
Ojai, Mark.

An informarive and fun series recap!
You didn't mention Sandra Bullock as the Bionic Girl in "Bionic Showdown"!
As a young boy, I loved this show. We only got NBC, so I didn’t really watch the Six Million Dollar Man, except at my friend’s house. So Bionic Woman was our show in that last season.
Love this show
Sandra Bullock got her start in the “Bionic Showdown”
Kojima like Bionic Woman so much he cast Lindsay Wagner or at least her likeness in his game Death Stranding. 😆
Wow! I didn't realize that Vincent Price was born around the same time as my grandparents
She was way more naturalistic than was the norm back then.
Well done, well researched and edited. The clever jokes and references were appreciated as well. The Fembot-Stellantis comment made laugh out loud 👍
"Super Jaimie" (The Bionic Woman) a été une magnifique série des années 70. Lindsay Wagner y incarne à merveille cette femme bionique, tant par son talent que par sa beauté, elle est vraiment exceptionnelle 😍😍💕💕💕💕👍👍

Another fine review, cheers!
And here I was thinking Jennifer Lawrence was the first female action lead. 😉
I knew half this stuff from Venture bros, but I thought it was parody. Didn’t realize so many of these elements are from the actually show.
I was getting into adulthood while these were wrapping. I know I didn't watch the end of Bionic Woman
It's probably too much to ask for a video on the 3 reunion movies, but I would love to see one. I wouldn't mind a video on the Michelle Ryan Bioic Woman series either. I remembered it being really dark and good until network interference tried to turn it into the old school bionic woman show.
those movies will be covered eventually.
As a n eighbor I got to know Lindsay (and her sons) over time ... She is still very busy with acting roles.
"I can't feel my legs!"
"They're bionic, too."
"Oh my God..."
"Yeah, welcome to the club, pal!"
The Fembots episodes were the ones that set it off 😊
In that era, her parts being smaller would have caused them to be much more expensive. She must have cost WAY more than the six million dollar man.
Lindsay Wagner said in an interview that Fred Silverman cancelled the show on ABC then when the show was moved to NBC the network hired Fred Silverman and he cancelled the show a second time due to his persistence that he only wanted shows that he had a hand in on airing. The Bionic Man sings , great first Album 🎶
Well done! Keep it up! In the review you made a joke about how long you spend making your reviews. How long do they really take to make?
much longer, to be honest.
Lindsay Wagner was such a babe.
Fully endorsed.👌

Did anybody else find the Six Million Dollar man action figure kind of off-putting because of the eye gimmick?
Totally. Plus, you couldn't see shit through it !!
Back to the 1970s again! Thanks! I love the 1970s! This series had some good episodes but sister series Six Million Dollar Man was/is better.
