I feel like Ny lost the game to the south because Ny is so proud they didn’t out source. Ct, Ma, Vt, Philly, Jersey. Atlanta didn’t do it alone, rappers was makin hits doin these we takin over records from every southern state. However, niggas like Fab have stayed consistent and stayed sharp, I appreciate that.

I agree with your statement for the most part with NY rappers gatekeeping and not putting younger artists in their community on or working together to keep New York rap hot. When other areas like the midwest, the south and the west cost rose in prominence in Hip Hop, New York fell off. But I also think it's a generational lack of respect from both younger artists and older artists in Hip Hop as a whole. For example, a little while back before this rico situation right now Young Thug had an interview with T.I. where Tip was saying he sees some similarities with Young Thug's and Andre 3000's styles. Instead of acknowledging 3 Stack's contributions to Atlanta's Hip Hop scene globally and his obvious influence on him, Young Thug straight disrespected the OG saying he never heard of him in Atlanta or something like that. We had the Migos and Bone Thugs beef a few years ago about the best rap group of all time. Also on the Eastcost we got the current situation of Mase signing/putting on and giving game to the street minded but not business minded new artist Fivio Foreign and the disrespect Mase got from him in interviews. Then you have the older rappers that belittle newer rap trends and styles saying it's mumble rap and stuff like that. 🤷🏾♂️
