I was diagnosed with Familial ataxia disorder by Dr Robert Balouh and Dr Jenn in the 1990s. Fast forward 30 years and still no help. Was taking diamox for over 20 years but now it doesn’t help. Nothing helps however I noticed consumption of carbohydrates increase my symptoms. Doing a keto diet which helps.

I have an urgent question. I have a patient who did not have ataxia one year ago; at that time he had a traumatic above knee amputation. He mastered his prosthetic. It's now a year later and he has acquired ataxia and can't handle using his prosthetic anymore. How can I find balance exercises to perform with an amputee? I want to do the heel on shin in hooklying; should I use the prosthetic? Can we do kneeling and quadruped on the prosthetic, will it help? Thank you

How does one get genetic testing when the insurance company will not approve payment because there is no cure or treatment??? How can one seek clinical trials when they cannot get a specific diagnosis????
