The 13-inch iPad Air is perfect (since the pro is $1300 now) for note taking. I wish there was a silver option instead of starlight
The starlight got even more bland this year so it’s pretty much silver😂😂

Starlight is such a nice creamy silver though. Space grey in certain light looks like a dark silver

The new colours continue the trend of washed out Airs, if you compare the gradients from Gen 4 to Gen 6, you can clearly see how with each gen the colours get more and more washed out.

I wouldn’t that iPad should still be good for a few more years and the air has worse screen and speakers then your pro the new iPad Pro would be a huge upgrade but not the air.

the iPad Air works on the Magic Keyboard, unless youre talking about the new magic keyboard.
The magic keyboards have precise fit, but the new iPad Pro is extremely thin so you wouldn’t be able to close the thing with the Air inside
Biggest question - I already have a Magic Keyboard and don’t want to buy a new one !

So lots of comments about the Air 13” model but no comments about the biggest thing everyone is wondering about, how does the screen look ?
As far as the front camera now being in the landscape position, that should have been done many years ago like Samsung did in their tablets.
I have many iPads, among them is my iPad Pro 13” TB version.
I’m sure interested on how my current IPad Pro screen is going to compare to the 13” Air, hopefully some reviewer on CZcams will talk about that most important subject instead of spending so much time talking about the iPads colors.
Thank you, great excitement and review as always. Owned Pro’s in the past, downgraded to 10th gen 256gb, which I honestly enjoy. However, I’m really so use to large screens on my other devices, I’m getting older, seriously thinking about 13”.
My other consideration is storage, I enjoy the “wiggle room” I have with 256gb, to only have 128gb or go with base pro with 256gb, but lose screen size?? Decisions decisions 😂

@joshuajosol650 I really enjoy it, especially 256gb. It is not my primary tablet, I have a Tab S9. Mostly learning Procreate and when my phone feels too small.

OLED is an eye destroyer and headache generator for this category of people and I am happy that Apple has still products with IPS screen. Although Apple doesn’t care at all about eye health (see iPhone) they still keep LCD due to production costs.
The air is the best option for most people, pro is overkill and the air will more then good enough and has a big option and the 10th gen has less longevity because of the slower chip, half the ram and less update support because its older.

I miss the days when Apple gave us SATURATED COLORS. Everything is pastel/muted, so boring. Hopefully it's more vibrant in person and it's just lighting?

iPad 10 is the most colorful aluminum iPad Apple ever had.
It makes sense: the 10 is mostly for children and more colorful makes it also more playful not mature so you get most colors there. On the mid tier air you still get colors but subtle making it look more premium while on the Pro there's basically no color at all.

The one thing I have yet to see anyone comment on is the OLED Displays in the Pros…what the heck? I mean I keep seeing the endless comments on how thin the display allows the iPad to be, but I mean I’m not seeing any comment in the *quality*. I was expecting Oooh’s and Ahhh’s at the vibrant beauty of OLED finally in the iPad. But The most I’ve seen or heard is a stock “inky blacks” comment. But nothing else! Do the new OLEDs not look that different from the Liquid Retina Displays that were in previous Pros and Airs (and still in the Airs)? Really curious about this!

When you compare iPad Air with iPad mini pricing for 70 euros extra you have a bigger and better screen and an M2 instead of the A15. I really wanted a mini but it's so difficult to justify. ;-(

No OLED? Fine. No ProMotion? Mmm less fine. No FaceID? Less fine. I have both of these features on my 2018 Pro - a 6 year old device! I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a simple screen size upgrade from 11” to 13” for the same price or less, with no downgrades. As in, the 2024 iPad Air 13” should be the same price or less as the 2018 11” Pro, IMHO. I think the Airs for the last couple of generations have become capable of serving the needs of the owners of the original Pros. The Pros have taken off into higher capabilities and I think much of what you used to need a Pro for, can be done on the Airs. It just seems weird to me that the 2018 Pro is still superior to the 2024 Air in certain ways.
