The video is going too fast for me is there written instructions for this because I can't tell how many you're counting in stitches especially in the beginning ?

Has anyone figured out the pattern? I have watched it multiple times and am always out 1 stitch. She says pick up so you have 13 stitches on hook. But you have 6 stitches one side & 7 stitches the other side & always 1 loop on your hook=14 stitches??? Please help as I really love the look of the pattern!
