UPDATE: 1st overwintered Black Swallowtail Butterfly release 2/24/24.

I started out with 7 larvae between the parsley plant & lime tree. I watched 4 go into cocoons (lost track of 2 and 1 didn't make it through transplanting the parsley). I had them in my garage until these recent 70 degree days here in NorthTexas. And when I went to get it to take it outside I saw that this one had emerged from the cocoon.

maybe it will visit me!
i had several monarchs and swallow tails and other far traveling butterflies last summer!
was awesome!
