DV on David Bailey: so spot on. Most intuitive/articulate mx/sx announcer of all time. The guy never missed a beat and always knew what was going on...what was about to happen. GOAT in the booth.

If they want the Sport to grow, change this: European fans have to pay 130$ to watch supercross, Peacock cost 120$ per year, and you get access to SX and MX, plus Indycar and much more sports. Or put the races for free on CZcams the following day, there are much better ways to bring people to the sport rather than have a Rutledge Wood on the broadcast. Sorry for my english.
Your exactly right, but to piggyback off of DV's point... Rutledge Wood is contradicting himself, he says he wants to grow the sport then he goes online and attacks fans. Right or wrong. It's the job he signed up for. Arguing with people doesn't help at all.

That is the part I found most interesting... First he blanket statements motocross fans and then slowly walks back from it. He obviously has a chip on his shoulder and would just do anything to be on TV.

Yes, Steve doesn't know which side he's on. He couldn't stick up for DV, the fans or help Rutledge understand the sport, speak on viewership, speak on Feld "knowing how to run a motorsport corporation"....I mean anything at all to at least educate this guy about a sport he doesn't truly know but acts like it. He thinks that because he's worked in more popular sports and had a TV show and a Netflix deal that he can come in and treat core people in the sport like toddlers. All of his replies, even to people on Twitter are condescending BS.

The main issue is the networks try to sell the races and the action which is what drives the core fans crazy. We don’t want the cheesy filler like the Rutledge segments and the like. SX fans don’t take well to being condescended to which is what Rutledge did in this interview and DV lit him up. Good for you DV!
Our sport has no room for softie goofballs like Rutledge. He is exactly what we all dislike in normal everyday life and I bet he’s going to receive a lot more flak due to this interview.
I thought DV handled the situation fantastic, I was glad to hear him have that conversation with Rutlidge. I'd never take the time to criticize the guy about doing a job he's getting paid to do but I disagree with Steve, he did come off butt-hurt IMO. I've always enjoyed listening to DV's take and thought he was spot on with what he was saying.

Rutledge has half of a point, but the man just doesn't get it. DV is pretty much spot on. I went 'round with Rutledge on these exact same topics earlier on Twitter (before I even listened to the segment) and he just doesn't get it. He wants to argue with you and tell you why you're wrong (the core fans) instead of getting where you're coming from. Sounds to me like he could give a shit less about what the core fans think, he just cares about what 12 yr old Lucy from BFE, Timbuktu could learn from him getting on the broadcast and explaining that tires are made out of rubber. He doesn't care, and for that reason it's really hard to like him because he's making it personal by attacking fans- and evidently legends like DV. He really just said DV basically didn't know what he was talking about. What a douchebag.

Love him or hate him DV is legit. The problem is Rutledge doesn’t even give DV respect, he keeps cutting DV off which never earns respect, but at least he apologized for doing it. But then he says “what if you’re wrong?” That comes across as arrogant and disrespectful.

I like Rutledge and what he had to say. Steve/Jt/Weege have hashed countless times about flaggers, where they get them, how they train them, pretty ironic to see the hate toward Rutledge on it. Today's standard though is to complain, throw hate, and spread negativity, so no surprise really.
JT$ is delusional when it comes to the track cutting. I think he is mad he got the weimer penalty or whatever it was back in the day lol! It doesn't matter "what would have happened" in some alternate universe.
I do agree on the set time for a penalty though.

Can't get enough of DV. When the off season hits, Matthes should turn the show over to DV, and have DV do a weekly thing with riders and industry people.
Matthes was surprisingly conservative going after Rutledge. Must be that small industry everyone has to kiss everyone else's butt thing...or maybe Matthes is trying to set himself up to move over to the car side of motor sports?
Rutledge's comment that any newb gets picked on by the SX/MX crowd is seriously flawed. We fans don't like Wood because he really doesn't fit, isn't interesting or funny, and looks like he never swung a leg over a motorcycle. Put James May in the same role, and fans would enjoy it.
