Hana Cahová: Another layer of information - 5’end RNA modifications

5’end RNA modification - canonical cap has been known in eukaryotic cells since the seventies. Its role is also well described. Recently, new types of RNA caps were discovered in all types of cells, but their roles remain enigmatic. In our laboratory, we are developing techniques for their detection, and we also focus on understanding their biological role in various systems, including bacteria or viral infections.
