    Hi Denise, lovely to see you again. I am glad you are feeling much better now. So pleased you have found a way forward after SW. I think every weight loss plan has good and not so good elements, it is finding what works best for you especially in the long term 🥰 I look forward to seeing your new journey videos, I am sure I will pick up some tips and good information xx

      Hi Kim, thank you very much! I also want to thank you for your very kind emails. I am feeling much better and back to my usual which is nice.
      Each plan has good and not so good elements and we all have to be aware of and realistic of that what suits one person will not suit another. I have lost such an amount of weight on SW and I am much healthier and happier, but this final phase is something I always saw coming and I am excited to see how it goes! I look forward to sharing info with you and a lot of what I will be eating is healthy. For example, all bran, a yakult drink and a protein shake for breakfast, a chicken pasta salad and babybel at lunch and tonight, we are having a grill-up for dinner! Xx

      @@ScottishFoodieLassie Totally agree Denise, so pleased you are feeling better in all ways. You food sounds wonderful (chicken apart 🤣🤣) sadly I struggle a bit with too much fibre after my op last year which ended up being more than I went in for and bowel surgeons had to be called in during the op as it needed operating on too. Looking forward to your new videos though, thank you to you both xx

    I am sticking with SW for now as I find it easy and do enjoy the group sessions as I get lots of ideas at group. I am still really interested to see your progress and how you get on. I’m glad to hear you are feeling better now! Have a good week xx

    Thank you darling for your wise words. TBH I joined SW but was always conflicted, my doctor is telling me to cut out the pasta , rice and potatoes which is the opposite from what group says. I left after watching your last video. Friends have tried to get me to do Keto but because it’s more important to me to get my inside healthy than the outside, I’ve decided to do my own thing and just eat healthier. You are an inspiration so keep up the good work. I’m going to try and find the chocolate milk ❤

      Hi Jacqueline, thank you for your kind words. I really do think we all need to do what’s right for us individually. Food isn’t a demon and shouldn’t be portrayed in this way. You have to find a balance and realise that food is just food, it is a fuel for us but it is also a social experience too and we do enjoy it. It’s not worth being miserable over and so I do hope you find a balance right for you! Thanks for supporting me x

      Thank you! I have been going between nutracheck and MyFitnessPal. Both do the same thing, but I have been using MyFitnessPal more heavily over the last week and I do find it easier to use right now. I’m enjoying food that I haven’t eaten in well over a year. I feel happy! Thanks for supporting me and best of luck on your calorie counting journey too! X

    Firstly, I am so happy to see you back ❤! Secondly, I am not going anywhere, lovey! I am so sorry to hear that you're still not feeling yourself! You really have been through the mill! Wow! My healing prayers continue for you to be fully well very soon 🙏 take good care, Denise xx 😘. I love SW, but it is just not a realistic plan for my lifestyle. I love my protein shakes. They keep me fuller for longer. I also enjoy my protein bars for the same reason. SW bars are junk food, and the bread they suggest for HXB is not even high in fiber. Like most weight loss plans that we pay for SW has its flaws. Bars/shakes are considered "go-to" foods when you have a lapband.These are both portable and very good for on the run type mini meals. I made protein pancakes yesterday, and I was full for hours! At the end of the day, CC is the only thing that I have ever been able to sustain for several years at a time. You are very aware of your macros, which makes all of the difference. Balanced macros will help you feel satiated and keep you healthy! I used My Fitness Pal for many years. I have been using Nutracheck for a few years now. It does have a few plans built into it which you can choose from. The default plan is called balanced. You can also create your own plan in the app based on the macros/calories you chose for yourself. Many on WW are also double tracking now bc they are realizing that calories & macros impact healthy weight loss. I look forward to watching your videos and will continue to support you, Denise! I would love for you to join us in the Slim Win fb group. We meet through " ipsie" once a week for about an hour and choose a new topic for presentation and follow-up discussion each week.       Hi Roe, thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, many are double tracking which takes away from the ordinary plan and it is extra effort. I am enjoying food now, and some items I haven’t eaten in well over a year. I don’t use Facebook much unfortunately, but I will have a look and consider if I can make it work!     Hi Denise good to see you and it sounds a very positive plan trying things out with minimal pressure until you get a balance that works for this phase for you, your focus and determination will get you to your goal when it is meant to happen.
    I am totally stunned and poleaxed this week after the Glasgow Trip which was awesome.
    We enjoyed fantastic Greek food from James's recommendation mum won brownie points for going oh I have a recommended place to go go 😂
    Thirty Seconds to Mars were awesome.
    I made best food choices I could and managed to eat without my daughter realising I am doing SW.
    I enjoyed the food, the trip and time with my daughter which is priceless.
    I weighed a plus 2lb on return and was perfectly happy with that.
    Then this week happened.
    I woke up feeling like I had flu and thought no surprise I am usually fairly isolated so being immune suppressed often come home with a bug.
    Then I moved oh heck the pain the joy of Shingles.
    I can now barely get a effective breath in and am on anti virals and steroid dose is massive in aim of keeping me out of hospital.
    Eating has been last thing I want to do but I have learnt that is a slippery road for me as can easily stop eating but still fail to lose weight so have managed 3 meals a day and kept fluids up.
    Yesterday I stood on scales and off and on and off then got husband to check this tortoise of only doing 1lb a week on average for 22 weeks lost 7lb on week 23 making a 2st 1lb loss since starting.... I am stunned but equally realistic as amount steroids will push my weight up next week I have no doubt and I blooming well am not continuing with Shingles just to have a big weight loss 😂😂😂.
    I at least thought this, week I am not alone feeling rubbish after a much needed and enjoyed holiday Denise was poleaxed as well hmmm what have holidays or breaks, awy got against us 🤦‍♀️
    I found you through your SW weight loss journey.... Oh I hate that phrase but can't think of another and for me that is still right path to take as for me easy to do and fit in with my life.
    I imagine a time in future I will also change track and that will be right at the time.
    I think respecting we are all individuals who have very different lives and needs but can come together with a collective goal of making good healthy food choices that enable us to live our lives without food being the big scary monster in the corner but accepting we need to eat to live so let's eat in a healthy balanced way that works for us.
    I will enjoy staying on if you are happy with my mad musings as, we all can learn from each other 🥰💜x

      Hi Dormouse, thank you so much for your kind comment! ❤️ I am enjoying what I am doing right now, and I am more nutritional focused on fibre intake, and looking at doing good for my body, not just focusing on the scales now. I am happy with a slow loss or some maintains as long as I know I am fuelling myself with great food. My perspective and aim is 80/20. 80% very nutritious foods and 20% treats or things I won’t eat every day.
      I am so glad that you had a great time in Glasgow and enjoyed your gig, and of course enjoyed your Greek food! Did you go to Halloumi? We loved our meal there, everything was so fresh.
      I am so sorry to hear that you’re not well at the moment, especially with shingles. What a rough ride that is for you. I hope your meds are managing things, to keep you at home. I hope that you recover as quickly as possible, your health and recovery is more important at this stage than the scales, and you are already doing so well. It is just a blip, and we can do nothing more than move on from those blips.
      I encourage you to keep going, and you are following a plan that fits and suits your life, that is what I have done on SW too but this final stage is where I am at now. I always knew this final stage would come regards the last section of losing the weight and increasing my health, and it felt natural to move towards my current approach.
      I welcome you to stay with me on my journey and I hope that you will still enjoy seeing what I get up to. Take care and sending best wishes xxx

      Halloumi was amazing and my daughter can't wait to take her husband there.....needless to say I throughly enjoyed it.
      Dad and daughter are off to Dublin this weekend to see Ramstien my son in law not into music at all so he is being left with cats and I am having a wonderful home alone weekend with the dog.
      Baking all done for son in law for a treat and yum I have Feta Cheese in house.
      I just wish Shingles would improve but hey I can't have everything I want lol x

    Hi Denise I've bounced between calorie counting and sw . I recently rejoined sw two weeks ago and already I'm feeling restricted with my eating and unable to join in social situations . Last week I went out and found myself holding everyone up while I scoured the menu for something sw friendly ( see even using the jargon) . I found this video really helpful . I need to be eating healthier and the fact that good fats are so high sinned on sw stops this . Nuts seeds olive oil ect ..im also worried about how sw promotes ultra processed foods ..fat free sugar laden yogurts ..fry light ( full of chemicals ) . Im already finding the restrictions difficult after just two weeks . Thank you so much for this and I hope you feel better soon , take care x

      Thank you so much for your kind words of support and encouragement.
      I’m sorry to hear that you are finding that you are restricted, that is a shame. I didn’t ever feel restricted on SW, but I think I played it safe and I ate a lot of the same thing day in day out for breakfast and work lunches and, looking back, I did miss out on quite a lot but I have done a lot of soul searching and self improvement regards my feelings and relationship with myself and food. I will be speaking more about my current plan which is to fill my body with more nutritional food and aim for the 80-20 approach which is 80% food is high in protein/carbs/fibre/mostly good fats and the other 20% is where I can eat whatever I like, e.g. ice cream, chocolate, crisps, etc.
      Please let me know if I can be of any more help specifically. I followed SW for a full 52 weeks and so I have seen all the highs and lows for myself too. Take care xx

    Glad you're feeling better. I've been on and off the slimming world wagon, partly due to awful consultatants and partly because the syn values irritate me.
    Im interested in trying the pro milk and steaming it for my lattes at work.

    Hi 👋 a change is as good as any.. I done ww on and off.. but by far I recommend staying under 50g carbs daily I don't even calorie count any more.. but with staying below the 50g carbs it's forcing me to make better food choices to keep me full up.. lots of protein it's the only way.. and you can have you treats still.. I've started using heylo if your bread mad like myself u must buy their bread.. onwards and upwards ❤

      Thanks for sharing! I do eat lots of protein and do enjoy the effects of feeling and being physically stronger since increasing my protein and calories. Carrying a shopping basket a few months ago would have been challenging as I have lost a lot of strength. Now, I can carry anything I need to and I do notice a big difference!       Hi Rose! Thank you so much for your support. I am now focusing on my nutrition and body shape, less than the scales. I do still want and need the scales to shift downwards to meet my goal, but I do have so much more freedom over what I eat now and I’m glad. SW did give me the tools to lose 5.5 stone, but the mental approach and outlook on myself and life and my relationship with food, has improved tenfold. I had to do a lot of self improvement and mindfulness to get to where I am. Sending hugs! Take care xx

      Hi Antonia! Thanks so much. I feel much better now and glad to be back. I haven’t been unhappy on SW, it has given me tools to lose so much weight and most importantly, change my outlook and perspective on myself and the world around me. You definitely are strong enough, but I do think a lot of personal mental growth has to happen at the same time as losing weight. Some people do it quicker than others! I am encouraging you towards your 4 stone award, fantastic work and I hope you will stick around to see how I get on, on this new stage of my journey! Xx

    I only joined SW last week, but I recognised the danger of the mindset of constantly checking syn values in everything I eat and feeling guilty if it did have any syns in. This past weekend proved I was already doing this as I checked everything in my shopping basket and the menu whilst eating out and I really don't want the mental stress of that. So I've already decided to quit SW after the 6 weeks I've signed up for
