  • Koramästaren Jali Nyama Suso från Gambia på Kristinehallen under Falun Folkmusik Festival 1988. Hans flyg var rejält försenat och han hade fått poliseskort från Arlanda till Falun för att hinna i tid till konserten. Om detta sjunger han i denna låt. Sten Sandahl introducerar honom för festivalpubliken. Publiken har hållits underrättad hela tiden om hans resa och jublade när han väl kommit fram. Det fanns alltså en stark relation mellan Jali Nyama Suso och publiken redan innan han började spela vilket märks.
    Kora master Jali Nyama Suso from the Gambia performs at Falun Folkmusic Festival, Sweden, 1988, after arriving to the venue with motor cycle police escort from airport (2 hours travel). He was scheduled to arrive the day before and with an announced concert waiting the police was helpful. A presidential arrival which he adresses in this song!

    the gabia has a lot to teach the wold when it comes folk music , kora maestro jali nyama suso is a legend in his time and even in today's generation. when one listen to his music , it is not hard to find out the crucial message in his music. kora is a 21 string instrument which he used to convey his soul stirring and heart warming messages. may he rest in peace...

      Did your dad really lose his leg as Wikipedia said. It claims he lost it at 16, yet, unless I'm confusing him for someone else, there's at least two photos of him standing as an adult man, with what appears to be two legs. Did he use a prosthetic?
