Shane was just my favorite character on TWD, like ever. He made a few mistakes here and then, but he was totally a character I felt attached to.

It's criminal how under-rated Jon Bernthal is, I know this even more so watching Season 2 of Daredevil - he's incredible

I think Shane is a good guy inside, I have a hard time seeing myself being much different if a zombie apocalypse happened. He wants to survive, and the others just wants to feel sorry for themselves.

I don't care what anyone says, Shane was the only one who understood what the world had become before anybody else did. You cannot fault any choice or call he made (aside from the whole Lori situation which he's still not totally at blame for because she played him and Rick off against each other!), he made all the right decisions yet so many people hate him? The group have done far worse than he ever did. All he did was try to protect them but the group were too busy trying to keep their humanity, which admittedly is fair enough, but he knew what the world was and did what he had to do to stay alive and keep others alive.
Kyra Sutton The problem was he evolved way, way too quickly, even Robert Kirkman, creator of the walking dead, said that if Shane survived and became leader he would have gotten the whole group killed.
I know who Robert is ;P And I never wanted Shane to be leader, but he knew exactly how the world was and what you had to do to survive. (:

Shane was the only person in the group to realize what it took to survive in the world as for the others they looked at him like he was the devil at the time, now look at them.

About36GREEKS The one key difference is that Shane cared about nobody except Lori and Carl, while Rick cares about everyone he has come to know and he is still capable of good.

Shane cared for everyone in the group but he cared more about his immediate family more. At least to him Carl and Lori was regarded as his immediate family. His temporary leadership position in season one proves and his move to initiate a clearance of the barn does also. He was the one who tried to calm Carol down after she fell into a deep state of despair b/c of her daughter's death.
Taylor Giavasis Well yeah, Rick and Shane are very similar now with all that Rick has gone through. Just think about how sociopathic Carl and Judith might be. Carl was exposed to this world from an early age and Judith was born in it.

Shane and Rick would be best friends as of now. Carl in the comics is near the peak of becoming an antagonist. The problems the world inflict on survivors can antagonize anyone, almost inevitably. It takes a strong willed human being to remain civil throughout their underwent journey of living in the apocalypse

Shane was/is the best character in the whole show. He made all the right decisions and he made the hard choices that needed to be made. He was right about Rick. Rick came back and destroyed everything. Rick took the leadership role from Shane and ended up making one bad decision after the other, all while Shane is saying what needs to be done and nobody listens to him, just to find out that later on Shane was right.
Hell, look at it this way. If it wasn't for Shane Hershel would probably still think Walkers were sick people.
Shane was a better leader and more badass than most characters, if not all characters.
Yup shane is considered a bad guy only by the idiot fans of the show , he was by far the most entertaining and smartest of them all , he opened the barn , saved them from spending more time looking for a girl he allready knew was dead , also killed Randell which HAD TO BE DONE ! He just had told daryl his group raped girls so why would rick want him to go ? Lol shane and t dogg were the only two that knew what to do

TragedyStrikes Look, Shane was/is/will always be my favorite Walking Dead character but if you say for one second he made all the right choices, then you honestly don't see things clearly. He was right about the whole survival thing but the world hadn't completely molded into that yet. He killed Otis when they both could have made it out alive, they both easily could have. He was blinded by jealousy and tried to rape Lori. He may have been a great character but he was too hot headed. He did not make all the right decisions and as confirmed by Robert Kirkman, if he had survived past the farm he would have gotten the group killed or would have torn it apart.

I was very suprised when Shane was killed off. Jon Berenthal was amazing in the role of Shane, and I'd have liked to see him live at least a while into Season 3. Just goes to show that on this series, anyone is expendable.
Be grateful, he got a much longer life in the TV show.
Shane dies in the comic very very early (3rd comic issue to be exact). Actually, fans were surprised he survived as long as he did.

So much happened but i came back to those memories. Im blessed that i look like him, He teached me a lot even if he is a ficitional charakter from a series.

They screwed up with this character man , the show was so early on and they prob felt it was the right thing to do at the time , but looking at it now they should have had him leave the group and joined Negans , imagine Shane being Negans right hand man when Rick and them are all on their knees , have him eventually turn on negan and go back to Ricks side or have him be helping ricks group lowkey while still working for negan

He died even sooner in the comics so, it wasn’t the show’s decision to keep him around or all the following storylines would’ve been messed up.
I remember 2014 when I started watching The Walking Dead. And I started finding these edits from you on ytb. Because of you I started editing and over time I started to love it. I know it's been a long time so I want to thank you for doing this until today and for me you are really inspiration.

Shane is neither good or bad. His whole character is a grey area, and open to interpretation. What one person might see as an arrogant decision, others might see as bravery. And when he left Rick in the hospital at the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse, that is also open to interpretation. I will always choose to believe Shane was a good man! He would be someone I fall in love with! Your video is really well done, and gave me chills! Good job!
It's hilarious how Rick looked at Shane as a monster for wanting to kill Randall so desperately now look at him he wouldn't think twice about killing anybody.

The sad thing is, Shane had it all right, he was seen as an asshole in season 2 as the audience compared him to the good guy Rick that always cared about his morals. Now in season 5 Rick has the same attitude as Shame used too and kills all that gets in his way of him or popes a threat to his group. Poor Shame, i mean calling Rick out and talking about ricks family kinda pushed it but Shane knew what direction you needed to take in a world like that.
Loominarty Cunnfermed? That's funny considering Rick admitted in last episode that he would only kill Jesse's husband for her not anyone else. He also gripped his gun twice when looking at her Husband. Gee, doesn't that remind you of Shane when he held Rick in his shotgun ironsight in the woods? Shane didn't do things for the safety of the group when he had everyone on the side of the freeway? "I gotta make sure everyone is safe" "the right choice is the one that keeps US alive" "I'm here trying to save lives here while you are trying to save cats from trees"

I can't believe this is my first time watching this vid. Great tribute. I met Jon Bernthal last year at Philly Comic Con and he is basically the complete opposite of Shane lol. incredibly nice and a wonderfully talented actor. this vid perfectly showcases his talent on TWD :)

Shane is my favourite character from TWD together with Dale and Rick.. Why Shane? Because he was the one who knew how the world has ended and he was the one who understood that there is no hope and if you want to survive, you need to fight for it. I wish they would kick him out of the farm and he would come back as a villian later in like season 5 or 6, that would be so awesome!

In my opinion, the stuff shane did was justified. He killed otis for carl. I miss otis because he seems like a good guy, but shane had to do something for carl. Carl would die if shane wouldnt have done something. Randal, he was dangerous. He was gonna lead his people to the farm if rick let him live and shane took him out quick. Shane was a good guy. Took care of lori and carl when rick was gone. It sucks that he died. I wish him and rick would just work out something. RIP Shane Walsh. :(

All you stupid little fuck boys need to stop saying "Oh he tried to kill Rick" can you get your fucking brain working properly? Shane set it all up so Rick could kill him. He was miserable but didn't want to show his weakness so that's why he was acting all tough and threatening to Rick out in the field. He knew Rick at that time would be the only one to end his life if he pushed him far enough.

Now that the season back I have to come back here and watch Shane tributes. I really miss his character. Show has never been the same without him. Such a badass. He would have put a bullet in the head of the Governor the first chance he got and Andrea would have never died and the prison never attacked. He had balls, thats why.

Shane could still be alive
Rick has been hallucinating since season 1 (the helicopter in Atlanta) because he was under a lot of stress. Season 1 finale they barely escape and lose Jacqui. Season 2 Carl gets shot and lori gets pregnant (no idea who the father is) dale dies and Daryl is almost killed and they still don't know what to with Randal. Rick hallucinated the entire thing. Shane had already slipped away. At the time there was an entire herd of walkers already making there way to the barn. In the scene rick stabs shane in the stomach and "kills" him. And Shane had reanimated literally in SECONDS. What Rick had stabbed was just a walker that was ahead of the herd, hence why it got up so quickly. Besides don't u think carl would have been much more devastated for an 8 year old seeing what was his second father die? He seemed completely okay with it. and when Rick mentions it after they leave the farm carl is in complete shock as if he wasn't present when it happened. (Because it never happened) so shane is alive and wandering somewhere with a new group.
