Tons of great info! I had one of these on order from August to December, but there was no firm delivery date even after all that time. I eventually caved, cancelled the order and bought a Fathom 2 because it was in stock. Taking delivery of that bike this week. Your video of the Fathom 2 aided me in that decision, so thank you!

could get revolt advanced 2 model 2021, i found advanced 3 model's frame finishing more attractive than 2's glossy finished frame
2x crankset is very pleased to me because mostly i do tarmac, overall great bike.
Stocks are really very limited in the shops, so we buy whatever we find 🤣. Greetings from Montreal

Thank you. This helps tremendously. Looking to upgrade to a carbon frame gravel bike and this one is at a price point $4-500 less than others. Seeing the walk-through helps me understand what you are getting with this build. Looks like Giant went away from their proprietary mech/hydro brake system and is now using Shimano GRX hydro. Next best selling point is the wide 700c tire clearance and ability to run 650b. Just wish they were available near where I live.

Yes, Giant went away from their proprietary brakes which we were very happy about. Good luck tracking down a bike! 2021 is going to be even crazier than 2020 it seems for finding a bike.

Brian, I would suggest calling around to different bike shop to find a shop that is still expecting these and get your name on their list or put a deposit down to secure it. It seems like Giant didn't make many of these so finding one could be a challenge.
@@BikeBrosBikeShop thanks bro, yeah I’m in the hunt got my name on every Giant dealer in town. They aren’t taking deposits cause the want for these type of bikes are so high. They just say they will let me know as soon as they expect one, fingers crossed!

How do you like it so far?
It’s great. I have never had a new bike before so it’s a big difference. It’s so light and I can tell I’m able to go faster. My only problem right now is the chain making noise. I went to the bike shop where I got it and they said they did something but there was no difference so I’ll bring it back again. It might be in part that the chain needs to stretch out and adjust.

In the end, I managed to get this very one ( last one in stock ) at my LBS.
Do you think I could possibly switch to a 1x drivetrain? If so, would you advise running a chain guide ( like the model 1 ) or could I safely do without? 1x drivetrain will feature Force Cx crankset I already own.

Great video. I have a road bike with25 mm tires.I feel every bump, pot hole and crack on the road. I am switching to this model. I am In it for fitness reasons,endurance long rides and fun. not for racing the tour of France. The thread on the gravel bike allows you to go anywhere This Bike as explained can go on all roads. Looking to bring down the tire size to a 32 or 35 for bit more speed. Tubeless ready is just an added bonus.

Well I was hoping it would be a glossy frame, but it is not so my search continues. I LOVE the grey/red color from 2019 and would really like to find that close to new.

Hi there, I bought this bike (2021 Giant Revolt Advanced 3) last year in November, I notice it has FSA BB press-fit (B3044 BB-AL86 19mm) but the brochure mention is Shimano press-fit, please educate me as I'm might be wrong, thank you. I plan to replace the crank with Shimano (FC-RX810-2), should I replace the bb with BB-RA500-PB too? Do you know if the existing will accommodate the Shimano Crank? again thank you.

I’ve been trying to buy this bike for weeks now. Out of stock in ever shop in my city. Back ordered like crazy.
You may need to travel 100 or more miles to find one. I just bought one 2 days ago a couple of hours from where I live! They only had one and it was in my size. I got lucky. They also currently have one in PA at Earnie’s cycle. I was going to travel just over 500 miles to get that one but decided to call around a little more and got lucky... good luck!
I cannot decide between the Advanced 3 and Advanced 2. Is the GRX 600 worth upgrading to Advanced 2? Can I upgrade the groupset piecemeal later and save some money getting the Advanced 3 to get started?

Some nice details on this bike. What is the tire size down... does it take 28/32mm the smallest?
I think going down to a 32c would be fine. Smaller might look odd on the wide rims
I’ve looked around for a comfortable gravel bike , all city space horse , cannondale top stone 1, and this one , Al also the diverge , but I forget to ask the question, with the top stone & revolt , can I add a 650 b wheel set on the revolt ? Thanks, love this bike , wish it was available in Chicago land , also looking at canyon ,but I’ve got a fast road sl3 by giant & I think this bike will fit me well

You can check the UK Giant website just to make sure there weren't drastic differences... there usually aren't. Those detachable levers are a little unusual, but we haven't heard of them causing any problems or frustration. Good luck tracking something down!

Large weighs around 22lbs. Tad more. Easily can drop weight with a wheel upgrade. Also the stock cranks and cassette are fairly heavy. Could definitely get this bike sub 20lbs.
I just bought the Giant Revolt Advanced 2 bike. Love it! I am wondering if I can change the stem out to make the drop bars come up higher and if so, is that a bad thing todo??
Yes it is possible. Many different lengths and rises of stems available with prices often starting around $40 or $50. Visit your shop and they should be able to look after you.
Great colour too. V Good bikes these once you ditch the boat anchor wheels , I sold mine on quickly. Still a bit heavy for carbon but they ride lighter
Yes, the Advanced level bikes typically do have heavier wheels - they pretty much concentrate on offering the best priced bike with a given groupset. Once you get into the Advanced pro models, they put more emphasis on stocking lighter wheels and cockpit. Giant isn't often chasing "lightest in class" status. With trying to offer a best priced solution and wanting to minimize future warranty issues they design these pretty wisely - some other brands that try to offer the "lightest in category" bikes have more warranty claims which ads to the expense of the bike model for the brand.

Hi. Great video thanks. Just about to purchase the revolt ADV 1. Was concerned about the single set at the front.....not so concerned about the cadence :).........do you have a review of the ADV 1?
Sorry, the Revolts have been in very limited supply so I never got a chance to review the Adv 1. We usually need the bike to actually remain in the shop a couple days so I can film after hours.. there have been a number of bikes I wanted to film that I never got a chance before they were picked up by their new owners.
I got the Revolt 2 , Aluux frame but great none the less
Would you recommend this for beginner gravel/commuting?
Wouldn’t the chain stay straighter by two by? Also any of my 1x when they get dirty they have a dramatic grind/drag using more hill climb gear
Regarding the noise, yes, 1x drivetrains get noisy if the chain is dry/dirty... a good reminder to lube before every use. As for chainline, yes there are some gears that 2x results in straighter chainline but with the 1x the chainline works without issue through the entire range on the cassette. I have seen bikes with less than optimal 1x drivetrain, typically as a result of incorrect chainring or bottom bracket from the factory pushing the chainring too far out - in our shop we correct this during assembly
Random question, can you put a toddler seat in the back?
That may depend on the specific design of the seat you're putting on. I'm afraid those things make me too nervous about the liability that I've never sold one so not an expert.

I'm not too surprised. It seems different territories skew their options to match the perceived demand.
Please compare and contrast the Giant Revolt 0 and the Giant Roam 0. I don't know which one is the better all rounder bicycle.
Hi Paul, I'm afraid we weren't allocated any Revolt 0 bikes so that one won't get discussed at all. Between the two I would struggle to compare because the Roam is a very practical bike, often appealing to people as their only bike for use around town while the Revolt (and gravel bikes in general) appeal to people already into either road and/or mountain biking who are attracted to gravel bikes partially because so many cyclists have a romantic love of drop-bar bikes and pushing the boundaries of what is possible on drop bars.
Super helpful video. I am trying to decide between the Advanced 3 and the Revolt 0. Should I go carbon w ‘lower end ‘ GRX 400 or aluminum with the 105 group set. I am thinking I will notice more of a difference with the carbon frame, but I don’t know....help :)
Personally, especially on a gravel bike, I would take higher end components and an alloy frame but they're close enough for offering a great ride that I would take whichever I can find. If you were going to use the bike a lot on pavement and maybe group rides, maybe carbon is better for weight savings and nice feel with the tires pumped up a bit more. For gravel use and riding with slightly softer tires I think some of the carbon advantage (ride feel) isn't as noticable.

Hi, curious to know what you decided on. I have the same dilemma. there is an Advanced 3 in my LBS in a nice dark colour. Its superficial but i like the look of carbon better but I am worried about the GRX 400 group set. is it really negligible to most people or will i regret it every time i change gear or use he breaks because its not as smooth or responsive .... any thoughts from you or @Bike Bros would be appreciated
@@MrSlippersandpipe Due to the shortage of supply, I went with what I could get my hands on - the Advanced 3. I think the difference in components would be negligible to me. You are right , the carbon does look pretty nice! My advice would be to get what you can, at your price point, that when you see it, you say to yourself "I want to go for a ride" and then don't look back. Just enjoy it!

In Canada this bike comes in two colours. The second one is called dusty blue.

Pretty sure it is. It is hard to make out where the rubber plugs are on the inside of the non-drive side chainstay because of the paint colour that hide the mounting position but it looks like there are some plugs there.

I bought model Advanced 1 2021 with 1x11 in December. For the price, it could have some better attention to detail. For example, chainstay rubber protector is too short - your chain can slap the frame at the end of the chainstay, Giant own tyres with a wire bead, cheap-looking handlebar wrap...could have threaded BB and I am not sure if I can really fit 45C tyres on it, any experience? It seems to me there is not enough space in the frame. After 200km on it, I had to put the rear wheel back to my shop. There is some issue inside of the hub. Still, I like the frame look and riding behaviour...
Where are you from? In Canada all Revolt models are 2x. We don't get the Advanced 1 here. I'm surprised your tires were wire bead.
@@BikeBrosBikeShop From the Czech Repulic. With the bead, I was suprised too but you can check that tyre on Giant website where they have also this information. I saved around 300g even I put a bigger tyres then the original. They were 700x38 and now I have Wtb Nano 700x40...
What are you thoughts on it being a 10spd vs an 11spd. If I wanted to convert to an 11spd what would that entail, cost and parts?
Upgrading to 11 speed won't make sense. You'd have to change derailleur, shifter, chain and cassette. The 10 speed is pretty good!

@@djsoriano 11 speed will be a little bit smoother shifting but not overly noticeable. Slightly wider range of gears &/or slightly smaller steps between gears.

I am also looking for more information and insight regarding matching a bike's geometry with a cyclist's physical geometry. I am 5ft even and all my bikes get professionally fit to me each year- b/c of the struggle of finding bikes that fit my physical small frame. I would like insight on what brands are doing diligence in thinking carefully about a woman's proportions (small wrists, small shoulders, etc) in the design of their frames. I have a TT bike with 650 wheels, many consider this blasphemy. This reflects the ignorance and lack of attention to small women's bodies. I put out my best power on that 650 wheel frame, and I have years' worth of data to back up that claim. Are any brands taking the small woman rider seriously? They should, as cycling is one of those sports for which being small can be quite advantageous.
