If you want to be a mixing and mastering engineer, it is not at all necessary to know to play a musical instrument. Don’t get me wrong… definitely musical abilities will help correcting and enhancing tracks but mixing and mastering is more of a technical skill. So even if I don’t know all the music theory related concepts, I can still make an amazing mixed and mastered output for a song. What do you think about this ?
