I have an 1939 Oliver HG68 that was given to me from a farmer that I had worked for for many yrs as a kid , and work for him many yrs when I got out of the military and had started a family , the farmer didn't have any boys so you might say he had taking me in as his own...! Great people but anyway i've been restoring this crawler and have been enjoying every minute of it and thinking of the times we used this ole girl on the farm...! She brings back alot of memories , i'm 61 and soon going on 62...!!! Have a blessed day my friend...!

I got the biggest smile on my face when that engine kicked over! As a kid in the 60s and 70s I had to start the Family Tractor on cold winter mornings to plow our 600 foot driveway. There was nothing finer than hearing that old engine kick in! 😀

It's much more quiet and comfortable than a modern machine that has to be screaming in order to make enough hydraulic pressure for all it's actuators. And that simple pin arrangement for changing the angle of your blade is just beautiful.

If he is still alive, you should get him to tell you as many things as he can, so that you can pass the stories down to your kids. It's also good to start plowing on an open piece of equipment. This way, someday, you'll appreciate a truck or loader that is enclosed.

I love your old tractor really nice piece of kit! I'd be on that all day if I owned it My ex used to get mad at me when it snowed... LoL... I was like a giddy little kid rubbing my hands together so I could go out and play with my old Belarus 250.. haha. good times I'd spend the day out plowing every flake of snow I could find... nothing like having fun and accomplishing something while you're at it!

I have a slightly older 420. You should have a choke for that and the air cleaner hooked up. Mine swallowed a nut right through the carb before I had the air cleaner hooked up. I got lucky and nothing was damaged, but it's not worth the risk.

What a relaxing vid to watch. I dozed off for a few minutes and he was just starting his second pass. Guess they call that "country time". Nice.😉

Oh man !! Imissed so much running our old john deer !!! we made wood side guards on each side of the blade to form a kind of box, so you can get more snonw without lossing some, we also often just install one side so you get on side boxed and they other side open to let the snow escape.

Happy New Year Kyle, to you and your family :) That was an amazing video, one of our new favorites! Very well done. It is so great to see that your family is close and able to pass down stories, knowledge and memories through the generations. It is becoming more and more rare these days. We were recently operating some newer tractors for snow removal and this was incredible to see an old machine going strong. We enjoyed hearing the story of how your grandfather used to keep warm and seeing how you manually angle the blade. Stay warm and we wish you all the best for 2018.

Thanks so much guys. I'm glad you liked seeing the footage. My Dad is the one who showed me the blade angling system, and I thought it was so brilliantly. Stupidly simple, but that's the beauty of it!
Happy New Year to the both of you!
