I get that this will work nine times out of ten, but a real professional would check circuits and the battery under load, and he would make some effort to rule out excessive resistance in the ground. Scannerdanner did several videos showing how this is done quickly and easily. Just a few ohms of extra resistance in the B+ line is enough to falsely condemn a starter or battery. As a pro you'll probably do this thousands of times. If your success is 9 out of ten, that means you're making hundreds of mistakes over a lifetime. Why not use a method that will give you more confidence, and reduce the hundreds of angry customers over your lifetime?
