As simple as it is, never thought of taping off the streaks then feathering the edges after, great idea!

Nice work. I am looking to up my painting game and this stuff is so helpful

Brilliant Lee, extremely helpful and great detective work on that roof brown. Loving these darker streaks too. All the hues look just right. I’ll need to control that initial layer of roof brown though, get my wide spraying brush out!

Mate, I'm not you lol, I know this is a pale attempt but was more about just a few tips to achieve some effects that are relatively simple. Can't wait to see you paint this model buddy.

Fantastic tutorial for us beginners. Taking the plunge into airbrushing and this will be a great tool for me so I don’t cock up anything expensive😅. Where is the best place to get the Styrene the same as you’re using?

Thanks so much. Just look for ABS or even HIPS sheet, I mainly use Ebay for much of my materials as local model shops are scarce these days.

@@fxmodelminiatures3175 Thanks mate, really appreciate the advice. Can I ask while your on if I need to use a different airbrush for the priming of a model? I was gifted an Iwata Revolution airbrush from someone and not sure if this is for priming or detailing or both? Kris.

@kristianbooth6262 I don't really prime with an airbrush, as I tend to use automotive primers from the rattle can. But, yes of course, if AB priming is your go to, use the same brush.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to share it! I need to pick up a Crawler from Randy soon. What brand/size tool did you use to scribe your panel lines. They look wider that the tools I use. Thx again

It's a 0.5mm Tamiya scriber, but I'd say try the 0.3 tip first, I think they offer around four different widths.

You might be Bat-shit, I dunno… but this is really helpful! I’m actually working on a sand Crawler of sorts right now!
